In older versions, there was an option to refuse updates, disable checking and any reminders.

In new versions, you kind of accidentally removed this option. And now a reminder "update update" and a green indicator regularly pop up in the right corner.

I previously deleted all Mozilla servers through the config file, disabled checking for updates. But it still restored the settings and now offers updates again - which irritates me terribly.

I supported Mozilla for many years and considered this browser to be something conservative, it has always been aloof from cumbersome and spyware browsers like Chrome. But your latest actions are disappointing.

The decision to update or not has always been and will be on the shoulders of the user.

I don't care about security policies, patches or bug fixes\Super new features.

I have installed the VPN on Mac Desktop but haven't been able to turn on VPN. The icon is present in the top taskbar but only has options to quit or hide.

Using my laptop: I have Firefox set to automatically update. I believe there was an update several weeks ago. Today I had been working in Photoshop, exited it, clicked on the Firefox tab I had open and clicked for a new tab. A window opened asking me for a new profile for Firefox. It said I needed this because there is a newer version of FF. It was weird. I entered the info and then was asked if I wanted to import bookmarks, etc. from Chrome (I rarely use Chrome) so I clicked to import. My big beef with this is all of my saved url's in One Tab are missing. I use One Tab all of the time so I lost a lot of information.

1) Can someone tell me what causes FF to do this because I had the latest version open?

2) Can someone tell me how to get my One Tab information back?

Last night, my computer crashed while running Firefox and now whenever I try to run it, I get an error message that says "Couldn't load XPCOM" and the browser closes itself.

I've tried reinstalling Firefox multiple times through the uninstaller and by manually removing the files in Program Files and appdata, but I still get this error. If it helps, I also get this error when installing a fresh Firefox installation.

I hope I can get this solved soon because I have a ton of deadlines coming up for school and I'm not able to clock into my remote job, either... Any help is appreciated

I cannot print anything on my computer since this PDF Print appeared. Everything was going along as per normal, now this. How do I get it back to the "normal" situation for me. Receive an email, hit the print button and lo and behold a printed sheet, etc. It is driving me to distraction. I have been using FireFox since whenever, no problems. I'm not too computer savvy but enjoy its use like anyone else. Something I will be able to follow and implement. I have seen a delete article but couldn't get it to do anything for. Your article about the expiration of Windows 10 says that anyone that has FireFox on the Release Channel doesn't have to worry, that updates will continue to support Windows 10. I don't know what that means (Release Channel). And how can I check if that's what I have?

Having just used Windows Update (on Windows 10), the screensaver lock screen comes on with my chosen picture AND four large buttons for weather etc. I didn't ask for the buttons, and don't want them. Is this a Firefox issue, or maybe a Windows issue? Do you know how I can stop them coming on please? (Firefox v. 132.0.2 current)
