I use Firefox to access my Office 365 email. Suddenly all files attached to emails contain UTF8 in the beginning of the file name. But when the file is attached to the email the name does not contain those characters. It doesn't happen when using another browser. I've attached an image of two different files.

Even though the custom folder for "downloads" has been set firefox keeps creating new one in the home folder. Nothing I've tried to do helped. From the bug reports I see this problem exists in the firefox at least for 15 years! I can't believe it is still not fixed. That's kind of behavior minor enough for the developers to take care of and major enough for the users to give up and switch browsers if it is not fixed. Crazy.

WHY is it that suddenly after 20 years if i delete cookies,my downloads are cancelled? this account was set up with a temporary email address. I am not your slave, servant, nor do I owe you my personal information. This is the second time I've contacted you about firefox browser. the last time was approx 10-11 years ago when your market share TANKED because you rejected simplicity and ergonomics in favor of requiring seven mouse clicks to remove history and data instead of three previously required. when EVERYONE said they hated it and asked WHY Mozilla decided to stop taking customer feedback. you were successful BECAUSE you were different. then you shifted into being the same as chrome and IE. making yourself pretty useless. I had to create a fake account and email address to contact you because somehow you believe as donald trump does " corporations are the masters and users/consumers are the slaves" WE'RE SUPPOSED TO just take WHATEVER you offer whether it is what people want or not. I use a linux PC and firefox solely because i can use the noscript add on, firefox focus on my phone because until this week it blocked video ads and sign in to google pop ups. If there was a noscript option for safari you would have been gone a decade ago when all of my bookmarks were suddenly relegated to the "other bookmarks" folder in favor of sponsoring crap from whatever piper played your tune and threw money at you. good luck 20 year user

I only want to remove the "whatsapp" content type because I prefer to open it in Firefox rather than in the Windows app. I've uninstalled Whatsapp from Windows, but the option is still in Firefox's "Applications" list. I wouldn't want to reset all the settings just to remove this entry.

Is there a way to remove just this entry in the content type?

Hello, I am having trouble to have my Firefox desktop 128.8.0esr retain my choices on how to handle the various file types it downloads - save, ask or open with a corresponding MS Office application (broad sense).

No problem to reach or configure each type available, e.g. 'Microsoft Word Document >> Always Ask', my issue is that my settings DO NOT get permanently stored, so if I restart Firefox, everything defaults back to standard choices. This is affecting exclusively all choices from 'Applications' list; the radio button option right below on 'what to do with other files' is being respected [surviving Firefox restart] accordingly.

This issue has been around on previous versions as well, I was hoping that next revisions might solve the problem however still frustrated on this particular matter. Have also seen the article https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-firefox-behavior-when-open-file and specifically at 'Changing Download Actions' my issue can be described as its item [5. Close Settings page. Changes will automatically be saved] is not working at all.

My 'prefs.js' file is not read-only, I have just K-Now extension installed and I already tried to issue an installation refresh, however problem persists. Thanks to advise on what to do.

I've searched everywhere it seems to get Firefox to stop automatically opening my downloads. I'm a graphic designer that downloads a lot of things at one time, and it's really annoying that they all open up at once. How can I fix this? I've tried to play around it Firefox settings, but didn't have any luck. Thanks for any help!

Sehr geehrtes Firefox-Support-Team,
