Thanks to anyone reading this. I depend on several Firefox addons for my livelihood and need them to work.

The problem: Only a select few of my addons work after installing a parallel (older) version of firefox in a separate Program Files folder I called "Firefox 49.02. (why I wanted to do that: there is a specific iMacros version and some scripts that only work with 49.02, and I wanted to use FF 49.02 to run that version of iMacros while I wasn't using the regular updated version (i.e. FF 72).

I didn't expect my current addons to work in FF 49, so I wasn't surprised when they were disabled for that version.

BUT when opening the latest, FF 72, virtually all my addons were also disabled!

All disabled addons, except for 3 of them (out of almost 100), don't even have a blue switch or a way to enable them, even in the context menu, or the manage page (where you can enable auto-updates and see author details and home page etc.).

I ran a "Check for updates" for all addons, and a couple managed to update and enable, though I'm not sure if they were ones that had a switch.

I've attached a screenshot of the addons page showing some without an enable option beside a couple that do.

Note: All these addons worked flawlessly in this prior to installing FF 49

I've searched everywhere but everything is so saturated with fixing the "disabled addons certificate" problems that happened for everyone who *upgraded*. In my case, I installed a parallel downgraded version and the addon's won't work in either version.

Hope things are clear, sorry if I repeated my self. Please let me know any more information needed I am desperately seeking a solution for this.

DuckDuckGo has bad habit of every now and then asking me to Download privacy essentials again. It's a big ugly add. Couldn't stand to see it. So I uninstalled DuckDuckGo as search engine. Selected Bing as search engine. Shut down my computer. Restarted. And DuckDuckGo still appears as search engine, even though in Options/Search I have clicked Bing as my search engine. How do I get rid of DuckDuckGo once and for all?

I upgraded to Quantum 69.0 64 bit a day or two ago. Today I have discovered that when I go to print a web page from FF, it does not list my home network printer as a choice. I tested other apps, e.g. Chrome and MS Word and Adobe Rdr, they all still show my home network printer in their printer list, and I was able to print to it from Chrome. I have powercycled my printer, and rebooted my WIN7 PC, no help. My home network printer lists as Canon MF4270 Daves Office. My email is daveryan.cincinnati@gmail.com

if I "Open in New Tab", how can I (in that new tab) eliminate the address of the 'opened from' tab which always appears after a question mark?

For example, a BBC news article cites a report from the U.N. Opening the link to the U.N. report in a new tab leads to an address such as “http://www.un.org/budget/?bbc etc” when what I need for citation is to the UN report is just “http://www.un.org/budget/”. In citing reports for an article it is time consuming to open in a new tab, highlight the actual address (but not the ? and referred-from address which follows) then open the actual address in a new tab so it can be entered as a footnote in what I am writing. I would like the address to open in a new tab without the referred-from info.

I think its a Bug. But I want someone to check if it is just on my installation. 1) Go to this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elvis_Presley (as an example) 2) Press ctrl-f to open search bar 3) Write the word "Born" ( Firefox finds it 12 times) 4) Click Match Case and only 2 matches are found. Good. 5) Refresh page (use F5 or the circle-arrow) (Search bar still says 2 matches) 6) Click The down-arrow (Find the next occurrence of the phrase) Now Firefox finds all 12 matches _NOK_ To resolve either: 7a) Press Match Case twice or 7b) Rewrite the search term

Is it like this only for me or for everyone? Thanks!

When I was organizing several bookmarks in my Bookmark Folder entitled "Main Dishes" (as I remember), I believe I double clicked or similar and lost the total folder which contains between 100 & 200 bookmarks! I have not turned off my computer. The closest topic I could find has to do with "Smart Bookmark Folders" which does not seam to apply. If my brain is correct on this, I thought I saw right below the Smart Bookmark folder the appropriate topic regarding bringing back a bookmark folder, but somehow that topic has seemed to disappear. This folder's information has been gathered over a period of 2 to 3 years. I would be so grateful if you could help me. Thank You....Charles Perryman PS...I AM SO SORRY...SOMEHOW THE FOLDER HAS NOW REAPPEARED IN MY LIST OF FOLDERS!!!! I AM SORRY TO TAKE YOUR TIME ON THIS....I AM VERY HAPPY, BUT VERY DUMBFOUNDED!!!!

So many websites have these info bars that stay at the top of the page as you scroll down, wasting valuable vertical space. I can remove them by blocking that element in adblocking extensions but I wonder if there was a way of getting rid of them entirely, perhaps something in about:config? I don't even know how to describe them. Is "floating" the right term or should it be "fixed" or "permanent"? Its hard to find something if you don't know its name!

Clicking on a link to a local file works ok for .odt .ods .pdf etc, but not for .doc or .xls. These cause a "not found" error with a file reference which is truncated. The files in question all open perfectly through W Explorer or through the Open command. This all worked ok in early December, but has recently faulted. The links work ok in Internet Explorer, so the fault appears to be in Firefox v71.0 64 bit running in Windows 7.
