I'm using Firefox Developer Edition 143.0b5 (64-bit), running on macOS Big Sur (11.7.10). My bookmarks for Facebook, Instagram, and Threads won't load on the first click. Most of the time I am presented with a blank white page. Sometimes I might get part of the page to show. I have to click on the bookmark a second time and then the page loads completely. This behavior doesn't happen with any other bookmarks I have.

Anyone know why this is happening?

As of a two days ago, passkey functionality in Firefox is not working (v142.0.1 on MacOS 15.6.1). I have a passkey setup with Google, and when I sign in and the popup should appear for the passkey, it no longer does. This also causes Firefox to become unresponsive and must be force-quit. Any solutions?

A few things are going on since I put Firefox on this Mac, and I'm not sure if they're related:

  • I can't import my logins.csv
  • any time I try to save a new login, the little blue "password saved" notification pops up, but no passwords are saved
  • when I try to pair with my mobile, Firefox won't display the QR code, and instead it's blurred out and says "Pairing unsuccessful. Try Again."
  • more recently (last week or so, maybe?) the desktop browser logs me out of my account every day or two

Desktop and mobile are the most recent versions.

One of my permanent tabs, www.nytimes.com, automatically refreshes the page every so often (5-10 minutes) when using the Windows version. However, the page remains static in the MacOS version -- the only way to update the page is to do so manually. I've looked for a setting, thinking maybe I set up something differently on the two browsers, but can't find anything. If it's not me, it would be great if the Mac version auto-refreshed the page just like the Windows version does!

When watching a HDR video on Firefox on Mac (in this case, a Mac Mini M4 running Sequoia) - freshly installed, connected to an AOC QHD HDR monitor via USB-C->Displayport cable, the video appears overexposed with large patches of white making the video unwatchable. This applies to all HDR video on Youtube.

Watching the same video on Safari presents no such issues - HDR video plays as expected.

When viewing Kannada text in Firefox 142.0.1 (64-bit) on macOS [your version], conjunct letters (ottaksharas/ligatures) do not display correctly. Instead of showing combined forms like ಶ್ರೀ (shri), ತ್ವ (tva), ತ್ರ (tra), the characters appear split into individual glyphs.

This issue is browser-specific:

In Safari and Chrome, the same text renders properly with correct Kannada shaping.

In Firefox, the ligatures fail to render, making Kannada text appear broken and unreadable.

Apple Support confirmed that the system rendering is fine and advised reporting this to Firefox.

Example text (should be tested): ಚೊಕ್ಕಾಡಿ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕೋತ್ಸವ

Hi, I'm a developer and I was having some issues with my service worker so I unregistered it from firefox (probably should've double checked what that did, oops) but now I can't get it to reregister again. The service worker will show up when I load the site from private browsing but that's because the origin will show private browsing. Have I just blocked my url from registering a service worker? How can I undo that?

I always use Full Screen mode on MacOS (^⌘F). However, when I press the escape key, it always leaves Full Screen mode. This is annoying when browsing: whenever there is a popup which you should be able to leave with pressing 'Esc', the browser goes out of Full Screen. Why does 'Esc' lead to leaving Full Screen, when there is a dedicated key command to do this (^⌘F)? At least there should be a option to change this behaviour.

FF 142.0.1. We have used FF fir many, many years, and NEVER, that is NEVER, been able to ad an extension to our toolbar. Yes, we have read myriad posts and sundry blogs where most of the advice we see is totally useless because the things we are supposed to do not exist in our FF. We can’t add in the customise palette, the extension manger Pin to Toolba, settings, et ceteras. So, how do we add an FF extension to the toolbar in FF 142.0.1? Thank you
