I'm having really odd behavior using Firefox (linux) with Microsoft 365 web apps (outlook, word, excel, etc). Its happening various distros too. Is there a known issue at this time with FF and 365 web apps?

   Excel - cell content deletion on moving through cells.
   Word - line content deletion on hitting carriage return.
   Mail/Cal - Webapp not displaying content on double clicking emails or calendar events.

Found a few sporadic similar reports from users on various forums, but no official note that it was a known bug. Assuming it isn't widespread - anyone here have any anecdotal reports of similar issues. Seems to only affect the linux distro versions of FF.

This renders the web app sites unusable with Firefox so I have had to use another browser for these apps. As these apps are ubiquitous with work and productivity, it's rendering Firefox as a second-choice browser unfortunately. No one really enjoys having to "pick the right browser" for work or play.

Is there any way to resolve these issues? Hoping someone has some insight.

So I have an Excel workbook in my onedrive from MS, It was working fine on my firefox browser in my Ubuntu OS, last week it started to delete my cell's information whenever I pressed the enter, tab or arrow keys, I contacted the MS support and they get me to opened the same file on a chrome browser and worked fine... I still want to use my firefox browser but this problem is very annoying, please help me sort it out!!!

Hello everyone, i have Linux/Ubuntu software with Firefox browser and for 5 months it has not asked me to update, with it's pop up message. Now it is urgently asking me to update, i have followed the directions given in order to download the latest Firefox version as instructed but with no success. I am downloading it, but it doesn't have an instruction to "run" it. As a consequence, my system is getting slower and slower and i am afraid it will crush! Any ideas? Sooooos!!!

YouTube keeps putting up the add block detection when I try to play a video. Apparently they can detect Add block Plus. Kubuntu 24.04 Firefox version 130.0 [64-bit] Mozilla Firefox Snap for Ubuntu Canonical-002-10. Add block Plus version sorry I can't find that information.

What settings do I need to get Street View to return the street view rather than a black screen in all 4 of my Ubuntu browsers, when it used to work fine but now is trash ?

Every 1 - 2 hours Firefox stops loading pages and I have to shut it down and restart it and restarting takes around 6 clicks on the icon to get it to start.

Also one time today I lost all my pinned tabs and had to manually restore them one at a time.

Using Ubuntu 24.04.2 and latest Firefox. Cleared cache but doesn't help.

I am facing persistent issues with Firefox crashing on my Ubuntu PC, and the problem has been ongoing for the past 40–50 days. Despite multiple attempts at troubleshooting—including uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, clearing all caches, and other measures—the issue remains unresolved.

I’ve noticed that Firefox works for a few days after reinstallation, but then problems begin to surface, such as a half-screen display. Eventually, after restarting the PC, the browser starts crashing again.

Could you please investigate this matter urgently and provide a resolution? Additionally, I would appreciate it if you could clarify whether this might be related to a RAM issue or some other underlying cause.

For some weeks I have ad an issue with Firefox using 50%-100% of CPU. Normally it is the Firefox process itself, sometimes it is also "Privileged Cont".

OS is Kubuntu 24.04. Firefox has done this across 2-3 versions.

Things I have tried:

Restarting Firefox No change, I'll even get 100% cpu usage with no tabs open

Refresh Firefox to remove settings and addons No change

Uninstall Snap and try direct Apt package No change

Remove ~/.mozilla to fully remove any residual settings/cache/etc No change

Try with and without hardware acceleration See: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1308215 No change!

I would blame my old computer hardware, but Brave runs fine. I am now using Brave, but would dearly like to return to Firefox as I miss containers, and I don't support a chromium dominated web.

Recently I've upgraded from Kubuntu 24.04 to 24.10. I'm almost sure that the minimize/restore buttons were available in my Firefox after the system upgrade. For the last few days I can see they are missing - please see attached images.

I can partly fix the problem by going to Settings->More tools -> Customize toolbar and selecting "Title Bar" checkbox. In that case I have the title bar displayed with all 3 button (minimize, restore, close).

But I would like to have the default behavior: title bar is turned off and the mentioned 3 buttons be visible in the tab bar.

How to have those buttons in the tab bar when the title bar is turned off?

I changed a global setting in the KDE Breeze theme to always show scrollbar arrows. It works in most windows but not in Firefox, which refuses to display them. Is there a way to fix this? It is a major accessibility problem.

Browsing works well on my Ubuntu/Linux 22.04.5 laptop except one site. Images are not loading. I can see it has js-errors which might be related. And that may be because some js files are being blocked. The site does work on my iphone though. And using Browserstack I can see it works with other OS.

apparently, programmers don't understand how aggravating not having backward compatibility is to the rest of us, so please bear with my extreme aggravation here. IF IT AIN'T BROKE, QUIT FIXING IT.

 firefox disabled my addons, thus forcing me to upgrade, and now I am angry. Tried downloading the new version several times. My os is as updated as it can get. Using the APT link from this site, it just shows garbage. Using the download for linux 64 bit link, it makes me jump through hoops and looks like it is working, but it looks different and none of my bookmarks transferred over. Closing it down and reopening it, I see the old version, thus making it look like I am possibly running both versions separately. Once the *all new singing and dancing special that is supposedly so much better than the old that some ignoramus decided I MUST use it instead of the old and functional one* is closed out, I see no way to reopen it. And neither version will enable or allow me to download singlefile. That is the only program I need from firefox at this time.
 Will somebody please show me, step by step, as if I am 5 years old, a back door that will enable my addons, before I go nuts and start beating programmers to death with reams of algorithms?

