I downloaded firefox yesterday on my windows 11 and I assumed that is my now my firefox browser as default, how can I tell if I have the firefox browser on my laptop?

After a recent migration of everything from an old PC to a new one, the Firefox logo does not appear in any of the HTML file icons on my new computer. They are all blank.

It apparently a problem unique to Firefox, and only involves the display of the Firefox logo. Although the icon is blank, when it is clicked, the document is opened by Firefox.

If I right-click on a blank HTML document icon and select "Properties", to the right of "Opens with:" is the Firefox logo. If I then click "OK", the Firefox logo remains in the "Properties" window, but the icon remains blank.

If I click on "Change", select "Microsoft Edge" and click "OK", the "Microsoft Edge" logo appears to the right of "Opens with:", and the HTML document icon also displays the Microsoft Edge logo.

There is a similar result when I select "Google Chrome", "Internet Explorer", or even "Notepad". The corresponding logo appears in the HTML document icons.

I have attached screenshots of old PC and new PC.

Hello guys, so my Computer crashed and was stuck in a bootloop and I needed to hard reset it. Now my Firefox passwords,bookmarks etc are gone. How can I recover them, they are very important?

I tried to change the download folder for Firefox inside "settings", and Firefox showed that the change did take, even after opening and closing the program again, but trying to download a file leaves me in the old folder again, as if Firefox didn't take what it showed it took. Also, Firefox keeps crashing when I try to download to the downloads folder. Not sure why. Clearing a few items lets me download again, but then, it will crash if I dare keep going. Is there a limit to how much can be in the downloads folder aside from the C drive itself? My C drive is showing 84GB free, in the blue, not red, so what gives?

HI! I've been trying to install Firefox on my new Acer Chromebook by following this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/run-firefox-chromeos. However, whenever i get to the last step, it says "no remote refs found similar to firefox". I have no idea what i'm doing at this point, any help?

bold textI am a longtime Firefox user and it has been excellent. Firefox is my browser. For approx. the last 2 weeks it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to load my outlook for my emails. I have reloaded Firefox and the problem remains. I downloaded Google Chrome and set it up as my browser and Outlook and my emails load instantly. What is the problem with Firefox?

In trying to startup browser I get this message: The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140_1.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem. I tried to uninstall the browser, but it would not let me. Help!

When I click the "restart to update" button it restarts but the button is still there and it's not working. I even restarted my laptop and still nothing. Is there anyway for me to fix it?

Bought a new computer that was supposed to come with Windows 11, but came with Windows 10 and right to upgrade. Set up computer, downloaded Firefox, and it ran fine. after a couple of hours, ran the upgrade to Windows 11. Firefox stopped opening. uninstalled then reinstalled Firefox several times, but each time during installation get the following message (image below):

"C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSVCP140.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc000012f."

Have tried installing with and without defaults, and refreshing instead of reinstalling.

My laptop died but I have been able to rescue the SSD and turn it into a USB connected external drive. I can see all data from my old PC.

I have tried to copy all of my User, Local Apps Data Mozilla Profile data folders to my new Laptop but the data does not appear when I fire up Firefox on the new laptop.

The old laptop folder was c:\Users|Phil, the new laptop is C:\Users\Phill {setup of new PC added a second L to my name}

Is this an issue ?

When Firefox updated on my Windows 7 computer, I could no longer access my email on Outlook.com. I had to revert to an earlier restore point on my computer (and thus the previous version of Firefox) to use Outlook.

It seems like no matter what I do, I can't get Firefox to download files from Google Drive. It loads for a moment, then it says "The page isn’t redirecting properly". I have confirmed that it's only Firefox because I can download files from Google Drive with Google Chrome. I have disabled Enhanced Tracking Protection, selecting the Standard Enhanced Tracking Protection Setting, and even refreshing Firefox. Though, I noticed that it only works on incognito mode for whatever reason.

Need some help with Firefox crashing. System: Windows 8.1 64 Bit instilled on a Samsung SSD, 24 GB free space, 24 Gigs RAM, Firefox installed on conventional HDD (G:\) drive, 1.03 TB free space. This has been the standing configuration for many years, working with no problems.

Problems began with FF update 111.0. Any attempt to download files (.jpg or .pdf) would cause the “save” button to freeze, and after a seconds FF would crash. If an attempt was made to change a setting FF would again crash so quickly it was impossible to attempt any changes. Oddly enough, FF update 111.0.1 fixed the issue (or so I thought) and things returned to normal. I assumed whatever caused the problem had been fixed.

Unfortunately, every update beyond 111.0.1 reverts back to the same freezing and crashing behavior. I have attempted the following with all updates above 111.0.1 in an effort to correct the issue. So far nothing has worked. BTW, Brave and Chrome work just fine.

Cleared out all cache and cookies. Changed download folder Opening in safe (trouble shooting) mode Clean install(s) Disabled hardware acceleration. Putting the entire program on C:\ drive (apparently the newer FF installer does not allow custom installations any more). Checked and updated all drivers

Currently I have disabled automatic updates as none of them have the same freeze/crash issue. I am out of ideas and would certainly be glad to get any advice. At this point Brave is going to be my new default browser. Yes, I know 8.1 is no longer supported but I am not in a position to replace this PC at the moment.

When I start firefox its stand loading for a short time, and then comes with an error that its was unable to load the window, retry or close it. No matter what wepside i enter to use its always the same. This happen a few days ago and have been troubleshooting my self since. now i need your own help. I have reinstalled it, reset settings, taking it off and on the firewall. Removed all plugins for it. and always come to same conclution. I got the latets installer from the wepside, to make sure its up to the newest version.

Before this issue, it ran fine, no issues what so ever. and one day i needed it was stuck on this problem.

I am useing it on a laptop. atm returned to chrome for help.

i am using a loaner laptop right now while i wait for my main laptop to be returned to me. i need my bookmarks so i downloaded the browser & went to log in. i can't find my password & apparently to reset it i lose all my bookmarks which is the ONE THING i need from firefox right now. i am fully logged into firefox on that other laptop (tho who knows now that i tried logging in on my new device). i can't risk losing all my bookmarks. i need some help here, but i couldn't even get help without creating a NEW firefox account. can someone send me a support email to reach out to?

my computer crashed yesterday because my ssd of my computer broke, therefore i had to reinstall firefox. Having done so and looging in, i cannot find my bookmarks, passowords, history, etc. I am sure i had my account always synced.

i would appricate your help.
