Been using firefox for a long time now i cant get the program to open up after uninstalling and reinstalling and trouble shot still can get the program to open.
loads main page, stops responding than pulls up crash report, i have reinstalled, restarted my computer many times

- Had 3 windows open with numerous tabs and tab groups - Firefox sync was enabled, as well as a 2-3 plugins AFAIK - Version installed is latest as of this writing 139.0.4 - Initial crash caused by opening and quickly closing (IF that succeeded before crash) a onedrive share link - Cannot start firefox any more, also not in safe mode - the only thing that works is launching it with a fresh profile.

I have a laptop with an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS CPU, including a Radeon 780M iGPU, running Ubuntu 24.04. In order to fully utilize the GPU by supporting OpenCL acceleration I installed the additional drivers by: `sudo amdgpu-install --usecase=graphics,multimedia,opencl --opencl=rocr --opengl=mesa`
After that programs which benefit from OpenCL acceleration recognize the GPU, however firefox starts crashing with the following error msg:
XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /usr/lib/firefox/libmozgtk.so: libwayland-client.so.0: failed to map segment from shared object Couldn't load XPCOM.
It seems that the AMD GPU drivers registered their libraries in `/etc/ld.so.conf.d` as 10-rocm-opencl.conf, 20-amdgpu.conf which means that libraries within the given folders are found first.
This applies to the libwayland-client library, which is used by `/usr/lib/firefox/libmozgtk.s`:
ldd /usr/lib/firefox/libmozgtk.so | grep amd libwayland-client.so.0 => /opt/amdgpu/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libwayland-client.so.0 (0x00007013767bf000)
Interestingly the same `libmozgtk.so` library is used by thunderbird:
ldd /usr/lib/thunderbird/libmozgtk.so | rg -i amd libwayland-client.so.0 => /opt/amdgpu/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libwayland-client.so.0 (0x00007d44b0f41000)
However thunderbird just works fine, so I expect that there might be something wrong with firefox utilizing this library.
Maybe I should also mention, that I'm not even using wayland as desktop compositor, but good old x11:

I’m suddenly unable to open Mozilla Firefox at all on my Windows 11 Pro (version 25H2) Surface Laptop. The browser never launches - every attempt immediately crashes and opens the Firefox Crash Reporter.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox (and removing the old application files, though the original Firefox program folder has 13 .tmp files inside a “tobedeleted” folder that I can’t delete), but the issue persists. When I try to install or uninstall Firefox, I get the same behavior: Firefox never opens, and I end up with multiple instances of the Crash Reporter popping up instantly.
Tried renaming firefox.exe as well to no avail. Chrome and Edge are working fine.

This is the first time Firefox has failed in years. There are no instructions for this specific problem. FWIW I just installed AURA seemingly without problems.

I opened Task Manager and could not find any instance of Firefox or Mozilla running. I uninstalled Firefox and deleted all the files and folders having to do with Mozilla and Firefox. I am having Firefox crash on startup much like Firefox Desktop crashing on startup, initially in version 140, but I have downgraded to version 139 in my troubleshooting and I'm getting the same symptom.
It is frustrating that this does not seem to leave any records in the Windows event log or the Firefox crash reports, and that the fact that there's a known issue of this severity is rather hard to find.

Firefox has begun to instantly crash after opening. This occurs constantly, even though fresh installs, even if I run as administrator. It is the only application doing this, which is beyond weird. It seems to have begun happening after I opened a notepad file. Which seems ridiculous to me but that's when it initially crashed. If more information is required, please let me know, but I cannot even access say, crash logs.

I have tried deleting and reinstalling it, but it didn't really uninstall completely. I have tried a few suggestions from online, which didn't work. I also tried right clicking on the Firefox symbol and went into some of the different options, but nothing worked for me.

After installing Firefox on a new Windows 11 computer, when I click on the Desktop icon, a Firefox window opens but it doesn't open previous Tabs and the Application menus does not work. I can open new Tabs though and it downloads websites. If I click on the Firefox icon on the Windows Taskbar, Firefox operates normally.
Why doesn't the Desktop icon start Firefox so it works correctly?

Firefox icon just bounces around, I have to force quit to stop it. I DO NOT WANT THIS TOOL BUT I WANT TO USE FIREFOX. Hello! I am an avid user of firefox (especially with adblockers) on a windows 11 PC. Unfortunately, I have recently been experiencing an issue where when I attempt to open firefox, a window will open for a split second before instantly closing again. My PC is up to date, I have tried refreshing firefox and doing a clean install, but cannot seem to overcome the issue, or even open it in safe mode. Does anyone have any advice?
