I even tried running in safe mode but the problem remains. If I copy an image from anywhere - Discord, a website, the snipping tool in windows - and go to paste it into Facebook/Plurk/anything similar, it doesn't work.

This works perfectly in Chrome and used to work perfectly in Firefox. This is becoming infuriating. I can't even do 'take screenshot' and have it paste.

Every time I open anew a page it invariable displays the page somewhere mid-way down requiring me to scroll up to the top (if page is large enough to warrant a scroll). I'd prefer every page open at the top at all times. Is there any switch in the configuration editor that would allow for this?

right now, using this form for typing the question, I can see that typewriting spelling is perfectly working

but if I go to gmail web, and I try to spell check , it neither shows the option in the right click menu

- cleared cookies and all the data cache. This didn't solved the issue - went to menu Help->Others Info and Problems Resolutions->Restore Firefox. This didn't solved the issue

so now I begin to believe that Gmail is disabling the spell checker

Can you tell something about this?

Last 4 days streaming on X, Locals, Blaze TV, even Spectrum TV have failed to load, limited access, or locked up. Update error? All these problems go away when I switch to Microsoft's browser, sabotage? Firefox has become pretty much unusable.

Whenever I open a local HTML file, Firefox tab will crash. This happens if the HTML file size is big (>4MB), smaller file doesn't crash.

I've tried opening the file on Chrome, it doesn't crash and open just fine. So it seems like this is a bug with Firefox.

I've been unable to click through links in Thunderbird. It appears to be because Firefox refuses to be my default browser. When it asked whether I wanted it to be my default browser I answered yes, but then got a blue message saying I should go to settings/default apps. It has never done this before. I can't use Win 10 Settings because it doesn't do anything because it has been corrupted by a power cut. But this has not been a problem before because Firefox has always made itself the defealt browser when requested. I have tried doing it via the menue but I get the same message. So it appears, either Firefox has changed, or Windows 10, preventing from Firefox doing it itself. I haven't used any other browser. Edge was not set up. Any suggestions?

On fully up-to-date Windows 10 Pro desktop, Mozilla 123.0 fails to fully update to 123.0.1, leaving behind several obsolete files and an additional version under Control Panel>Program and Features. This issue has been ongoing for at least three software updates. Only simple solution is to fully uninstall, clean directories and register and reinstall. Fairly inconvenient.

I have some Bookmarks on my laptop. I have some of these Bookmarks (Not all) on my tablet, plus some other Bookmarks.

If I sync them, which direction does the sync work in? Will all my Bookmarks on my laptop now appear on my tablet (Which I do not want to happen)? Will all my Bookmarks on my tablet now appear on my laptop (Which I do want)? Will I end up with two copies of most Bookmarks, because all my laptop Bookmarks are transfered to my tablet, plus all my tablet Bookmarks are transfered to my laptop?

I cannot find any explanatioin of what Sync actually does.

I have Weather Network among my regularly used bookmarks at the top of my screen, but this is the only site that causes a video crash. If I click on Weather Network, I get to the main page and usually a video will start to play as I scroll down. If I scroll past the video, it changes to PIP in the bottom right corner. Once I close Firefox, my mouse cursor freezes for a moment and then all 4 screens go blank. They try to come back on, but usually just flash and I only see a portion of what I should see for a brief moment before it goes blank again and continues this cycle. I try to use Task Manager, but I only get the Task Manager dialogue box with no text, just the window with a coloured background. If any thing does finally come up, I usually restart Windows Explorer and all of my problems go away, but most of the time I have to to a full restart of the PC. I did manage to get video of the crash on my phone.

An addon I downloaded added Smart Ad Block. It's been spontaneously redirecting Google to Bing and about:addons redirects to about:blank. The addons list will not appear so I can't remove any addons or extensions. I previously thought that Microsoft Co-Pilot was redirecting me. But I looked at the "Back" list. The redirect showed "search.smartadblock.net".

I want to disable media controls overlay without disabling media keys. I wandered in config but couldn't prevail with said subject. Its a nice feature unless I have to stop a quite few times then its just a blockage for my much needed viewspace.

I have cleared cookies, cache, temp files, updated, no translation settings are enabled. repaired and even removed and installed Firefox again. When I click on my Google mail quick button or even just type the URL in to get to my mail. The language displayed appears to be Chinese? The URL for the site shows "zh-cn" I'm in the US, no VPN, no proxy.

Additional troubleshooting:

Tested with Chrome and it appears to be working fine.

When Firefox first runs, it works properly. All menus appear properly. At some point after use, a hour or so, all the menus stop appearing. The main menus, right click context menus, hamburger menu, all stop showing up. Even the pull-down menu on this website for "Which topic best describes your question" fails to appear, though I can select an answer by clicking on it and using he down arrow.

Hardware acceleration does not affect it. The problem occurs whether it is on or off. Nothing fixes it except shutting down and restarting Firefox, and that is only a temporary measure, as it inevitably happens again after some use. z

Updating graphics drivers does not fix it. It has been happening over the last three sets of Nvidia driver updates.

Sometimes the menus temporarily return, but soon go away again. They are gone far longer than their short returns.

Problem. The Firefox browser does not use the hardware root of my video card (Radeon HD 5550 video card). Online video is very slow on some sites (everything is fine on YouTube). There are also artifacts in the form of a flickering horizontal stripe on the second monitor when duplicating the screen (this stripe is very annoying). In the Chrome browser everything works fine after forcibly enabling hardware acceleration (in the Chrome browser I enabled the “Override software rendering list” parameter by changing the switch to the “Enabled” position) in the Firefox browser I changed the “layers.acceleration.force-enabled” parameters from “false” " to "true", but that didn't help. This is an old question, but now over the time i can be more specific with this problem. What i know now in windows 10: - with firefox ESR sandboxie works fine all the time (now I use v 115.8.0); - with current firefox (v123) what happens is, after install current version, every time i open firefox, it works fine, but if i select "pause forcing programs", to change something in firefox, this means open firefox without sandboxie, now the first time i open firefox again sandboxie, it´s freeze, and can´t use for this moment now firefox sandboxie. Only works without sandboxie.

I have been using CSS to change the looks in websites for a while. First, I use the 'inspect' function and then permanently make changes using Stylus.

For a month or so, I have not been able to apply certain custom fonts in either using the 'inspect' function or the stylus extension. Afterwards I tried the same on a fresh new install of Firefox Developer edition with no success either.

The problem in question is that I am able to apply custom fonts with names composed of a single word such as "Times" "Arial" or "Georgia", however, using fonts with two or more words such as "Arial Nova" or "Californian FB" does not work. Oddly enough, the system font "Segoe UI" does work, as to why perhaps this bug was not detected in tests.

In short, I am not being able to use custom css fonts with two or more words in any Firefox desktop setting.

Something is going on with Firefox. Web pages will not load, and the error message is "we could not verify the certificate: reason = timeout".

My internet speed is 400Mbps. I don't have a delay here. I've rebooted the PC, restarted Firefox, and about 3 out of every 5 web pages comes up with this error.

I couldn't even get to the Mozilla support site with Firefox. I had to use a different browser.

What's going on?

I'm using Firefox password manager, which syncs passwords on 4 PCs and 1 Android phone that I use. Getting ready to set up Primary Passwords. Once it is set on one PC, what happens when I go to use one of the other ones, where PP is not set yet? Don't need lock outs or other hassles that I see many users struggle with. Thanks!
