I don't like the new release, so "downgraded" back to the previous version (88.0.1). The process forced me to create a new profile, and now I have lost all my bookmarks and history. How can I restore them?

I tried myself at about:profiles and chose "Launch profile in new browser" for what I suspect is my old profile. This again forces me to create a new profile, so that I cannot access the old.

I need my bookmarks back! Help very welcome, thanks!

On the subject of changes to the Bookmark function - how can I eliminate the "thumbnail" which is now appearing in Firefox 89 at the top when you click on the 'bookmark current tab' option. I don't need a thumbnail to know what I'm bookmarking - or what the bookmark is - and it takes up a lot of space, which in turn means that I have to scroll down in order to click the 'save' button.

imho it would be a lot more useful to show the past 10 or 12 bookmark folders that were used (as opposed to the 6 we're now seeing) than to see the thumbnail ...

Would appreciate an answer to this ....

I have used Mozilla for years. And years. And I completely agree with the sentiment "Mozilla please stay focused on privacy, speed and functionality". The ui doesn't need to be trendy ....

Aw, dang it. I just installed the new Firefox that was announced today in an email. This is supposed to be "cleaner." Now the tab area and top of the browser window appear to be transparent. I can see what's on my desktop behind the tabs, and everything looks much more cluttered! This is not an improvement AT ALL.

Is there any way to remove the transparency from this area? I'm SO disappointed! I thought this was going to be much easier on my eyes.

I am on Windows 7.

As I stated in the subject line, "Cannot Stop Updated (Current) Version of Firefox From Diverting Search Engine Search to URL Pane" I have been doting over this for an hour. I have set the respective about:config settings to the recommended setting. (I forget off the top of my head what the string was at the moment) But I did as directed. Refreshed the about:config. Logged off the Firefox browser. Cleared all the caches manually. (i.e., even though I have Firefox to clear everything when I close the browser) Restarted the browser. Problem persists. I DON'T like searching out of the URL pane! I like it like it has ALWAYS been prior: Using the search engine (I currently am using Google) search pane.

I have added NO browser extensions to cause this either by the way.

I don't want the search field jumping up to the URL bar when I begin typing in the middle of the screen search field !

I want the URL bar to do just the URL...

Not impressed at all with semi-transparent tabs and tweaked interface colors.

I'm having a very strange problem that's only occurring with Firefox and not any other browser. Since this new update went through, whenever I go to Google's web page, I will type a search on the text box on Google's web page. The text doesn't appear in that text box. But instead, is somehow being captured by Firefox's address bar. Not only that, ever since the update, whenever I type a response in a text box on my Facebook page, Youtube, or anywhere with a text box to reply or make comments, whatever I typed doesn't even show up. I see it when I type it in the proper text box. But after I click "Submit" or "Enter" on the sites, no text is submitted and my comment disappears. This happens on all the sites with text boxes, and it ONLY happens with Firefox, and has only been happening since the update. It's getting frustrating typing long answers to questions that require long explanations of things, only to have them not get submitted to the site. It's like Firefox is blocking me from commenting or making comments. I'm not having the same problem with my phone browser. It's only a problem on my PC one.

You SLAMMED me with a WHOLLY-unwanted format / appearance change and v.89 - FORCING a switch back to v.88 but, ALSO forced BY you to 'create new profile' - SICK of such STUPIDITY and ABUSIVE, thought-DEVOID practices; much, MUCH harder to distinguish with my eyesight with NO apparent means of ALTERING it and, I am PISSED - an ENORMOUS amount of work to TRY and remember WHICH links were open (over 100 tabs) to say NOTHING of having to RE-SIGN back IN to certain webpages when required - if I'm even ABLE.....

Please respond ASAP.

Just updated to 89.0 Tabs are double height. No way I want my desktop real estate wasted like that. Can I change the down to one line or revert to previous version of firefox? I am never happy with wasted space.

You made a change and now I can not pull up my e mail why?

New version of firefox Lots of disturbing with windows 7 ,, I am astonished 'often hang.

I am using firefox from start. still now i do not faces any kind of problem. Latest version is very poor.

This is a thank you follow-up to my yesterdays' post starting with; "firefox version 89 is insanely slow with no explanation had to try reset...." I can't find my msg from yesterday started with this, but wanted to thank you all for fixing Everything - Overnight! I am So glad I waited to, "system restore," until today bec it(MSs' OS) gave warning it might not restore All of the elements correctly. Thank you for your hard work and just appreciating how essential the browsers' Working is to our lives. It is. Thank you, thank you, thank you!  :) (I'm now thinking I should maybe put my updates on "notify me first /let me download when ready"...but I'm not really sure if that would accomplish anything because I'd still have to download them to see if there were problem/s that effected My devise in particular. Community posts don't tell you that - or what to do. Pop-up status msgs would be appreciated.. if you'd have time...even if not all knowing...just to know some are aware of X issue...working on it...estimated back up time... whether we could/should do a "system restore" & wait until further notice to DL again. But I guess our issues are what you need to see to fix them...But I digress. Thank you again for working hard to store functionality. I needed something right to happen in my life - someone to be an expert at what they do. Thanks for your humanity.
