Hello Mozilla community!

yesterday I installed a program which installed adware (I overlooked a little checkbox). It also changed a couple of settings in my standard browser (Firefox) like the search engine etc. It also changed the homepage. I always had the homepage pointing to my YouTube feed. I changed it back to it using the about:preferences#home method. Under "Homepage and new windows" I set the homepage to my custom URL and the home button works perfectly fine. Yet when I open a new window (with ctrl+n, not a new tab!) it also displays my home page (YouTube). It has never done that before and I cannot find anything in the settings to change that. I tried looking in about:config with browser.newtab but didn't find anything that seemed related to my problem. A couple of weeks ago I tried Firefox Nightly and I started it up and the homepage worked fine AND it didn't display it in a new window. It only did this after it synchronized the data with my Firefox account. Now my question is: How can I remove the the Homepage from a new window (and replace it with an empty page or the Firefox Home)? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

My online banking access used to work perfectly but does not worked any more. In the login process, it simply does not go any further without any error message. The laptop is the same as before. The only thing that has changed are updates to Firefox version 87.0 and Ubuntu version 18.04.5 LTS. On another laptop, the bank access still worked perfectly. I have tried to switch off all restrictions in the Firefox settings and to deactivate all add-ons, unfortunately without success. The bank couldn't solve the problem either, they just said it was probably due to the browser settings. Do you have any ideas? Thank you! Wolfgang

While browsing https://www.mathrubhumi.com/ site, a warning will come "A webpage is slowing down your browser, what would do like to do, stop it or wait" Then system monitor shows a web content is consuming around 4.5 GB and firefox itself stopped the webpage. If the memory usage is higher the system will hang.

As the subject stated, I'm desiring to achieve the result that I can run some webpage with the window containing only the page itself (without toolbar, address bar, etc.). The --kiosk command line option is almost what I need but it will enter the fullscreen mode whatsoever. For instance, chromium has the --app option which is exactly what I want it to be. Hi! I am trying to move FF profile with saved data such as extensions (anti-captha). Tried just copy a profile folder but not successful. It is not contains folder "extensions". Please help!

I have a Monitor + Laptop Setup and whenever I open Bookmarks from Bookmark Toolbar it's opens on the second display (Laptop) and not in the primary display (Monitor).

On Ubuntu, FFDE can be configured to

1. Auto-update - but it just displays a message saying that it cannot update

2. Download updates and request permission to install them - all it does is display a message saying a new update is available

I think this all stems from the fact that FFDE at present has to be manually installed on Ubuntu. Why this is so, I cannot fathom - maybe someone here has an answer to why open sourced op system users are inconvenienced by Firefox.

It's feasible to script an update procedure to Ubuntu for FFDE. But this will not stop the annoying (every 2 hours) pop-ups about new updates being available - even when there is no new update there . . .

Maybe FFDE could simply stop automatic update reminders altogether. Users can decide (or script) for themselves if they want to update.

https://acorn.tv does not download AV content. Get error messages. One such message shown in attachment. Trailers & previews stream well , however. Android & Windows OS devices continue download & stream Acorn content on Firefox as before, no problems. Thank you.

when i try to watch a live stream on youtube/twitch, i get the errors YouTube - your browser cannot play this video twitch - This video is either unavailable or not supported in this browser. (Error #4000)

im using ubuntu, and that old google test failed. any help on fixing?

I have DarkReader installed and enabled on all pages and it works on every website I visit, yet it does nothing for support.mozilla.org.

When I type in ANY URL, I want exactly that to be loaded. And not anything else.

When I type in mozilla.rog into the address bar, I want firefox to fetch the page mozilla.rog. I want firefox to try, and if it does not exist, I demand to be notified that it does not exist. With an error message. URL not found. Error 404.

But instead, Firefox silently changes mozilla.rog to mozilla.org (and probably any page e.g. from .rog to .org, and from .ocm to .com , and the like) without my permission, and loads this other page I did not type in.

I do NOT and NEVER allow ANY program to alter my commands without notifying me.

so... which about:config setting disables this autocorrection-behavior?

Whenever I want to visit some websites the sites get opened but not properly the content of sites are loaded with some random digits. I am using Firefox On Kali Machine, Other Browser like Google Chrome works properly I have attached image for better understanding so please look up.

See attached picture. Am I right to assume the (Q) next "Inspect Element" is a shortcut key? If yes, how does this work? pressing the Q-key on my keyboard does nothing. Please clarify.

According to https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/8k3sq4/firefox_updated_to_6001_and_the_search_box_is_no/ there's something wrong with userchrome.css in the profile but that file should be patched if that's the case.

Why this hasn't been patched since it's introduction in version 60 is beyond me.
