For years using firefox, I have had all of the bookmarks and login information retained by Firefox on my old HP laptop, but after buying a new Windows 11 Laptop and performing the Firefox syncing, none of the bookmarks/favorites and none of the password (and other items that used to self-populate) are there on my now machine. This has caused an emergency situation since my old laptop is now fatally broken. I'm wondering how to start diagnosing what the problem is, whether the "syncing" actually occurred within my account, while the syncing process indicated no problem. The new machine has it's own Bookmarks toolbar showing, but only contains a few new bookmarks that I have manually added.

I followed the advise and removed all the profiles from my laptop. (Copies are on an external hard drive.) And I used the download file from the Mozilla community site which is 490 KB versus the 375 KB download file from firefox.com just in case the smaller file was corrupted. But I still got the Profile Missing error message.

I am trying to simulate a laptop that has never used Firefox and so can't say that "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded.  It may be missing or inaccessible."  I uninstalled Firefox using the Installed Apps page. Can there be fragments of Firefox that I need to hunt down and remove? I also removed the Old Firefox Data folder from the desktop.

How can I successfully install Firefox? Then I will use my old profiles that contain all my bookmarks.

I recently purchased a new desktop due to the previous desktop malfunctioning a bit. The old hdd is still in operating condition and is now a slave in my new cpu. Where can I find the history/bookmarks on the old drive? Is there a filename that is relevant for the data?

Description of the issue: I am experiencing an issue where I cannot paste images from my system clipboard into the chat box of Doubao (a web-based AI chatbot: doubao.com).

Steps to reproduce:

   Copy an image to the clipboard.
   Open doubao.com in Firefox.
   Click on the chat input box and press Ctrl + V (or right-click and Paste).

Expected result: The image should be pasted into the chat box and ready to be sent.

Actual result: Nothing happens. The image is not pasted.

I am using Windows 11 (Version 23H2, fully updated) and a Logitech C920 USB webcam. Before testing in Firefox, the camera works perfectly in Chrome, including Google Meet, as well as in the Windows Camera app. When Firefox is opened but does not access the camera, everything works normally in the system. When I allow Firefox to access the camera on a website requesting permission, the webcam initially shows a working preview inside Firefox. But, after the preview, the camera stops working in Firefox and shows a message asking me to allow devices again, even though permission has already been granted. After I test the camera in Firefox and then close it, the webcam stops working system-wide. Chrome then reports that the camera is in use or unavailable, and the Windows Camera app also stops working until a reboot. In addition, when this issue occurs, the Windows Settings page Privacy & Security → Camera loads continuously without finishing anything, but the contents are visible and clickable while it keeps loading. I have to reboot the computer to restore normal camera functionality. I wanted to use Firefox as my only browser, but this situation stops me from doing so.

I've used Firefox for years, but lately, on start-up each day, all my previous tabs have disappeared and I have to start again opening them all individually before I can start work? I thought I'd solved this in the past when I had the problem, but it's back! Help please.

I have already turned off the 3 or 4 different types of firefox suggestions in the settings. Did they add yet another one? I can't find anything about it in the settings. How can I be sure I never get a pop-up suggesting any sort of wallpaper again?

Since around April 2026 , the "Show in folder" option (in "Display the progression of ongoing downloads") does not work anymore when a file is downloaded on a NAS drive . I use a Qnap TS-231P NAS .

I HAD TO REINSTALL MY WINDOWS 10. NOW FIREFOX IS TAKING A LONG TIME, IF AT ALL, TO LOAD LINKS FROM MY EMAIL. FIREFOX IS SET AS THE DEFAULT BROWSER. THERE ARE NO ADD-ONS THAT WOULD BLOCK LINKS

I believe when I wanted to update to a newer Firefox version, I chose the one right before the change to tab history where it said something about not saving as many presumably due to websites that can open several pages within a tab in a second or 2.

I don't know if this is the cause, but now whenever I open several YouTube pages it can fail to save one of them to web history. I don't know if it's because some pages open a &pp= page first and then when it switches to a clean video ID URL Firefox doesn't log all of them because of that tab history change?

Either way I'd also like to revert that tab history change if it's not the cause, is there already an about:config setting? Or is this just like the tags-in-history-window change and it will never be re-introduced..

I'd probably need to update Firefox within a few years anyway when some new thing unsupported on older Firefox is introduced, so if I revert to v131 that works better I may be in the same position a few years later. Idk if I can revert with the current profile data anyway.

I set up profiles on my work computer and I have sync set up but when I access firefox on my personal computer I don't have the profiles. Is there a way to sync my profiles as well so I can access them wherever I log into Firefox?

I'll be on a page, maybe Facebook, the NYTimes, Amazon, or really any site, and suddenly I find I can no longer scroll, or otherwise navigate the page. I usually have to refresh the page, not so great an option, if I was in the middle of doing something, and and then it'll work OK. I shouldn't have to be doing that, and wonder why pages will just freeze up like this.

I want to make the switch from Chrome to FF (to continue using UBO), and a problem I keep running into is media not displaying in Twitter(X)'s DMs while using Private Browsing mode. It only comes up as a gray block that says "Failed to Load" with "Retry" under it, but it never loads. It also asks that I re-enter my DM password every time the page reloads.

Everything works fine in a regular browser tab, the issues only occur in Private Browsing.

I have tried disabling UBO, disabling Enhanced Tracking Protection, and clicking the little shield icon in the URL and turning that off, too. Looking this up really didn't give me any results that actually helped, either.

Help would be much appreciated! This really is the last big hang-up I have to not switch.

Firefox VPN has completely disappeared. Last week it was installed in my browser. Now it has completely gone. It no longer shows up on the tool bar. I can't even click on it to reinstall it. I found the same question asked by another user, but the so-called answers below his questions were useless. They told us how to install it. But it is impossible to install it if the invitation icon is gone.
