so this new update... removed the 'PIN TAB' option in the search bar??? it's completely gone now, not in settings either. that was a VERY used option for MANY people.... so where is it now?

holy shit boys, what is this pixel-tall gap between tabs and bars

tried applying any standard theme available and currently using my own custom, any visual mode like normal/compact and still this gap is present

hardware acceleration is on

tried reopening FF, fresh windows boot

I do like the ability to customize web pages using usercontent.css. I wonder whether this capability still exists in FF 89. I may become a crotchety old guy and stay on 88 if that feature has gone away.

Updated to v89 this morning. I really really dislike the theme options. Is there a way to use the previous default theme. The new ones are all difficult to read. Quite frankly, I hate the color schemes available. They decrease the visibility of text.

Every time I try to open Firefox it asks me for permission to install Firefox Software Updater. I then say no and Firefox opens with a notification to update to the latest version. I opted out from updates but the only option available is for the Firefox to ask before updating, there is no option to opt out definitively. Is there any solution to stop notifications and installing attempts?

FF home page center search box.

When clicking on it, the cursor blinks as normal. When typing, it defaults to the header search box. Any solution?

I'm not sure if Firefox is aware that their news suggestions are mostly Leftist-Globalist Anti-American Fake News & Misinformation. They seem to be promoting the corrupt establishment, truly frightening.

As of yesterday, June 1, my theme changed in Firefox. It's too light and the dark one is too dark. Can I have the original one back? I've played around with different themes and I don't care for any of the fancy colored ones. I just want the top bar to be a darker gray like it was 2 days ago. I cannot distinguish from the top bar and the tabs now. It all blends as one color. Thank you. Barbara

Hello FF friends, This is a Chinese FF user who last night updated some anti-censorship App which unexpectedly automatically set the proxy in Proxy Server, LAN Settings, Connectivity, Internet Options, IE6. Therefore, when I turned off that anti-censorship App, my FF failed to view any webpage. Before I could understand the true reason for this inability, I had uninstalled the latest FF version 88.01 and then reinstalled this version (or early version), adding backup xxx.default into Profiles (C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\) and making proper configuartions in .ini files, but FF would not work properly, even after trying a few times of un- and re-installations. Guessing the system might have been ruined for improper manipulation, I even restored Drive C from the early backup system (Win 10, which is good) using Ghost 11, and then installed FF again, for a few time. However, no matter what the version installed is, 84.01, 85 or 88.01, they are all "handicapped". I've been using FF for 10 years, and this is the first time I meet this big problem. It is really frustrating... The problems are: 1. No connectivity, while all the other browers are good for viewing webpages. 2. Nearly all buttons, menus are just unfuntional. When I turn off FF, I have to do it via Task Manager by end task. I have collected many pages in Favoriates, and stored many usernames and passwords for useful websites. Therefore I hope you friends could kindly help me with this FF problem. And if it cannot be solved, which I hope not, I would desire to have a solution to properly export data in my backup xxx.default (favourites, usernames & passwords) into Windows Edge and Google Chrome. Since upgrading to FF89 (the new Proton UI) I've noticed a change in behavior when I try to perform a web search from a New Tab. When I try to type a search string in the Google search bar on a New Tab, any character I type immediately appears in the address bar (see attached image) and search suggestions are shown in a drop down under the address bar.

With FF88 (the old Photon UI) I could type my entire search string into the Google search bar and then hit "Enter" to start the search.

Is this a bug in the way that searches are performed from a New Tab in the Proton UI or a deliberate design change? Is there some setting I can change to stop the Proton UI from running my searches from the address bar when I search from a New Tab?

An image of my New Windows and Tabs settings is also attached, and my default search engine at Settings | Search | Search | Default Search Engine is set to Google. Note that I live in Canada and the custom URL for my Home Page is set to Google Canada (https://www.google.ca/), but any searches that runs from the address bar defaults to Google.com (e.g., https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=<search string>).

The recent Firefox update to 89.0 not only removed my favorite theme, but my Pocket icon is missing and no where to be found!!! Why do they keep messing with stuff that works!?!?! Anyone know how to get the icon back next to the Home icon? Thanks

My page action buttons are missing - the 3 little dots that allow me to share, print, etc.

I'm on a Macbook Pro, latest software, latest Firefox, signed in to my Firefox account. I've also reset all defaults in toolbars.

Why is when typing a query in the Google bar, the query is moved to the top address bar? this has not happened before. if the main line is now not written, why is it in the middle of the screen ?!
