Opening PDFs automatically with Firefox and, without any changes I might make, saving them with the download function in Firefox, actually ruins the functionality and data entry function of that file. Specifically this happens with PDF files downloaded from the (not all that amusing) PDFs from the FINCEN, (US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network). I do not see why and how Firefox thinks it is allowed to change files that are simply downloaded and saved on Firefox.

In other words, it seems that Firefox strips away certain "permissions" and/or "functions" (like built-in lookup, menu or choice boxes). This means that the file so downloaded via Firefox can no longer be used to properly fill in data, or to look up and choose data items within the file. (I see many times that ANYTHING having to do with "permissions" tends to be an intractable and unsolvable problem for software makers & experts, so, if you do not know right away how to solve the problem, it will probably take you several years to figure this out.)

The PDF in question is created by a government agency. If you have ever dealt with a government agency, then you know that they act sort of like Adobe or Microsoft: "They don't respond, or they do respond & say they do not understand, and if they understand, they are either unwilling or unable to fix the problem."

If there is a switch or option within Firefox, which lets me tell Firefox "Save this file exactly like it is received, nothing added or removed!", that would be nice. I just have not found such an option yet, and it would be nice if it might get provided someday.

I will share my browser data, but I am sort of convinced that a detailed question like mine will not be addressed within that shared data.

Issue: When Firefox starts after a system reboot, it starts on the incorrect desktop. This seems to be off by one; that is, I have Firefox assigned to Desktop 3 (using the Dock icon's Options menu). Under normal operation, it starts on Desktop 3, but after a reboot, it seems to start on (more recently) Desktop 2 or (earlier) Desktop 4. Unsure about what causes it to prefer 2 vs. 4.

This seems to happen after I've shut down (quit Firefox normally, shut down without reopening windows on login, power goes off, power on, log in, then click on the Firefox icon in the Dock) or after a system update (which reopens windows on login for me after rebooting and installing the update). It does not seem to happen after a Firefox update or after quitting Firefox normally and then restarting it from the Dock icon right away.

Pretty irritating, as I have major applications assigned to specific desktops, and Firefox is the only one that seems to forget which desktop it should be on.

How to increase buffer time for video, how to load at least 2 min of video instead of how it's now about 30 seconds. I live in the countryside and I can't change my internet speed (I tried). I operate Windows 10 and Widows 11 on two different computers connected with a physical switch to my monitor, keyboard and external drives. On my windows 10 computer Firefox does not populate my ID and password on websites--like it used to. After manually entering this information I am presented with to option to save this information. After choosing that option, Firefox does not save and the next time I access the website I must again enter the information manually. This has become a great inconvenience as most of my passwords have been generated automatically and I must, therefore, reset them.

Works fine when operating with Windows 11.

The regular version of the browser is open with a bunch of pinned tabs and a private version. And!!! If you close the REGULAR version , but DO NOT close the PRIVATE one before that, then when you try to reopen the REGULAR one, ALL OPEN WINDOWS AND TABS will BE DELETED!!! WHY?!?!

And these tabs are not saved in history, because they WERE NOT active in this session!

Where do developers' hands grow from?! Well, this glitch was a couple of years ago! But now?! A month of work preparation went to hell because of Firefox failure... How do I restore tabs that were just blown away by the browser?

To update my Intel graphics drive, I had downloaded and installed Intel support tool, which then used my default browser Firefox to scan and download the missing driver. After I was done though Firefox crashed and didn't open back up. Since the blow up User Id's and Passwords to various sites no longer pop in by clicking in the requestors. I was able to retreive my UIDs and Passwords but I now have to obtain them from the Hamburger, Passworkds, etc. for each site I visit that requires a login. Twice for each site...one foe UID and again for Password. That is currently the worst problem I am facing but other damage was done with the update.

Suggestions for fixes are welcome.

I removed the solid-state SSD drive from my physically-broken Windows 10 HP laptop and connected it to my new Windows 11 HP laptop using an external adapter, wanting to move the contents to my new machine. But already I find that only about 3/4 of my bookmarked browsing favorite sites and document files are among the items that I can find on the old, externally-connected "D" drive (D:>USER>OWNER>FAVORITES). I tried visiting some of the bookmarked sites and hitting "bookmark this page" for each, but then none showed up on my new Windows 11 machine's firefox browser bookmarks sidebar. Perhaps they are being put elsewhere because I am opening these sites from my old drive??

I probably need to first understand if and how much that the two drives are still operating separately, so not cooperating with each other in the way I had hoped. I know next to nothing about any of these things but have used the Firefox browser and documents files for many years without too many issues.

So before few days firefox decided to automaticly update. after thet no pasword was saved in system. undery system data 2 files: logins.json-1.corrupt/json-2.corrupt without any data in files (but size is 130KB). i need these logins ASAP.
