This problem just started with the latest version of Firefox that opens with two profiles. It worked for a short time and then failed. Firefox will not open if I choose the default profile. I can open Firefox if I choose Profile #2, but it has none of the history of the default profile. I lose all of my extensions, history, bookmarks - everything.

How can I get back to where I was yesterday? (Note: I'm just a user, not a computer geek, and don't understand the buzzwords or technospeak. I can follow clear instructions like copy, delete, rename, etc.)

Why are the minimize, maximize and restore buttons not visible?

Sometimes these buttons on the browser window appear, and sometimes all three buttons are not visible. Never had this problem until recent Firefox updates somehow affected this. I cannot tell which update was unaffected since, but this is an ongoing problem and the browser window is blank with no buttons on the top right hand corner. The only solution is to use the file menu and select exit from the list. I may have to open and close Firefox several times until the button icons are visible again. See example screenshots.

P.S. I'm using a 32" monitor if this helps.

Here is the current situation.

Firefox is consistently crashing in Windows 11, either a tab crash or the application itself. I'm not sure how to resolve it at this point. It was sufficiently bad that at first I assumed this was a problem with my Windows 11 installation, and did a complete reinstall of the OS followed by a fresh install of Firefox.

That did not resolve the problem. Firefox is still crashing.

I completely replaced the SSD assuming there was some kind of read/write problem between it and Firefox, did a clean install of Win11 and Firefox, and instead of porting my profile ported only my bookmarks and passwords into a new profile.

It's still happening. I don't know what to do at this point.

today I tried using a link from discord to go to a site. a window I was unfamiliar with stating it was firefox told me to pick a profile. I had 2 at that point but I saw none at that point. I ignored it and did nothing. I restarted my computer later on after a file browser issue and when I tried to find my profiles and my last session I found nothing. my entire fire fox account has been wiped and I only have a single profile in my app data thats onlder than 2026. I have no idea whats happened.

After running updates and restarting my computer, I am no longer able to open my common websites used frequently. I don't know how to fix this problem. The search bar runs until it times out.

Thanks for taking the time to look at this, simply put I am using the 'workspaces' app in windows power toys which allows me to open windows in specific configurations to make a workspace. The app allows me to open other apps with CLI args, so I can open Firefox to a preset url, or even predefined set of tabs.

This has got me wanting to use my firefox tab groups as a way of opening "dynamic" windows in my workspace. All that would be needed is a way to open a specific tab group from CLI, or more specifically a CLI arg that I can input into power toys workspace.

Please let me know if there is a way to do this. I checked the Firefox CLI [https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox/CommandLineOptions|documentation] and didn't find anything though.

My local newspaper has gone only digital, which I actually like. But, there is an option on the bottom of the reader that is available when using Edge and is not available when I use Firefox. A mouseOver on Edge displays "Print or clip". Yes, it's a snipping tool and/or print option. But it really right-sizes the snipped area perfectly for printing crossword puzzles. The Windows snipping tool (Windows 11) makes it too small so I need to go to Edge for only this one task. My first preference would be to get the function on the Firefox screen, and my second choice would be to figure out how to use the Windows snipping tool to print without leaving Firefox. For the last couple of days, the address bar on the web apps that I've installed to my taskbar has been shrunk to about a third its usual length. I don't have flexible space put anywhere on my toolbar, and the problem is only on the sites I've put in the taskbar, not in regular browser windows. Is there a way to fix it, and get it back so it reaches all the way to the extension icons?

I'm using Firefox 147.0.1 on Windows 11, Version 25H2, Build 26200.7623, if that helps

I want to achieve windowed functionality of Firefox's F11 fullscreen mode, where there's no window borders nor tab/url bar, which pops in on hover. Having every pixel actually be web space is just preferable to me. This used to be possible in old Firefox versions simply by resizing a fullscreened FF window using a resizer extension or window manager (such as seen here, with version 55.0.3: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1klHdUHiKtLVITmrQnul8O1zF32l-Uz6c/view). At some point, something must have changed in FF's fullscreen API because it no longer responds to any of this.

I'm willing to pay anyone savvy enough to come up with a solution. Ideally by figuring out how to again be able to simply resize F11 windows. Note: "full-screen-api.ignore-widgets" isn't cutting it, there will still be a window border and the tab/url bar won't automatically pop up.

Today I was suprised to see that my shortcuts were deleted so i tried to fix it, but instead i somehow deleted my profile which had everything, is there a way to bring it back?

In the pass while on a tab inside a group[1], whenever I 'open link in new tab' it keeps the group closed, but now it forcefully opens the group. Is there setting I can press to stop this.

I had to install a new OS disk. So, I created an account, and made a synchronization. Then, I made a security backup. When I installed the SO and Firefox, I logged in to sync. As soon as I logged, it automatically started to sync the random tiles it had after install. So, I had to use the places.sqlite and favicon.sqlite files. It got me half the tiles, and even those were misplaced. So, I had to go for the security html, and I finally got everything I wanted. But, now it says the account is not associated. If I login to associate it, when I shut down the PC, it returns to those half tiles, and out of order.

How can I get this right?

I've been annoyed recently to see the Firefox symbol on both my Desktop and in the taskbar and finding that there are two in the taskbar when I open one. The bottom line is that I seem to have completely obliterated Firefox as I'd had it set up! Can I restore my Firefox settings to where they were yesterday?

I'm using Windows 11 with the latest version of Firefox.

A few days ago I went to addictinggames.com and had no problem playing several games. Today I went there and every game I tried I received the following error "Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information)."

Then I went to the site using Microsoft Edge and had no problems, every game I tried worked fine.

In Firefox I disabled both Adblocker Ultimate and Ghostery (My only extensions). Before I went to the site I deleted cookies and Temporary Internet Files and I still got the same error. Any ideas?

I often use Firefox to read PDF, but whenever I add highlight to it doesn't save it to the same file but rather as to save a copy of file which is very annoying I end up with two version of same file I am reading and it because very irritating, how do I make it to update the file which was open rather than saving a new copy.
