It is with deep regret to inform you of my discontinuation of the use of Firefox.

My issues began at the beginning of February this year and have continued and compounded to the point that I cannot continue its use. The issues are constantly logging me out of my account, disabling ALL my bookmarks and the loss of well over a hundred passwords. I have followed every help article and community forums help links and to no avail I'm still dealing with all the same issues. I've have to restore my links every time I'm logged out of Mozilla. Their are no passwords to restore except for the Mozilla account I just had to log back into.

Again, I do regret discontinuing its use. I have used this browser for well over a decade and I am not one for changing anything at this point in my life. I'm 67 and having to switch is indescribably painful. I actually think your integration of AI functions are the problem. Everything was just fine before that was introduced.

i was tired of chromium browsers being an absolute mess so i switched to firefox. now it seems firefox is headed the same way, very disappointing but sadly unsurprising. i guess i'll have to find a new one to use

Just wanted to add my voice to the complaints about further AI being added to firefox. Firefox as a browser is a refuge from the enshittification of the internet as a whole, with it being one of the few non-chromium browser options, please dont join in the effort to force AI on everyone. At the very least it shouldnt take multiple options to disable AI in my browser. But at best I would love to see firefox development focused on performance rather than more AI bullshit that only CEO's want.

Firefox is already a product that works and is probably the best alternative to any of the other major browsers out there. It's a product that I've been happy to use for many, many years. So why is it being ruined by this needless push to add in "AI"? I don't want it. I don't want any part of it to touch my experience using this browser. I want either an easy way to completely turn it off so it can't suck up my data and expose my private information, or not have it be included at all. I will actively be looking for alternative browsers if these plans continue.

For those of us that do want to use AI for work performance enhancement purposes, I have a question and also a comment for the Development Team. Here is the scenario real quick. I use Mozilla Firefox as my trusted browser today and that means that I open other AI systems such as ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini, etc. within this browser and could at times be running multiple browser sessions at the same time. My question is, will the Mozilla new AI Features attempt to try and compete with my other chat sessions for data capture, response and participation if I keep portions or the whole system enabled? The last thing I need is Mozilla AI as the selected browser now interfering with my other work flow processes in anyway including just listening along which would significantly increase the amount of resources used to run the Mozilla AI in parallel with other AI systems on my computer. I have heavy work loads at times and am already experiencing browser delays in processing data (even when setting up separate project chats for specific tasks) because of too many added features within all of the AI systems like historical chat session quick links on the right side of the screen. That's a ton of data that ends up getting stored/cached, referenced and processed with each command executed. I don't mind using Mozilla AI within the browser for general personal surfing and Q&A purposes but I can see this potentially becoming a big issue for us creators working with large image data processing tasks in other AI systems via the Mozilla browser. I will unfortunately be turning all of these Mozilla AI features off to start because I am not sure there really is a clear separation path for resource allocations within the browser now keeping my experience fast and efficient. Most likely this will force me into using a different browser product for personal vs business until things are much clearer. Hoping to learn a little bit here and see that things like this are being taken into consideration, even if it is a product roadmap enhancement for release sometime in the near future. I am firmly against the application of AI into Firefox as a browser. If the supposed plans to integrate AI into Firefox come into fruition, I will not only look at installing another browser, but I will personally go to every person I know and advise they do the same. I will not support the business model of a company that puts profit above the wants and needs of its customers. I would hate to see the good name of Firefox be lost to misguided efforts to follow the AI hype to it's detriment.

I, among many of my peers, have spent the last few years struggling to get rid of unwanted AI in our lives and computers, scraping out information and invading our privacy like a virus. So many Firefox users chose Firefox BECAUSE it had no forced AI. We chose Firefox BECAUSE it doesn't steal our data or invade our privacy.

We have trusted Mozilla for years and heralded it as the only good browser left. We're begging you to not do this. The AI bubble will pop. Everyone is mad about this. Do not do this. Please.

I started using Firefox... well, before it was Firefox. In the early browser wars, I was a devotee of Netscape. After high school, Firefox became a thing, and I was an early adopter. For years I eagerly spoke of the glories of the open source browser, and even when Chrome came around with its "new hotness", I stuck with Firefox. It was, I reckoned, just better.

However, something has happened which has shaken my faith in the browser - and in the Mozilla foundation entirely. As the whole internet screams "WE DO NOT WANT AI", as Valve gets endless kudos from its userbase and a reputation as "the only good monopoly" because it forces its game listings to have disclaimers if AI touches games in any way, and as it becomes known that ChatGPT is pushing teens to suicide...

Mozilla has decided "hey we want that in our browser!"

This is the greatest betrayal of a userbase I can imagine. LLMs are the antithesis to the open-source, "you can see what goes into it" mindset that Firefox has had for over 20 years. It is bloat. It is built on plagiarism - by default, all LLMs are built by scraping huge amounts of data that their designers do not own.

Thankfully, there IS a branch of Firefox that does not use AI - the Waterfox project - and I will be turning my attention there. But mark my words - by deciding that the last holdout against putting AI in everything SHOULD put AI in it, you have soured an incredible amount of the goodwill that you have built up.

