When I go to discord, I am not able to join in an audio call. When I go to un-mute my profile, I get an error that say >You want to be able to talk to your friends, right? switch to the latest Chrome, Opera, Firefox, Edge or download the latest discord app to start talking right now!

I am using firefox 78.6.1esr (64-bit) on Debian 10.7

I have had a back and forth with Discord and they informed me that its a Firefox only issue and to ask here instead.

Wikipedia, though I think one or 2 other sites, stopped displaying math properly. From what I can gather there is something wrong when displaying maths. Images, text, links and headings display correctly, but maths is nearly displayed with the same colour as the background. Other pages work, images load as expected and testing on another browser ("vimb") displays the maths properly.

I have tried to look for solutions and tried reading mode, deleting all cookies abt. wikipedia, uninstall/deactivate fonts and extensions..

I get green videos when using hardware acceleration. intel_gpu_top shows decoding action when I start firefox with: MOZ_WAYLAND_DRM_DEVICE=/dev/dri/renderD129 LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME=i965 MOZ_X11_EGL=1 MOZ_WEBRENDER=1 firefox

There's only 3 lines of error in the console, so I don't think it's related:

Can anyone help me identify the issue? I would really like to use the hw acceleration.

I have resist fingerprint settings turned on because I use keyboard shortcuts to open specific webpages / notes and I need the pages to be the same size when I launch the new instance of the browser.

but now the browser thinks I am in UTC. I need the browser to report I am in a different time zone, because nextcloud keeps assuming that my browser is telling the truth.

I cant / wont install third party add ons.

Hello,

I am trying to create a custom userChrome.css for Firefox 85 to fix the poor contrast of text on inactive tabs on KDE Plasma with the Breeze colour scheme.

I want the text of an inactive tab on the active window to be the colour white.

I want the text of an inactive tab on an inactive window to be the colour black.

I tried the following in userChrome.css:

.tabbrowser-tab:not([selected="true"]) .tab-text {

 color:white !important;

}

.tabbrowser-tab:not([selected="true"]) .tab-text2 {

 color:black !important;

}

The first block of CSS works and I get white correctly on an inactive tab on an active window. The second block of CSS does not work and I do not get black text on an inactive tab on an inactive window.

I used "tab-text2" because it was described here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1017404

Has "tab-text2" been deprecated and replaced with something else in newer versions of Firefox? How do I specify the tab text colours for an inactive window?

Thanks.

3 February 2021

I use a toolbar. Sorry, I'm old fashioned. When I install a new linux system, the first thing I do is change firefox to show the toolbar. There is a 'Bookmarks' item on the toolbar. When you click it, it gives you a menu of several options, including 'Bookmark This Page Ctrl+D'.

Until recently, clicking on that option opened a popup that allowed you to select a sub-folder to put the bookmark in. That was extremely useful because a flat list gets very long very quickly. You could of course just click on save bookmark in the popup and it gets added to the flat list, or, as I do, you could first select a sub-folder.

Now, clicking 'Bookmark This Page Ctrl+D' results in the bookmark immediately being saved to the flat list and a little alert momentarily pops up declaring 'saved to library'. Apparently 'library' is the same as 'other bookmarks'. How very clear (sarcasm). In addition to not knowing where the bookmark actually is, I now have to manually move it to the desired sub-folder with several other clicks. How convenient (sarcasm).

I want the old behavior back. How do I get it?

By the way, I am very old fashioned. I don't register with websites, even firefox. I used an email blackhole to sign up. I will come back here periodically (once a day) to see if there are any useful answers or questions asking for clarification. I've bookmarked this page, so it should be easy. When I'm done, I'll disappear forever, thank you very much.

https://support.mozilla.org/bm/questions/1286932#answer-1312559 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1316562

The problem is, my startpage still doesn't change to darkmode. All my about:* like settings, plugin and 'blank page' however does change with the system theme. Web pages like google also reacts fine to the change.

I can customize it, but I'd prefer for this to work on 'clean installs' as well :)

This problem has been bugging for a few months. I'm using Chromium now but would like to switch back to Firefox if a solution could be found. I'm not holding my breath as I've tried almost all suggestions. The thing is, Firefox just does not tell me why it cancels my download. It surely knows why it does it, so why not just split it out to help people fix it. My question then is, how do I tell Firefox to tell me why it fails?

Magically? As in Evil, Stupid Magic. Turn off computer. Turn back on 2 hours later: New Tabs page has Completely Reset. All Saved Tabs are gone? Really. Who thought this was a good idea? Let's fuck with the users and screw their saved bookmarks. Nice. Twice, over the past 2 months. And, my other extensions should In No Fucking Way be the Issue. C'mon developers, quit trying to make Firefox 'prettier'..! Just make it work consistently.

I am developing some html and javascript applications. During testing I use the windows.alert box to show some innerHTML values. This worked fine, until after a while, the Alert box window size changes to a small window, showing only the horizontal slider.

I have restarted the browser, but that didn't change anything.

What can I do to have the full Alert window back?

Thanks for your help, Jan

Once again my account is locked on one of my computers. It says the email was returned but there was no email sent to the address. Oddly, the account is locked on one machine, the one that has been logged on the longest, but my other three machines have no trouble connecting and syncing. This seems to have happened after firefox updated itself (even though I had it set not to. It also removed all the settings I had spent a considerable amount of time customizing)

I have cleared all of my history multiple times, and still, when I search something on my Address bar, earlier sites show up. This is especially annoying, as I had cleared my whole history a while ago, so it doesn't take up as much space. Earlier, when I wanted to go on Google (My default search engine is Duck Duck Go, but sometimes i need Google because Duck Duck Go doesn't show what I want), I'd just have to type "g" and press enter. Now when I press "g", it shows "gamingjs.com". How can I get rid of this Website?

Also, even if I type "google", the first suggestion is still "google - Search with DuckDuckGo".

I can't provide a screenshot, as the address bar collapses automatically when I make a screenshot.
