I received a pop-up scan code to get Firefox on my phone, but when i scan or take

photo of it it brings me to an on-line survey panel that I am a member of.Is that legit or something to avoid?

When I logged on to my laptop this morning, it appeared that my Firefox was updated. I immediately was inundated with pop up alerts from McAfee. I checked it and learned it was a scam. However, my husband thought it was legit and allowed them to do a scan!!!! He didn’t download any software. What do we need to do?

(I did see the solution to stop these pop ups and have already resolved that issue. I’m just worried that some party scanned my laptop.

It assumes the installation is at "/home/<USER>/bin/firefox/{firefox,firefox-bin,updater}" but mine is "/home/<USER>/.local/share/torbrowser/tbb/x86_64/tor-browser/Browser/firefox.real".

How exactly do I edit the line?

(Latest Ubuntu. I also have Librewolf and Firefox, but didn't see the warning as on Tor.)

Hi I've been using add on Tab Mix - Rename Tab in the past and lately it's no working. Found reason to be permission for "Access local files on your computer", see attached

I can't remember what it was in previous version of Firefox, but want to know if it's safe to turn on permission, guessing there's a reason why it's now off, thanks

For some time now I have been unable to see (or post) any pictures directly in my chats on Twitter (X). I can see and they will post in the main feed but not in my DM (chats) on Twitter. I have no issues on any other website I use. When I inspect the page I get this error: "Cross-Origin Request Blocked: The Same Origin Policy disallows reading the remote resource at https://proxsee.pscp.tv/api/v2/loginTwitterToken. (Reason: CORS request did not succeed). Status code: (null)." If I post a picture in the main feed I can then send it to the chat and it is fine, but I can not post it directly to the chat! If someone in my chat post a picture directly to the chat then I can not see it, but if they repost it from the main feed then I can see it.

I am running Windows 11 & Firefox 154.x I have disable Badger, NoScript and ZoneAlarm (tho not all at once) I have tried installing a CORS workaround plug in (two different ones). None of these thing have helped.

Couple more pieces of information - I don't have this issue on my work laptop or my iphone app. Something on my computer is doing it - but I can't for the life me figure it out.

I USED TO BE BOTHERED BY WEBSITES THAT COULD JUST OPEN A NEW WINDOW ON MY TABLET. I FOUND I COULD BLOCK THEM AND STARTED TO DO IT EVERY TIME I ENCOUNTERED ONE. IT WORKED GREAT! LATELY, I HAVE BEEN GETTING SOME FROM HILLSDALE COLLEGE AND I BLOCKED ONE YESTERDAY. TODAY I GOT ANOTHER ONE FROM HILLSDALE WITH A DIFFERENT ADDRESS AND WHEN I WENT TO BLOCK IT, I COULD NOT GET TO THAT SECTION. WHERE IS IT?

I have used FF on my laptop for many years and AVG AntiTrack on it for 1-1/2 yr without issue. However, today I got a message that appears to be from AVG (but also includes the FF logo) that their AntiTrack is disabled and I need to add it to FireFox, with a "Resolve" button and NO way to close the message. How do I know if it is true or an attempt to hack me? Have there been any other reports of this happening to others? TIA, KBoDolphin

I'd never seen a Windows Security prompt when attempting to view saved passwords before, so I was confused when I saw it for the first time recently. I have a primary password set within Firefox, and I never enabled "Require device sign in to manage passwords" in settings. I also cannot disable this setting without entering my Windows password.

I was alarmed that this may be a malware symptom, as I'd recently connected to a new public wifi network. Is it a known issue for this setting to become enabled by itself? At the time of this issue, I was running 150.0.3. I have since updated to 152.

I am unable to log into my energy provider, when I log into my bank I can't use some features like seeing all my transactions, I can't log into Twitter, I can't play anything from Substack.

Someone claiming to be with Microsoft froze my computer until I answered whether I wanted them to know where I am at. I need protection from hackers like this. I want to be able to do a full scan on my computer.

How can I suppress a recurring pop-up in Firefox that claims my computer is infected with a virus and it instructs me to download McAfee Antivirus to clear it out. I've done multiple scans with my Norton Antivirus which showed I had no viruses. The fake pop-ups appear to be coming from Firefox.

chrome logs onto my email without me entering password, and facebook under firefox stays logged in even when i log out with no password. i neeed help forget the vfb but my [redacted] @gmail.com email is dangerously in jeprody