Firefox does not seem to be properly configured for Wayland on KDE Plasma 6.x systems. The generic "Wayland" logo appears in task switcher instead of the Firefox logo. Firefox is the only program I have with this issue. Setting desktop name (org.mozilla.firefox) as a property in the Window and Application Manager settings does not resolve the issue.

I am using Firefox 127 on Ubuntu.

When I press the Control key, I often lose focus in the window I am currently viewing. This is annoying as it prevents me from copy-pasting for example.

Sometimes the focus is back when I release Control, sometimes it is lost and I have to click again on the text field. It does not happen on all websites, for example support.mozilla.org works well, but it happens on duckduckgo or overleaf.

It does not seem to be the same as existing issues such as [the "show mouse when press Ctrl" of Ubuntu] (it is disabled) or an addon (the problem still happens in safe mode).

In case it is useful, when I press Control the tab bar background goes slightly darker, see attached images.

Hi, I'm using Firefox 142 on Ubuntu 24.04. It's a fresh install. I cannot sign in icloud.com with Firefox even though it works with other browsers like Brave. I deleted all cookies and site data and disabled extensions (KeePassXC). It doesn't help. I tried in new private window. No success. I copy my password from a password manager, so, no, I haven't mistyped it.

Here's what I do:

1. Open Firefox and go to icloud.com
2. Click on the "Sign In" button
3. Enter my Apple-ID and click on the arrow on the right end of the "Email or Phone Number" field

At this point Brave behaves differently than Firefox. See below for how Brave behaves.

Firefox: -> A "Password" field appears (no buttons "Continue with Password" and "Sign in with Passkey")

1. Enter my password and click on the arrow on the right end of the "Password" field

-> Error message "Failed to verify your identity. Try again" appears. See icloud.png

Brave: -> Two buttons "Continue with Password" and "Sign in with Passkey" appear. See icloud-with-brave.png

1. Click on button "Continue with Password"

-> A "Password" field appears.

1. Enter my password and click on the arrow on the right end of the "Password" field

-> 2FA code is sent to my iPhone -> "Two-Factor Authentication" form opens... etc. complete sign in successfully

Unfortunately I cannot attach the HAR file from the login sequence because the password is included. However, I attached some screenshots from the Web Developer Tools. It seems to me that the login flow with Firefox is broken. I can't tell who's to blame, Apple of Firefox. The error message with Firefox is always the same, no matter whether I enter the correct password or rubbish. In Brave, however, there is a more precise error message when I enter a bad password. Hi Mozilla I hav got a problem with Firefox on Kubuntu 24.04.3. Everytime the computer is restarted Firefox crashes the first time it's started. That's not a big problem, starting Firefox again don't take long. But the problems is exceeding. If i start Firefox by clicking a link in a mail in Thunderbird. And Firefox has not yet been started, It crashes, but now it's also invaliding the Task bar on the screen where Firefox was started. Invaliding means that I cannot start apps from that screens taskbar, and the clock has stalled, none of the tools works etc. The only possibility solution I have been able to figure out, is restart (It's like going back to Win 98). Sometimes I am able to start a app from that invalid taskbar. But it's not the one app that i clicked on. Even though I can trigger it via Thunderbird, the invaliding of the taskbar will occur after a while. And I have to restart. I am not sure if this is the right place to post. But Firefox is always involved, but maybe Thunderbird or Ubuntu was the right place? Every time Firefox crashes there is send a crash report to Mozilla, but is has been going on for a while, so i guess that nobody is looking at the crash report. If I use Chromium instead of Firefox I don't see the problem.

Hello! See the screenshot please: so, I downloaded à pay-bill, with Firefox (under ubuntu), in private navigation, and I get the file with a padlock-symbol at the end. What means that? What means that for me (on my computer), what means that for à friend, when I sent him the pdt-file (can he open it?). Nota: I understood that I can choose between "delete downloads when closing the privat window" or not. And I choosed not to delete them (but there appears this padlock-symbol). Thanks for your help! i was using firefox with multiple tabs for most of today, had to shut pc down to run errands. When i restarted pc, firefox would not start, i have it pinned on my task bar/start menu/whatever. I opened my system moniter to see what was going on when i tried to start firefox and the processes do not show up in the process list. I tried a reinstall with the ubuntu software store and no noticeable change in behavior. Not sure how to get into the profile section, the option for it with a right click on the firefox icon does nothing seemingly. Under normal operations i have seen two firefox processes listed.
