This is Firefox 142.0.1 on Windows 10. I prefer to have a local copy of the Firefox profile saved to a USB stick as a simple backup and for copying to another PC if necessary. I have been doing this for years, but now I am unable to do so because Windows gives me an "access denied" error for all of the files in the top-level profile directory. I cannot even open them in Administrator mode. If I try to copy the profile directory as described in your help pages, it says that I need permission from the account that I am logged in as in order to access the files! I have been using Windows since version 3.0 and I cannot understand what Firefox has done to make the profile inaccessible to everything but itself. Obviously, Firefox is able to read the files without additional permissions, so why can't I?

I used to have the camera and microphone on video conversation using the instant messenger on Firefox browser, but now it says "camera and microphone not supported by browser". So I tried to fix it thru setting, privacy & security, accessibility - camera & microphone, but no joy. Can somebody plese show me how to fix it. thanks.

I often browse photo-heavy websites, for example, Fashionismic Fashionismic

, which has lots of hairstyle galleries. On Chrome and Edge the pages load smoothly, but on Firefox I sometimes notice lag or higher memory usage when scrolling through multiple images.

Is there any Firefox setting (like hardware acceleration, image cache, or media decoding) that can help improve performance on pages with many photos?

Would using an image optimization extension help?

Are there specific about:config tweaks recommended for users who frequently view image-rich sites?

I really like Firefox and want to keep it as my main browser, but smoother handling of photo galleries would help a lot. Any guidance would be appreciated.

What can you do about it?

player.vimeo.com has a security policy called HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), which means that Firefox can only connect to it securely. You can’t add an exception to visit this site.

The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it.

I want to sync bookmarks between my private and business PCs. I want to transfer bookmarks from my personal PC to my business machine, but I don;t want to transfer any bookmarks from my business PC to my home PC. Can that be done?

I can access Gmail via Chrome, but using Firefox I'm told my account is temporarily unavailable (for three days now). The dashboard says there's no problem.

I am moving from an old (2013) Dell PC to a brand new Windows 11 machine. All of my passwords, credit card numbers, contact info and log-in information for websites are stored in Firefox. I would like to preserve those settings when I upgrade to my new computer and do not know how to do that. Please advise.

non my my bookmarks and passwords are on my firefox and i reformatted my pc, i have never had a issue like this ever, and yes im signed into the same email i have always used and didnt do anything different

With respect to problem of latest FF update interfering with spell check on outlook mail, am i okay to assume that FF will fix this problem soon and just wait until they do that? There has been suggested a work-around remedy but since i am computer-challenge i prefer to wait and let FF do Its Job as it has done so wonderfully in past as i have used it for decades.

SInce a recent Mozilla Update, the link in a One Drive email will not open in Firefox. It will from the Outlook email in Chrome. The Microsoft support person said the problem is with Firefox and that other persons are having the same problem. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO SO FIX IT?? I have gone to Setting, Googled the problem and followed various suggestions and nothing has worked.

  Do I just need to wait until the next Mozilla Update?

If you’ve followed a link from another site for an extension or theme, that item is no longer available. This could be because:

GOOD MORNING, perhaps it is not clear since you updated your browser and introduced your translator for web pages, the translation does not work, it does not translate. I added some extensions, but I cannot configure them as the main translation system. So, if I have the option to change the translation system, I will do so, or I will change my browser.
