I just downloaded the latest Firefox browser, and it asked me to import all of the my bookmarks, but it only grabbed the ones from Chrome. All of my former bookmarks that were saved in the previous Firefox browser are gone! Most of my useful bookmarks were in Firefox. Where are they, and how do I get them back?

I turned off my Mac Mini 2 last night, February 7, and when I turned it on this morning, all my Firefox bookmarks were gone.

Everything else is fine (Chrome bookmarks, which are different from those in Firefox, remain intact). And yes, I should have known better, but since when a Firefox update deletes all bookmarks?

I'm guessing that is the reason, because everything else is intact.

Any suggestions as to whether there is ANY way to recover them?

The right click on a Folder on the Bookmarks Toolbar and choosing Sort by name stopped working. Please, fix it.

Both selected folder is supposed to be ordered by name:

In Firefox, one can drag'n'drop a tab to the bookmarks toolbar to create a bookmark. During the drag, If one hovers the pointer over a folder in the bookmarks toolbar, the folder is supposed to open so you can put the newly created bookmark inside the folder.

This behavior has been failing a lot for me lately: the folder doesn't open, so dropping the tab doesn't create a bookmark. - The behavior is erratic: right now it works for some tabs and fails for others; - Drag'n'drop to the bookmarks toolbar outside a folder still works; - Drag'n'drop to the bookmarks sidebar, inside a folder or not, still works.

NB: I'm pretty sure it's a bug, but I never created a Mozilla Bugzilla issue before so I decided to see what happens here first.

Browser: 122.0 (64-bit) OS: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS

When I save new bookmarks I can't find them to open them. The list of folders I see in the "Choose . . ." selection is different from the list of folders l see when trying to open a bookmark. The bookmarks seem to be saving in one list but opening from a different list. How do I replace the list Firefox opens bookmarks from with the list the new bookmarks are saved in?

i imported Firefox bookmarks to Firefox on another user account and i am not getting thumbnails! Both on bookmark's bar and inside bookmark browser :/

I feel this can only be corrected by an adjustment to the version, am on 122.0.1 as the latest update. My O/S Linux Mint Mate v20.0.3. Have NOT been to any schooling or even just a class for any training, all done as my curiosity has driven me to learn on my own, Self-taught and have been working with CPU`s for over 35 years, I am 84...

Getting to this point has been a rather long drawn-out process that has been a bit confusing hope this info is acceptable.

...when you do some of the solutions to this problem the copy-and-paste from either the vertical column or in Bookmarks manager it will copy the whole URL code as the title of the link and not what you renamed that link or its default name from its creator.

Is there a way to copy-and-paste the bookmarks WITH the already-created link names attached from the previous Firefox / Waterfox browser?

New computer, new Firefox install. Old computer has the Library Icon in the upper right corner when the browser opens. I imported my bookmarks, but can't figure out how to get the Library Icon positioned.

I wish to save my bookmarks in alphabetical order, first the folders and then any bookmarks that have not yet been allocated to a specific folder. This used to be possible as I gave reorganised the older bookmark folders are in alphabeical order previously. This seems to be no longer posible. I can reorganise them in View but cannot save them. 1. impossible to open bookmarks. nothing happens

2. all the shortcuts on my home page have disappeared while they are still chosen in preferences and it is not possible to add new ones. Again nothing happens when trying.

I am mainly concern about the possible loss of the links of the bookmarks. I already experienced a total loss of the history and I fear to go through something like that again.

Please solve this problem or help me if I can do it myself. I did a restart and a refresh but no change. Thank you

Before, when I started to write an address, firefox did not remember and I have to write it. That was fine. Now, it remembers everything and everything is kept in the history despite I close the private and open it again. Any other person can open the private again and see the last thing you were doing. No real private browsing, no fun

Got a new MAC Trying to delete old bookmarks but no go. The old bookmarks used to be in "Other bookmarks" but now they only show up in "All bookmarks" and the Star will not let me activate the Delete Bookmark button

I could not Copy and Paste a Bookmark until after closing and restarting Firefox 122.0.1. I have had a similar problem before and wanted to report this.

I included a screen shot after closing and restarting Firefox and I was able to perform the copy and paste the Bookmark. I was trying to copy the Bookmark titled FDA approves Xolair to treat . . . to the Allergies folder but could not, again until after closing and restarting Firefox.

Hi. I'm trying to transfer Firefox bookmarks from a hard drive pulled from a now dead iMac (was IOS 10.13.4 + Firefox 116.6.0) to a MacBookPro laptop running BigSur (11.6.8) and Firefox 122.0.1. I have the iMac HDD plugged into a hot swap docking station. A search for places.sqlite on the old HD turns up nothing.

I have found answers for drilling down into Windows to find the appropriate files to transfer, but not for Mac. I didn't know Firefox Sync existed until now, and I don't know where to look for a profile on the hard drive. Suggestions?

Ok, this is going to be a bigger problem that I thought. The laptop is my wife's old university-owned mac, and there's a whole "admin" layer of hidden and mixed-up folders. I need to go see the admins for help.
