Have Outlook365 email - the preview of file attachments, e.g. word, excel, to my emails has stopped working all of a sudden; message is "something went wrong while document preview was being created. Please try again." Is there a setting that I should be looking at to rectify? Browser Version 92.0.1 (64 bit) on desktop, Windows 10. This is only happening in Firefox browser. Have another outlook email using Chrome and the preview feature works! Thx for any insights!

Firefox dies during upgrade process and can no longer be opened

Hi,

While using Firefox just now on Windows 7 as a limited user, it crashed. So far as I'm aware, my version was up to date as of yesterday or so.

When I reopened Firefox after the crash, I checked the About menu item which said that Firefox needed to be restarted to be updated. Doing so disabled the program and I cannot open it.

So I downloaded the installer thinking that I'd have to do a clean install. When I ran "Firefox Installer.exe", it said that Firefox needed to be updated and said it would do that. I have tried that twice now, and both times the updater got about 75% through and just died. I still cannot access Firefox and when I try to run it through the Start/Run menu, I get a message saying that "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You many not have the appropriate permissions to access the item". I have tried looking in C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox and can see firefox.exe, but it will not run and gives me the same "Windows cannot access..." complaint. I tried running it as administrator, and got the same complaint.

I have copied the contents of install.log into the troubleshooting information area below on this page. I tried to copy installation telemetry.json into the same form, but it wouldn't paste into the box and opened a new tab instead.

At this moment, I don't see a way around doing a clean install. That will be a pain in the ass as I had a lot of context open, and would rather not have to reconstruct that, but I see no choice at this moment.

Any suggestions that you have will be greatly appreciated.

Greg

While attempting to do a clean install, I started to uninstall Firefox and was given a message saying something like "Firefox must be restarted complete an update." I tried to cancel the uninstall but could see no way of doing so. I closed the control panel item and I restarted my computer. Firefox came back up and now says that it's up to date.

Perhaps the installer really was finished but neglected to tell me a restart of the computer was required. I'm quite certain that no such message was given and Task Manager told me that the installer was no longer running after what appeared to be two failed attempts to update Firefox.

I'm still confused by what happened, but am happy to report I can now drive on (93 minutes later) and my context wasn't lost. ;-)

The website below is one that my entire company uses on a daily basis and towards the end of last week, all of us using Firefox noticed that we can no longer access this site while inside our own network. Our IT team is unable to find a setting to change or an exemption to add to allow us to use this site.

Is there anything that can be done to have Firefox accept this site's certificate?

"The page isn’t redirecting properly.

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies."

Today I installed update 92.0.1 (64 bit) on Windows 10. Since then performance has been terrible on everything I do - typing, scrolling, opening a tab, etc, response time is measured in seconds and scrolling is very jerky. Other applications still work normally but Firefox is no longer acceptable.

Hi Mozilla & friends :)

Never had this issue before yesterday (Monday September 27th), but it seems Firefox just won't preview my PDF files in Outlook anymore. I've tried all the options in the Settings > Applications menu, but nothing will work.

"Something went wrong while the document preview was being created. Please try again later."

Outlook and Firefox have been my work email/browser combination for the last 2 years and I've never encountered this problem before.

Help?

I can't use the Easyjet site successfully in Firefox

Here is my error

Access Denied You don't have permission to access "http://www.easyjet.com/en/buy/flights?" on this server.

Reference #18.9eb0f748.1633001682.54a86dff

I have cleared all Easyjet cookies. Same result.

I have to use another browser. Zero issues in Chrome or Edge....this is a Firefox problem.

I can use the site up to a point. It allows me to make my selections. The error occurs as soon as I click on "Show Flights".

Any idea what's causing it?

thanks.

So, I started following instructions via this link: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-crashes-closing-or-quitting

I first made sure Firefox and all my drivers were up to date, which they were. Moving on, using Troubleshooting Mode, I have yet to encounter any issues. The screenshot below shows the crash reports between yesterday and today. For some reason it won't let me submit the crash report from yesterday, as well as the first one that happened today. I'm also not sure why there are 4 crash reports generated for 10:05PM on 9/30, because Firefox only crashed once to my knowledge.

Here's the submitted crash report ID's, though: bp-35800b96-f14a-488f-b94d-94fa10211001 bp-ad3476ee-2ceb-4de1-a824-a49a90211001 bp-94812bc3-6e24-4454-a479-a6fc70211001 bp-a238a0fc-37f9-4b5c-b883-eb2cb0211001

And the "Failed" Unsubmitted crash reports: b8ab5181-c940-4177-ad4b-00ef7b99f84a be5771aa-ccc2-423b-b94e-5acbd65ec765

Typically I have these extensions installed, and I've never had an issue thus far: 1. uBlock Origin (also in incognito) 2. Adguard Adblocker (also in incognito) 3. Honey 4. Translate Web Pages (though it's left disabled, unless needed)

Why do I use two adblockers? Because one or the other isn't typically sufficient, and I find those two to work together the best.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I am not a geek, and the documentation about this problem elsewhere in Mozilla support is way over my head. I just need plain language - and maybe visual - instructions on how to stop getting this error message. It never happened until a Firefox browser update a few weeks ago (September 2021). Often if I click the 'try again' button a couple of times, I can finally get through to the website I am trying to connect to, but this shouldn't be happening. It's annoying. I use Avast antivirus software if that's useful info. thanks.

Hi, I've been having issues with Firefox for some time now. Every page I got to throws a NS_ERROR_NET_INADEQUATE_SECURITY error. I cannot fix it by setting network.http.spdy.enabled.http2 to false is because Firefox then starts crashing. In the past I've gone around the error by turning http2 off, but recently, first the developer edition, then after today's update to 91.0-0.1 of stable version Firefox crashes if I turn the feature off.

The developer Edition started throwing NS_ERROR_NET_INADEQUATE_SECURITY sometime in spring, then started crashing in June I think. The stable version followed soon as described above.

I am submitting this ticket from a beta version, which for some reason does not have this issue.

I thought it may be the Linux version of Eset, but removing it did not help. I cannot think of any other reason why am I getting those errors, but it seems I am alone because my colleagues don't seem to have this issue neither on macOS, nor Windows.
