I have Firefox set to "view PDF files in Firefox", but this is not happening with sites like Capital One and Consumer's Energy. these sites are just saving directly to my downloads folder even though I 1) Want to view the file first and 2) if it is going to save a flle, it is set up to ask where the file should be saved.

Neither of these things are happening even though I have them set up correctly in Settings.

Every time I start the computer or reboot and open firefox I discover that it isn't the default browser, as reported in the firefox settings menu. I then go to Defaults apps in control pannel settings and set Firefox as the default which sets the default to satisfy the setting menu which then reports that firefox is now the default browser. The next time I turn on the machine or reboot and check the settings menu I discover that firefox is not the default web browser. How do I set firefox as the default browser permanently so that I won't have to do this each time I start the computer? Thank You.

I am trying to block out the new little "stick marks" that post while I try to log on to a site that that I need to "google" and log on to. I tried to sign out of all the "outside sites" that want to log on, but there are sites that I need to log on to and have done this in the past. I usually go to these sites because they are important to my transacting business, accessing my bank, places I pay my bills, etc. If I want to get to these and order or pay a bill, I have to unblock each one of them??? How do I do that? If a credit company wants to contact me, they cannot do this even if we have contacted each other previously? Really?

How do I undo this already-marked system and get out of it? As you can guess, I am old and not up with the times. Please simplify your answers so a not-technical person can understand it.

Firefox has started making a piercing high-pitched screech when the "save image" and "file update" panels appear. This is a confirmation or alert sound I suppose. It occurs when saving an image from a right-click menu and when downloading a file. Formerly Firefox used the system default sound for this, and that sound is still working in other programs for similar operations.

How can I fix this? Or alternatively how can I disable the sound during such operations in Firefox (or alternatively system-wide)?

Current situation: I have 2 monitors. I have the option of auto hide taskbar in desktop mode turned on. On the primary monitor, when I maximise firefox window( not full screen, the button between close and minimise, looking like a square), and hover my cursor towards the bottom, my taskbar doesn't unhide. However when I unminimise( clicking the middle button on the top right again), the taskbar unhides correctly. Also to note, my secondary monitor works completely fine ie, when firefox is maximised I can unhide taskbar on hovering near the bottom.

Hi, I'm running Firefox 109 on Win11 on a recent lenovo laptop with touchpad gesture and I can't find the way to disable a 3 fingers tap behavior specific to firefox.

I want 3 fingers tap to only open link in a new tab (mouse middle click) witch is working fine and match win11 touchpad gesture setting.

But in firefox, when I'm not exactly on a link, the 3 fingers tap is giving me a round with 2 vertical narrows and a dot (see screenshot below), and then any touch on the touchpad is scrolling the page, really fast if swiping vertically, or slowly if swiping horizontally.

I can't find any about:config parameter about this behavior. I found a lot of discussion about 3 finger swipe on Mac computer but nothing specific to three finger tap and scroll (Like Here or Here)

If someone has any clue, or just the name of this function that I could look for it, I can't translate it right to find anything. Thanks a lot

I'm trying to get rid of these blue selector things. Apologies that I don't know what they're called. They appear at random times and I cannot force them to appear. Just happens randomly it seems when some text is selected.

Can something in the about:config be toggled to disable this?

I have never used a primary/master password. I updated to 109.0.1 on a computer that had not been used for a few weeks. I do NOT sync FF on any computer. "Use Primary Password" is NOW checked on this 2nd computer. (never used or needed before) In order to try to change this, I was required to enter my password. When I enter the password I use to access mozilla support (the only FF password I have ever had), nothing happens and I do not get any options, i.e., forgot password. I have never been requested to enter a password on any computer (to access FF; only to reach mozilla support.) On my primary computer, "Use Primary Password" is not checked, as it should not be. Firefox keeps attempting to access a web site with an unwanted application. The site is mv.outbrain.com and my virus software keeps asking to block the site. The popup is now becoming a nuisance how do I stop it or delete the reference to it

Every time I come across a file and click the link to either open or save the file, Firefox just downloads the file -- THEN it asks me if I want to open it or save it..? It's bugged and an obscene security threat if the browser is so easily willing to download files against my intention.

Before I'm asked, I have gone through the settings multiple times to ensure 'Always ask you where to save files' and 'Ask whether to open or save files" are checked. Behavior does not change according to settings.

Example 1. Click link for a PDF with the intention to open, read, and forget 2. Firefox automatically downloads the file to my download folder 3. Firefox prompts me if I want to save the file or open it

If I click 'open', the file stays in the saved location even though I don't want it to exist.

There used to be icons for the few addons I use like AdBlock Utlimate. Now with Firefox 109.0 in OpenMandriva Linux v. 23.90 and 23.01 or with Firefox 109.0.1 tar.bz2 from Mozilla website they are gone. Problem occurs with Ublock Origin and the DeepL Multi-translate addon also. (I use AdBlock Ultimate or Ublock Origin, not both at same time.)

I do not know if this is something in Firefox or something in OpenMandriva Linux but would like to find out soon if possible.

The only work around I have is to use an old profile. My best guess is that profile may be from time of v. 103-104 or there about.

Bonjour, Depuis une semaine, j'ai ce message à l'ouverture de ma page d'accueil Orange, avec Firefox !! PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR il n'y a qu'avec mon navigateur et pas sur Chrome ni Edge. Avant, j'étais le seul impacté par ce problème et maintenant les trois P.C de la maison le sont. Deux W11 et un W10. En déconnectant le VPN le souci n'existe plus. Merci d'avance pour votre aide.

This is on V109. I really need to be able to choose when an update goes in, Python / Jupyter applications I have running on Firefox can cost me hours of time to re-run if Firefox goes in and restarts itself when it wants to. I used to be able to control this. Has it really been removed, or is somewhere else and the docs not updated yet? Thanks Neil

on other browsers I was able to go to history and see at what time of day I viewed a certain web site. Is that function on Firefox? This came in very handy so Please add this function! Thanks!

Hello! When I turn on firefox in my laptop it always opens in small window, so it is very annoying and it happens every time. I know that, when I reset firefox to fabric settings, problem will go away, but for a couple days only and again it will be. So do you have any idea, how to solve this problem once and for all? Good day, has anybody an idea if and what addon could manage for me redefinition of mouse behaviour. Particularly in my case I want to use middle (wheel) button single click over any text input to perform clipboard paste (but everywhere else the button behaves normally). I had this feature integrated into mouse gestures add on which is no more compatible.

I don't know why but sync button is not appearing in my Firefox settings (image attached). I guess it's because something I've done in settings that has cause this to disappear. Can you help me? Thanks!!
