I upgraded Firefox to 109.0 on OpenSUSE Linux today as an update. Firefox no longer plays videos. Chrome is still playing the videos, so the codecs are on my machine. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Screen data is displayed upside down and backwards - currently booting either Ubuntu or Windows 10 separately - the Windows 10 boot has no problems with either Microsoft Edge or Firefox - the problem occurs when booting Ubuntu with Firefox. Started up Firefox this morning and was prompted for some updates and settings changes. Decided to skip those as there was something i wanted to do. Now I have no sound in Firefox, on any site. tested local files in VLC player and i have sound. even uninstalled and reinstalled my sound device. still no sound in Firefox. i do have sound in chrome. so it is a firefox issue. and 2 reboots have not resolved it. need to know what to check next ? please and thank you.

Firefox updated and now my tabs are above the address bar, I hate it. I have went through all the information I could and created a new chrome folder, downloaded the css and changed user preferences but it sets the tabs to the bottom of the screen not just below the address bar. I think I need a different set of code for the css but cant find a copy. Does anyone know what to do?

Running Firefox 71.0 (64 bit)

Well seems Firefox has been messing this up again.

Anyone have the new work around solution to get my tabs back on the bottom again. They were fine this morning then shut down and went out to lunch and when I came back they were back on the top again after months of being where I wanted them below my bookmark bar.

Thoughts on this?

Currently running Firefox v109. Problem existed with 108.0.2 also. Probably only a week or two before that, downloading pdf ran fine.

Downloading a pdf from Firefox "Failed". If I switch in Settings to open in a new Firefox window, it also fails.

Currently running Adobe Acrobat XI Professional locally.

Am able to download a pdf from Chrome successfully.

Other Linux browsers can load websites, but FireFox is problematic.

My problem initially started out on a profile migrated from Windows (with some extensions installed), but Ive reproduced from a brand-new profile. Similar to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can

Although the problem is sporadic, it occurs more way frequently than I would like. I have done quite a bit of troubleshooting with different profiles, used the --profile flag, sometimes --safe-mode, sometimes called around strace -- the results are pretty much the same.

Launch FF (as a new profile), and it will display the two tabs:

Sometimes I am able to load in an additional website (which is short-lived), but ultimately traffic peters out and tabs are just spinning endlessly. No network timeouts. Firefox's just waiting on ... something.

Other times, when loading the profile with extensions enabled (NoScript, Multi-Containers, etc), clicking on a extension's drop-down menu (eg: Multi-Containers) it's not a full rendered drop-down but instead a thin (~2px) vertical line.

Errors from commandline:

  • Missing chrome or resource URL: resource://gre/modules/UpdateListener.jsm
  • Missing chrome or resource URL: resource://gre/modules/UpdateListener.sys.mjs

(The clean up of FireFox on normal quit can take up to 30 seconds)

When wrapped in strace I see ridiculous amounts of

  • recvmsg(4, {msg_namelen=0}, 0) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily unavailable)

interspersed with

  • recvmsg(4, {msg_name=NULL, msg_namelen=0, msg_iov=[{iov_base="\16\0y\n+\0`\1\0\0>\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\

0\0\0\0\1\2z\n\0\0\0\0,\0`\1\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0", iov_len=4096}], msg_iovlen=1, msg_controllen=0, msg_flags=0},

0) = 64

Im not sure why this occurs with only FireFox. Ive ran instances SeaMonkey, Pale Moon, WaterFox, Epiphany, Google Chrome, Brave and Vivaldi without seeing these issues.

I highly suspect there's a conflict with something else I run. Already disabled fail2ban and apparmor. Are there any system calls from the strace that I should look for?

On your latest install Firefox 108.0.1 my tabs have moved to the bottom of my browser near my taksbar in window 10. The tabs are not working correctly. Please fix. Thank you.

P.S. it working in firefox safe mode. The tabs show a the top of screen and you can add multiple tabs.

I am locked out of my primary Firefox account due to 2FA being enabled, loss of 2FA device, and cannot locate my backup auth codes. I still have control of the primary and secondary email addresses associated with the account. It seems like that should be enough to be able to delete the account, but there doesn't appear to be any way to do that. I would be glad to send email from one/both of those addresses if it would help facilitate the account being deleted.

I also have a Firefox Relay subscription active under that account, which is why I cannot just abandon it and use a new account.

When I log into my financial institution, it asks for my user name and password. This is normal. However, tonight when I tried to log in, a window popped up asking for my fingerprint It identified itself as coming from Firefox. This has not happened before. Is this action true? or a scam? If true, do you know why it has started popping up? (Did I flip a switch in the browser, then forget about it?) I've attached a screen grab of the window. Thanks for your help Tom