My personal recommendation: Fire the idiot who made this decision and replace him with ANYONE who has a modicum of sense in the Foundation.

As a last comment, I will say that I am ending it here because I believe this says enough of what I am thinking and feeling at the moment; if I was to say everything it would be approximately 90 pages long and be 35% obscenity by volume, and I don't think the forum rules allow that. For a long time I have been using Firefox, because of its performance and customizability. I detest that modern companies have to shove AI into any program even where it is uterly useless. I already don't like the current AI that Firefox has already added. Firefox has alreay lost a lot of my trust in recent years. Should Firefox continue with adding more AI features, I will be switching to a better browser.

Why is Firefox leanining into this ai nonsense? Its antithetical to privacy amd security, it slows down the browser for no benefit, so i end up jumping through hoops to turn it all off. If I wanted AI, I'd be using chrome or edge. I don't want AI. If firrfox continues to shove this ai onto us i'll have to switch again. Its self sabotage at this point

I saw an article claiming that Firefox/Mozilla's new leadership wants to go the same route as every other browser I've gone out of my way to stop using - to implement unnecessary AI wherever possible.

Is this true? Why?

I do not care if someone else wants to browse without actual search results, if someone wants to have their messages readily typed, or if someone only wants to have guesstimated generated summaries instead of actual snippets from websites. I do not care if someone else wants to have arbitrarily sorted bookmarks or whatever else it might be AI is supposedly good for.

I do not need or want any of these features in a web browser. Why does firefox think it should be the new default?

I have already manually turned off all the AI tools firefox offers this far - and I have been thankful for the option to do so! So now, if even this 'big' optionally somewhat AI free browser is genuinely going the forcefully unintelligent and frankly really pushy and overbearing and bloated way of all the others, I'm kindly asking for suggestions of other browsers to use in the future.

I've used Firefox for a long time because it's been one of the few browsers that doesn't force features that harm its users onto the userbase. It's been leagues beyond the majority for that long time! The introduction of AI features over time has been a bell ringing for the loss of that thoughtful approach to aiding the users. AI in browsers has been used by malicious third parties to steal the data of anyone who visits specific sites, it's prone to misinformation when used to summarize anything, and simply doesn't add any value to the browsing experience. It gets in the way and slows it down, even! If more AI features are added, I will be finding a different browser to use.

I'm deleting this browser, and I'll re-download if the CEO is removed and the AI plan is scrapped.

The Mozilla CEO making Firefox an AI-driven browser is the antithesis of why I used Firefox to begin with. I recognize this is a loaded question, but I am still driven to ask it: Does Mozilla want to keep their users?

As a stakeholder, I am unhappy with Anthony Enzor-DeMeo's ideas to incorporate more AI into the Firefox browser in the future. Most internet browsers are using AI nowadays, and I think Firefox's lack of AI makes it a very appealing browser for users. This is because new AI technology annoys many people. As other browsers continue to incorperate more and more AI, this will increase Firefox's appeal for users who are annoyed with AI.

Overall, I think Firefox will be a much better browser if it does not incorperate AI. It will mean a lot to me if these concerns are taken into account. Thank you for all that you have done.

I use Firefox specifically because I appreciate(d) the flexibility and the privacy. Default AI makes it significantly more difficult to customize the browser to my preferences (ie, zero AI anywhere) and threatens the privacy that Firefox is known and recognized for. This is an absolutely incomprehensible decisions; it is no longer a "trustworthy" browser if it incorporates AI. Why ruin a good thing??

I use Firefox because it has better privacy and it's faster/more lightweight than other browsers. Now, more and more AI features are showing up, which harm both privacy and efficiency. If I wanted AI in my browser, I would go use any other browser. I use Firefox specifically because it doesn't do things like this, and I'm very disappointed to see it turn into every other browser full of AI.

I have been unable to find an email address, so I am turning to this forum to express my disgust at the incoming CEO's comments, namely "Firefox will remain our anchor. It will evolve into a modern AI browser and support a portfolio of new and trusted software additions."

Firefox's appeal as an alternative to Edge, Chrome, etc. is its respect for user privacy and control. Adopting AI tools into the browser itself is a betrayal of that respect, and will eliminate Firefox's advantages over rival browsers. If users want an AI browser, they already have that option. They want, instead, a browser that allows then to control their own experience and data. I beg the Mozilla foundation to actually do some research into your own market so you will learn that people hate LLM slop in their internet browsing.

Adopting AI tools will damage Mozilla's reputation as an organization worthy of respect. What's more, it will contribute to the further erosion of trust in information on the internet that AI has caused, because *LLMs lie and steal*. This is more than just a market mistake, this is an ethical mistake.

There is still time to change course. Do not follow Chrome and Edge into AI delusion.

With the new terrible CEO, there are plans to start integrating AI into firefox. If this happens, I'll ditch this browser in a heartbeat. Its a terrible decision to add this and this AI bubble will burst.
