Hi there, I'd like the option to unbind default keybindings. Specifically, the Ctrl+W to close a tab binding. I reflexively hit ctrl+W when I want to delete a word in a text box (from emacs/shell/vim/etc) and this has resulted several times in me closing the tab I was on and losing the text I was writing. It would be useful to me to be able to disable this keybinding so that I don't continue having these accidents. More generally, I imagine that some users will find some keybindings annoying and want to disable or maybe remap them.

So this is half a feature request, and also half a support request if anyone has suggestions for workarounds in the meantime.

As in if not minimized just the once, the taskbar doesn't unhide when I move the cursor all the way to the bottom.

It happened earlier this year, an update fixed it, and it came back some updates ago.

Is there anything to configure in the about:config to alleviate this issue?

Is it possible to reverse the direction of side scrolling? Right now scrolling down while holding shift scrolls to the right and up to the left, can this be changed anywhere? Thanks!

I'm using the AI chatbot in Firefox Developer Edition's sidebar and I was wondering if it's possible to set the web page from the active tab as the context by default for all future chats.

Is there a setting (checkbox) for this somewhere?

Problem: in meiner Excel Tabelle werden ständig Hyperlinks aktiviert. - obwoh das Seitens Excel dekaktiviert wurde.

Die Fehlermeldung lautet: dass der verwendete Brower externe Quellen zuläßt. Wenn es nicht möglich ist, dieses zu ändern, muß ich einen anderen Browser verwenden.

I recently switched from Chrome to Firefox and really enjoy using the Fullscreen Mode (F11) while browing Websites, since I hide my taskbar in Windows, hiding the Browsers own taskbar makes for a really immersive browsing experience.

Only problem I've happend upon is, that when Fullscreen Mode is enabled, my automatically hiding Taskbar does not want to appear when being moused over. This is logical behavior and I understand why it does that, but is there some way to change this behavior in the backend of the software?

Using touchpad and swiping fast right and left makes you go back or forward in your browser history. I want to disable it as its annoying especially when you get knocked back out of a page and loose what youre working on.

I'm on Linux and have been using Firefox since I switched over. The first thing I disabled was restoring tabs because I never need it/find it annoying. I noticed that every time I would restart my computer with Firefox open it would restore the session. I understand that this happens because Firefox sees it as a crash so I changed the following settings:

• browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash from `true` to `false`
• browser.sessionstore.max_windows_undo from `5` to `0`
• browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo from `25` to `0`
• browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes from `1` to `0`

I changed those according to this guide: https://kb.mozillazine.org/Session_Restore#Completely_disabling_session_store

Unfortunately any time I restart my computer with Firefox open it resumes my session. Is there any other way to turn this off? Theres no way all of these settings do nothing.

I also deleted the contents of sessionstore-backups in the profile folder but it just recreates the files after a while.

My goal is to be able to restart and shutdown with Firefox open and not have to worry about it restoring tabs.

when I change the settings for permissions on a website adn close the settings window and reopen it, the settings go back to the default before I changed the settings...how do I save the permissions?

I always use Full Screen mode on MacOS (^⌘F). However, when I press the escape key, it always leaves Full Screen mode. This is annoying when browsing: whenever there is a popup which you should be able to leave with pressing 'Esc', the browser goes out of Full Screen. Why does 'Esc' lead to leaving Full Screen, when there is a dedicated key command to do this (^⌘F)? At least there should be a option to change this behaviour.

Hello, I freshly installed my new computer and so my thunderbird version is now newer than before. I use Debian 12 with Thunderbird and Firefox 128.13.0esr now. I do unfortunately not know which version I had before, but I think my problems come from Thunderbird version, not from Debian.

I have 2 problems with the new dialog windows of Print, Save as, Open etc.

1. e.g. when I click on "Print", the dialog window opens and my problem is the position of the Button "Print". Now it is in the upper right corner and always before it was in the lower right corner. Can I change this position of the buttons?

2. e.g. when I click on "Save as", the dialog window opens and my problem is that the field of the filename in the upper middle is much too small in width. Before when this field was at the lower middle to right, there was much more width for the filename. Can I change the width of this field?

All in all my both problems are with dialog windows, which I think are Mozilla / Thunderbird / Firefox exclusive, because in other apps there are dialog windows which look completely different. Is there a way to change the entire "optic" of the dialog windows or maybe I can prevent Mozilla apps from using their own dialogs and use my system standard dialogs?

Jedesmal muss man die Datenschutzbedingungen akzeptieren, das nervt. Bei anderen Browsern ist das nicht so, daher benutze ich ihn nicht mehr. Abstellen kann ich das nicht, habe alles versucht

I have already unchecked the smooth scrolling setting. i have also tried with and without auto scrolling. This problem is only on firefox on my laptop. My desktop PC firefox does not have this problem, and no other program on my laptop is doing this. when i scroll with my mouse wheel, the page keeps moving for like a whole second after i stop turning the scroll wheel, like lingering movement. I Hate It and it didnt use to do this. I want the pages to stop moving way sooner and stop sliding around!!! My problem that toggling the 'use smooth scrolling' setting does literally nothing and its driving me crazy. wtf is this and how can i fix it
