Hallo, ich habe nun schon mehrfach versucht meine Sprache im Settings umzustellen. Habe mich genau an die Anleitung gehalten. Aber ich bekomme einfach nicht die Sprache umgestellt. Ich will es auf Deutsch umstellen aber es bleibt alles beim englisch. Ich habe Cache schon gelöscht, habe meinen VPN ausgeschaltet und mehrfach den PC hochgefahren. Was läuft da bei mir falsch. Da ich kein englisch kann ist es etwas schwierig hier alles dann zu verstehen. Ich benutze Linux Ubuntu. Danke für die Hilfe.

Whenever I use Firefox to open sites like Google and Yahoo they appear with foreign languages like Spanish and Indonesian. Sometimes it asks me if I want translation. My default location on Firefox (weather) is in Argentina. When I open the default location to my settings, they show English (US) as the default language. I also can't change my default location to Los Angeles, California, USA.

Hi, The translation feature is a great and much-needed addition. It was one of the main reasons I kept using Chrome, so having it in Firefox—on both desktop and Android—is fantastic. Thank you!

I’ve noticed that to access the translation option, you have to right-click the selected text using a mouse or touchpad. The keyboard’s right-click key, however, doesn’t open the context menu for the selected text, so the translation option isn’t available. This makes it inconvenient for keyboard-focused users.

It would also be very helpful to have built-in pronunciation for selected text. I tried several add-ons that offer this, but none worked reliably. This feature would complement translation nicely.

Finally, it might improve usability to show a small popup button beside selected text to trigger translation—similar to what some translation extensions already do. While I personally prefer keyboard shortcuts, this could enhance accessibility for others.

Firefox is ignoring my preferred language and using the Japanese versions of every single website I go to. My only preferred language is English, there is NOTHING else. This has been happening for months now, and the only way I've found to deal with this is to turn on a VPN, and I don't want to have to turn on a VPN every time I'm using this search engine. Just to add extra information, I live in Japan, this wouldn't happen if I were in the US, but I'm not in the US, and the search engine knows that, and keeps putting me on Japanese websites. This is getting really frustrating and it seems like the settings cannot do anything. Also I am aware there is a translation feature, but it takes long to load depending on the page, isn't accurate, and doesn't translate everything.

I usually want spellchecks "English (United kingdom, large)" and "German (Germany)" active. Every few days to weeks it changes to a (single) random other language instead, like "German (Luxembourg)". Posts I've found elsewhere suggest changing display language (which should be unrelated and is already set to UK English), uninstalling all other dictionaries system-wide (which should not be necessary and is not acceptable), reinstalling Firefox entirely (but that's for cases where the correct dictionary was never selectable, I can select it, it just doesn't stay for long) or issues with syncing with other devices (but I don't change that setting on other devices, either). How do I stop spellcheck from changing and why does this even happen?

In Settings>General>Language, why is there an option to "Use your operating system settings for “English (Zimbabwe)” to format dates, times, numbers, and measurements." . I can't find any documentation for this. Is there an interesting 'Zimbabwe' format or feature? If so, what is it?

Do I need to add an email filter?

Firefox ignores my setting for English language. It decides to use the language of the country that I am traveling in. I tried to go to settings and make English my language. Firefox ignores the settings. It loads pages in languages that I do not understand. How can I make Firefox use English if it is already set to English in the Settings?

In dem Sie das update in der bisher genutzten Sprache (Deutsch) ausliefern. Der Versuch den Firefox V143 auf Deutsch umzustellen ist mit der Auskunft gescheitert das Firefox V143 nicht mit "deutsch" kann. Wäre gut wenn sie einen Pätsch nachschieben der den Firefox in Deutsch auftreten lässt.

Starting yesterday, browsing to the ebay.com url resulted in Korean language text being displayed per the attached screenshot. The same continues today. I tried the ebay options of changing language by choosing a national flag. Choosing the US Stars and Stripes made no difference; I still got Korean text. I tried disabling my VPN; it made no difference. I tried choosing the Canadian Maple Leaf flag and got English text but Canadian prices.

I tried to report the problem (in Firefox) using ebay's contact links; but those links require logging in. I could not because I could not pass the Capcha challenge while remaining in Firefox.

Thinking that the problem might lie with Firefox, I loaded and used the Brave browser. Not only did I get US English and prices straightaway, I was able to login with ebay and report the problem. My VPN is active and has been since I loaded Brave.

Because I have these problems only while using Firefox, I came here to report the problem and ask for assistance resolving it.

The Russian language is not listed in the "To" part when I want to translate a page. Although it IS listed if the page is in Russian, so it suggests to translate from Russian to some other language. The language is installed in settings.
