I have found that Firefox does not play some audio files, for instance on Wikipedia and WaniKani, such as the audio on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erhu and https://www.wanikani.com/vocabulary/%E9%9F%B3. When inspecting network activity I can see that an attempt is made to load the audio on Wikipedia, but it does not play. On WaniKani however, no attempt is made. (WaniKani uses .webm for sound, maybe that has something to do with it?) The problem appeared after the update to Firefox 118 and persists in private browsing and troubleshooting mode, but does not occur in GNOME Web.

I am running WikiSpecies on Ubuntu Firefox 64-bit v. 98.0.2.

I used to be able to display a collection of unused files with the used ones but showing a red color indicating that the file was unused (because noone had entered anything other than the file name).

Now, however, ALL files in a directory (e. g., see https://species.wikimedia.org/wiki/Craspedophorus) are shown with the same color, whether they include additional implementation details or not.

Would it be possible for you to restore the "unused" color of empty files? It is bothersome for me to open EVERY file, empty or not, in a directory just to find that most or all of them never have been implemented. Adding a special color -- or other distinctive display -- to unimplemented files would save me a great deal of time.

I am attaching a picture of a typical unimplemented file.

On certain websites I notices I have 'unknown errors' when trying to log in.

Usually this is remedied by either using Chrome or clearing cookies and the cache.

Both of there are inconvenient and result in a great deal of wasted time.

The usual response by these websites is "get Mozilla to fix this".

I'm getting sick of this.

I don't want to switch to Chrome but I will have to if this persists.

Hi, I develop a firefox kiosk application for an IoT device and I'm wondering what setting disables this message?

This message popped up on a release of our software which hadn't applied a policies.json file yet, is it safe to assume it will be covered by the following policy which we have on a later release?

Submitted a report after all these crashes, and I'm at a loss for how to troubleshoot this. If music isn't playing the browser seems fine, and I haven't changed any extensions between now and the last time I played music successfully without crashes. Guessing maybe a recent Firefox update happened?

Currently running Firefox 108.0 on PopOS 22.04 LTS with GNOME version 42.5 and using Wayland.

Submitted Report ID: bp-109245aa-a75f-4c81-8f9d-fec490230115

Looks like the crash is caused by a SIGSEGV / SEGV_MAPERR according to the report, but I don't know where to even begin looking into a cause of that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After updating my openSUSE Firefox package from version 122 to 123 every frame inside each window started to have weird grey overlay of scrollable area. I failed to find any description of such a thing happening, let alone how to get rid of it. I tried removing build-in distro-default preferences and had complete audit of all my custom preferences in about:config but none changed that behavior. I even updated to 124b4 but this also haven't changed anything. Naturally, nuking entire profile is not an option, I might as well replace the whole browser. So, how do I get rid of this thing?

Good Morning, Group!

I subscribe to the IEEE.ORG newsletter.

If I click on their link, it brings up a blank page in Firefox:

https://spectrum.ieee.org/post-quantum-cryptography-nist?utm_source=techalert&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=techalert-07-14-22&mkt_tok=NzU2LUdQSC04OTkAAAGFnAJMEXFrlR7vD0yYOspzMUWdvNdvtGqNnHnbEZI2pUuVQelTwBgCQS3pKCdhLl9XSWiE7boikHvLl6N43J65wa4D-JECtQ23ME38QU_rZMG4

That same link renders correctly in Chromium Web Browser (on Linux Mint 20.3)

By truncating the link to https://spectrum.ieee.org/ Firefox brings up that parent page O.K.

This behavior is not confined to this link in particular. It has behaved this way for some weeks (months?) now, in previous newsletters.

This is not an onerous situation but, if it could be fixed, it would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

- Ralph

Dropdown lists are not displaying their contents when selected on certain websites, including eBay.

I have tried using Troubleshoot Mode and the dropdowns are still not displaying.

Here's an example where I am seeing this behaviour: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255536264049?var=555488018135

When I select the Resistance Level dropdown, nothing happens. It's the same for any listing that has a dropdown.

This issue occurs in both RPM and Flatpak instances of Firefox.

I have tried the same page in Chromium browser on the same computer and the dropdown functions correctly in that browser.

I have also noted the same behaviour on other websites, such as train booking sites, but I don't have any other examples to share at the moment. It isn't an isolated eBay issue anyway.

Any ideas? Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Using Firefox to access TDeasyweb banking appears to work thought the login process, however accessing anything on the web site causes the web site to put me back to the login screen. I am running Ubuntu 22 on a desktop and a laptop with Firefox 121 64bit. I have contacted TD regarding this and the solution suggested was to use a difference browser or disable all the extensions and try again. Does anybody know a REAL fix for this? The problem seems to be fixed if the "delete Cookies" extension is disabled

After the version 110 update, Firefox has issues displaying text in certain pages like Google Calc, PDF forms, online publication readers. The text seems to break up and fade out. Navigating up and down the page often restores the missing text, but not all of it. Suck pages render without issue in Google Chrome. I am using Firefox in a Linux container within ChromeOS (stable channel), but this issue only started after the latest Firefox update.

It appears that the Firefox v. 111 update has solved this issue.

Hello! Please, implement the built-in speed dial, like in Opera and Vivaldi. It's extremely convenient and useful, lots of people need this. I've been using Firefox for more than 10 years and I hate your stupid "Firefox Home" page (sorry) on desktop and Android with icons that add automatically and I can't change and locate. It's inconvenient and completely useless. It would be great if you create something like Opera 12.17 or 12.18 had. In addition, please remove the "close" button in the last tab. I know that I can do it via the "config mode" (browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab), but it's not user-friendly. It's inconvenient when you close the tab just to return home, but the whole browser closes. It makes me nervous. Thank you in advance! You are doing a great job, wish you good luck, and hope that one day Firefox will be more popular than Chromium-based browsers.
