I wanted to separate private and work, so I made a whole new account – and associated it with the old one.

Then I found out I could just make an extra profile, which I did – and then I deleted the new account.

But now I can't access or syncronize my primary profile, and I don't know how to separate the two – or preferably just make one single account again, and the do the new profile from scratch.

When I try to log in to my original account with cyber@mikes.dk it says:

Account already in use cyber@mikes.dk is already signed in to the “Cybermikes” profile You can only associate this account with one profile on this computer.

Can you help?

Or to open the profile selection sidebar?

I don't see it in about:keyboard but maybe there's something else somewhere.

If not, what's the quickest and easiest way to switch profiles?

How can I locate other (older) Profiles in the Mozilla Firefox structure and use this to run an older version of Firefox ie: 132 or other Version that I consider to be more stable.

(I have already seen where it is not recommended to go to an older version, once a profile has been used on an updated version. At this time - I feel any damage has ALREADY been done & cannot make things much worse.)

I'm a Chinese firefox user, so the following descriptions are translated and may not be so accurate. And the attached image is also Chinese, if necessary please use a translation app or somewhat to see it. I have only one default profile in my Firefox account, and I have stored a large number of passwords and bookmarks in this default profile. For certain reasons, I signed out of this profile while retaining the local data such as passwords—meaning that, apart from not being logged in, my browser state remains exactly the same as before. Now I wish to sign back in to enable synchronization. I can see a "Sync and Save Data" button prompting me to log in. After clicking this button, I am asked to enter my username and password, but then I receive a message stating that I have reached the account limit for this profile, and that this profile was previously synced to another account. This is absurd, as I do not have another account, nor have I ever synced this profile to any so-called other account. As a result, I am unable to sign in on this current profile.

Здравствуйте, на одном из компьютеров которыми я пользуюсь браузер выдаёт всплывающее окно со следующим текстом " this profile was last used with anewer version of this application. Please create a new profile." скрин прилагаю. на всех компьютерах win10, с чем это может быть связано?

One instance does not have bookmarks and passwords. The machine keeps switching between instances for Default. Machine is Ideapad 1i Windows, 11 64bit. Both Versions of of Firefox Appear to be 155.0.

im loged in to firefox and i want to change from 1 of my profiles to another one of my 3 profile but it wont let me choose on of the other profile it show them to me but cant pick one ?i have work to do and i cant get anythiing done because of this ?

at shell:startup on windows i will open firefox two times (first for multimedia like tv-stream and maston, second for "working activities" like webmail, office online).

How can i open by file explorer link (like in shell:startup) a new tab (newspaper) everytime in instance "first" even if i was using second at last?

This morning when I started up Firefox it had a pop-up about the new profiles feature, asking to create a new profile. Just out of curiosity I clicked the create profile button to see what the interface would look like. Since I didn't actually want to create the profile I hit the delete button, but nothing happened. So I closed the window. I then tried delete the new profile (then called "Profile 1") by hitting the trash can from the choose profiles screen. Still nothing happens. At this point my original profile window is still open, but I close everything to restart Firefox in hopes that it will allow me to delete this profile I never wanted to begin with.

The Choose profile window comes up, I select original profile and nothing happens. I can open the new "Profile 1", which I have since labelled "Bad Profile".

D:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles doesn't appear to have my original profile anywhere.

I'm deeply concerned this beta feature I never asked for has deleted my original profile when it should have deleted the new profile.

I'm using Firefox (149.0.2 snap) with LUbuntu 24.04.4 LTS. Because of a wrong graphic driver, I had to turn off hardware acceleration in FF.

When FF is started the Initial "Firefox - Choose User Profile" is unreadable (see attached : wrong_screen.jpg), but if I continue (click somewhere in the window) , all the opened tabs are readable.

Once in FF, if I want to select another profile from the application menu -> .. -> manage profiles, then the "Choose User Profile" window is fine (see attached : good_screen.jpg).

I tried to start FF with the "-P" option to specify wanted profile but it continues to start with the unreadable "Choose User Profile" window.

Could someone give me a solution, except finding the good hardware driver for my computer?

Suddenly I have to click passed something called a profile screen. Don't want it. totally useless. Absolutely annoying. I never want to see it again. How do I do that?

Firefox kept losing all of my saved bookmarks and passwords. Each time it updated everything would disappear. I went to the folders where the bookmarks and passwords are stored and the profiles were there but Firefox did not list them when I searched (about:profiles). Tried numerous times to move the files to the current folder but the program still could not see them. Tried copying, moving, changing names of files, etc. Finally uninstalled firefox and attempted a new installation but it will not even open because it says it can't find profiles even though there are profiles in the profile folder. Now what do I do?

I have a question about deleting a Firefox profile. When I access the profile screen via "about:profiles," I see two profiles: "default-release" and "Default User." The "default-release" profile is fine because it displays the message "This is the active profile and cannot be deleted." But is it okay to delete the "Default User" profile? Should I also delete the files in the root directory of the C: drive and the local directory? If I delete the "Default User", will it be deleted as well?

I thought original profile would save all my bookmarks, history, passwords, etc. I created a second profile for work, but that also does not contain any of my bookmarks, history, passwords, etc. I imported my bookmarks and other history/passwords from EDGE. I did this in my work profile because I couldn't get my original profile to import anything. I signed into work with my main firefox e-mail and exported bookmarks to HTML so I could upload it in my original profile. The original profile now wont log in and says I need a different e-mail account, so I'll lose everything on my original profile. It is ridiculous that my profiles don't have the same log on and don't use the same e-mail. I need someone to help me recover my system to normal working function. This has been a horrible experience and profiles are unusable.

Hello, I have two profiles, one for work and one personal. I used two different email addresses for them. How can I merge these together for the new profile management?

Do I have to be logged into an account to use profiles? I'm on my work computer on which I don't log into my account and "Profiles" option does not show up on my toolbar.
