I'm trying to configure Firefox on Mac using our MDM. The goal is ultimately to control a bunch of settings, but I'm trying to start simple by just installing the 1Password extension.

When I deploy this .mobileconfig file, nothing seems to happen to Firefox. I made this by following the example at https://github.com/mozilla/policy-templates/blob/master/mac/org.mozilla.firefox.plist but it doesn't seem to work and I am not sure how to debug.

<plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>PayloadContent</key> <array> <dict> <key>PayloadContent</key> <dict> <key>org.mozilla.firefox</key> <dict> <key>Forced</key> <array> <dict> <key>EnterprisePoliciesEnabled</key> <true/> <key>Extensions</key> <dict> <key>Install</key> <array> <string>https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/latest/1password-x-password-manager/latest.xpi</string> </array> </dict> <key>PasswordManagerEnabled</key> <false/> <key>ExtensionUpdate</key> <true/> </dict> </array> </dict> </dict> <key>PayloadEnabled</key> <true/> <key>PayloadIdentifier</key> <string>e441f671-148a-4039-a45d-12514e6d92b2</string> <key>PayloadType</key> <string>com.apple.ManagedClient.preferences</string> <key>PayloadUUID</key> <string>e441f671-148a-4039-a45d-12514e6d92b2</string> <key>PayloadVersion</key> <integer>1</integer> </dict> </array> <key>PayloadDescription</key> <string>Installs the 1Password Firefox extension for ease of use.</string> <key>PayloadDisplayName</key> <string>1Password Firefox Extension</string> <key>PayloadIdentifier</key> <string>77dc9f8b-aaee-4f91-93ba-30b81cc6a31b</string> <key>PayloadOrganization</key> <string>Exogee</string> <key>PayloadRemovalDisallowed</key> <true/> <key>PayloadScope</key> <string>System</string> <key>PayloadType</key> <string>Configuration</string> <key>PayloadUUID</key> <string>77dc9f8b-aaee-4f91-93ba-30b81cc6a31b</string> <key>PayloadVersion</key> <integer>1</integer> </dict> </plist>

In previous versions of Firefox (up to version 133), it was possible to automatically trigger printing of a PDF file by loading it into an iframe from a sandboxed iframe and call print. However, starting with version 134, this no longer works.

Is there any other way to automatically trigger the print dialog for a PDF file in Firefox, similar to how it can be done in Chrome/Edge (e.g., by opening the PDF in a new window and directly triggering the print dialog without additional button clicks)?

I suddenly started getting a flood of messages informing me of various security risks and that i needed to click a link to sort this out. Needless to say, I DID NOT click any links. I am only getting these messages when I open Firefox. The messages all link to "securebotshield.co.in". I ran Malwarebytes but it does not pick up anything. I am running the latest version of Firefox on a Windows 11 machine. Please can you help me get rid of this menace?

Thanks

The Help is recommending clearing the startup cache, but I don't know what that is so I can't decide if it's something I want to do. Is it the same place that stores all my cookies and other saved material, or is it something different? If it's different, what does it store and why would clearing it be useful?

Running Windows 11. Receiving notifications from Firefox that indicate system warnings and viruses found. I have run several scans using Norton and there are no viruses. This notification is enticing me to click to remove the errors, which seems to clearly be a phishing scam, but I have never seen this as a notification from my browser as opposed to an email. When I try an option to "disable notifications", Norton blocks it due to it being identified as a dangerous "blacklist URL". I can't find a mozilla setting to block this.

The URL is long but what I can see is the following. via d3nt17anaffc73eqftbg.owx-adguard.pro

Hi,

I take a look to forums and docs but didn't find answer to it : just found informations about the use of firefox -P

Is there a way to change the defaults profile path.

For example, in the profiles.ini :

Name=default IsRelative=1 Path=Profiles/be7er9lz.default Default=1

this is a relative path referring to %appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\[PathVariableValue]

Is there a way to change a config file or config to customise the path for all users a windows computer ?

For example :

setting this variable to \\nameofserver\Firefox\

will made all relatives profiles looking for : \\nameofserver\Firefox\[PathVariableValue]

without this option, I should be obliged to edit all users profiles.ini to change path to absolute

Thanks for your help

When I am working with several open applications I sometimes need to slide the browser window over to I can see both open apps at once. Now when i pull the browser window partially off screen to the right it bounces back at full size. This is frustrating and time consuming to resize again. is there a setting to turn this feature off?

ver: 134.0.1 Windows 10 Pro I have Firefox set to open filetype PDF in Browser. Normally I use IDM which automatically download PDFs, unless I press ALT key while clicking DOWNLOAD button, then it does not, in order to allow Firefox to handle the PDF.

Firefox presently does nothing. With filetype setting set to Open in Browser, Firefox Does nothing. If settings are set to Ask, it does not ask. The PDF filename appears at bottom of screen momentarily.

ver: 115.19.0esr Windows 7 Utl 7601 The exact same behaviour was also seen on a Windows 7 system running Firefox 115.19.0esr. PDF is also set there to "Open in Firefox". Again, when ALT pressed when clicking Download button, Firefox does nothing.

Very often while navigating around the website of a tool I use, I get an intrusive pop-up in the lower right corner. A screen shot is attached.

I first approached the website owner, but they explained it's a browser issue, no a website issue. They did, though, suggest that clearing cookies and cached might help ... But it didn't.

Is there any way to suppress that?

When loading certain pages (on web application) the motion icon starts and after several seconds it changes to the sand clock icon despite the setting described in 'https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1303416' being done - ui.prefersReducedMotion set to 'false'. My work is all done in this web app and it is very important to see when data is being uploaded (grey/black dots) and when the page is supposedly being refreshed with updated data being downloaded (blue/green dots). Why is the preference being ignored and how to fix it so you always get the motion?

Instructions begin with "Click on the three horizontal lines and select OPTIONS." My updated version of Firefox does not have OPTIONS. Reinstalling Firefox did not solve the problem. In OPTIONS, PDF is supposed to be in the list. Opening a pdf file in Firefox did not cause an edit option to appear.

Things like, "set firefox as your default browser" and "open firefox when you start your computer?".

I don't want pop-ups from ANYBODY, but especially not from the browser. It defeats the whole purpose of blocking pop-ups if the browser itself is interrupting me with garbage I dont need.

How do I turn these off? There don't appear to be any settings, and every google search brings up disabling pop-ups for every other site.
