From around 5 months ago when I download "any type of file", I sometimes get an empty dialog box except for the very top line "opening xxxxxx.xxx". i.e. there is no "You have chose to open....What should firefox do with this file, open or save file etc. " Usually this corrects itself when I try to download the file again. I am running Win 10 / My current FF ver 70.0b7 (64-bit)

But whenever I create a new window I always get "Changes to your Firefox profile" page asking me to sign in, not my home (which is Google). (If I hit the Home button, home page comes up.)
Why does the new window not understand I'm logged in? What's wrong?

I got updated by Firefox release 69.0.3 (64-bit), it went all right until it restarted. Some profile windows appeared, asking whether to import or not previous data. Default is no to import, I chose import as I like the browser to give hits of browsing.
The result, all browsing history was deleted. I've got recent backup files, copied the full profile and used Profile manager. As soon as Firefox r69 runs, places.sqlite is renamed to places.sqlite.corrupt Passwords and bookmarks where restored.
It seems that r69 uses a diferent database schema, thus historic information is not transferible. Import tool only shows options to import history from explorer and chrome.
Is there a tool to import browsing history from Firefox previous releases?

Actual results:
The Firefox updated successfully but can't open the firefox application. It seems like the application is dead. Once i reboot the machine the application works fine without issue.
Expected results:
The firefox should works fine after updated without reboot.

I looked at replacing key3. V70 has Key4 and I am extremely pissed off about this. Why oh why do the updated keep rolling out so often without being bug checked?????

I deleted the FF download I had been using because I was having an issue where my bookmarks bar wouldn't show up, the max/min/close buttons on the window wouldn't appear, and nothing I typed would appear in the address bar. This was a clean download where I deleted FF from the applications folder.
The new download works fine if I double click the application directly in the download window (where it prompts you to drag it into the applications folder) and then sync my account to get the bookmarks and extensions back. Once I do drag the application into the applications folder and then try to open it from there, I am stuck with the same issues described above with an unresponsive address bar and no min/max/close buttons.
I've attached a screencap of the problem window and the "download window" in case either of those things were not clear.

Now when I try to toggle the extensions.checkCompatibility.17.0 boolean into the “false” position, it readjusts itself into “true” after each restart, making it impossible to force those extensions as compatible.
Why is this happening and what can I do to make it stay at “false”?

Recently though the large picture files, 1 MG or larger will show slow download speeds and will not fully download. Using GoDaddy for email, checked with teck support and trouble was not on their servers. When opening the file only about 15% of the picture will download and the remaining percentage appears a grey tone. Cleaned up old download files, downloaded most recent updates, Firefox 17. Still no luck with the larger downloads. Anywhere I can adjust the download speeds of my larger email files? Any clues as to what is going on?

I Downloaded and installed v17 beta on my desktop (W7/64). OK I noticed later that the version had changed without doing anything (moved back to v16.0.2, and displayed in Afrikaans).
Note that a second drawer is installed under Program files X86 (Mozilla maintenance service)
I uninstalled both drawers (Firefox & mozilla maintenance service) several times through windows control panel. Every times remain some leftovers (e.g desktop icon, and the drawers listed above , but they are generally empty) I tried cleaning registry afterwards (Tuneup utilities, Ccleaner) and even reboot the machine)
And it's always the same story: Firefox icon re-appears on my desktop, and can be normally opened . The software is always displayed in afrikaan language .
Moreover, I noticed (when I try to open the drawer (program files X86) that windows explorer freezes.
I had same problems on 2 windows 7 partitions, same computer. But never under windows 8
I really could do with a bit of help. It looks as though this piece of software is corrupt, and I really don't understand how it can manage to reappear a couple of minutes after being uninstalled . Otherwise it's not a genuine Firefox version ?
