I have bookmarks and saved passwords from an old computer (x86) that I want to import to a new computer (M1).

I have the drive with all my old files on it, and can mount it on my new computer. It is not possible to boot the old computer to export my files. How can I migrate them using purely file operations to the new Firefox?

Receiving the following error message:

Error: Platform version '129.0' is not compatible with minVersion >= 128.0.3 maxVersion <= 128.0.3

How do I resolve this?

I am trying to use the tree style tree expansion for Firefox. When I install the tab bar appears at left side as it should, BUT the tab bar appears at the top too. I understand it has to do with the userChrome.css: Questions: 1. The css file is supposed to be created in this folder: C:\Users\jssch\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ 6p6hqx7v.App1d96b2329ff34563bd901f480a66632f\storage\permanent\chrome I that the correct location customized for my pc. 2. Could you supply the correct code for the css file. I am assuming I can use Notepad++ to create the file.

I'm trying to help my wife install firefox on her desktop computer, which is right next to mine. Her MAC has an operating system Big Sur version 11.5.1. with 8 g of memory.When I did it sometime ago, it was easy. Now I'm confused as to how to proceed.

i'm using peppermint 1.0 with Firefox browser 113.0.2. my bank says i need to upgrade to FFox 115 Linux. I can't access accts til i upgrade. i can't find 115 nor does the system auto upgrade like it says using the "about firefox" ... this is as far as i can get. suggestions, anyone? here's a screencap. Gosh, the thought of returning to Windows makes me very uncomfortable. I see lots of folk are having this sort of problem.

The Firefox Linux Systems inappropriately stops to play online videos, the social media videos or display pictures. The system is not manageable by administrators at the public library and is only helped sometimes by government officials. Is there anyway the Library system could be helped to play videos.

Hello! After installing update 129.0.1, in the profile folder, along the path: AppData/roaming/mozilla/firefox/profiles, a folder "extensions store menus" appeared, it contains the file data.life.bin, which changes its modification date as if it was synchronized when the browser closes. I would like to know if anyone else has this folder and file? . I checked the file for viruses, it is clean. Thanks in advance for your answers).

When I try to open Firefox to download , it keeps sending me to page having a problem downloading when I try to Open in App Store. Going around in circles, help. Thanks

I ONLY want to use Firefox 55.0. My computer doesn't like your modern Microsoft type of Browser, Please supply ONLY FIREFOX 55.0.

We ask this today, August 20, 2024, in the hope of finding a current solution to a question that has been asked for years:

How to prevent Firefox from updating?

When we search for this answer online, we find many answers -- all of which seem outdated. The many solutions from many years ago (which appear at the top of search listings) no longer work or are no longer available.

We like Firefox. otherwise we would not even bother asking. But we do not like that it appears users are losing the ability to customise their Firefox experience. We do not like that updates will sometimes break the way that we use Firefox. And we especially do not like that Firefox has become increasingly difficult to constrain.

If we wanted software that does not respect us we have many other other options.

What we want is: the option to tell Firefox that we will continue using this specific version of Firefox for as long as we wish, even if that leads to many terrible things. Yes, we want to know what those terrible things might be and to understand the implications of skipping this new update, but we want to make that informed decision; we do not want updates shoved down our throats.

For those running Ubuntu (Jammy) in August of 2024 how does one successfully prevent Firefox (recent) from updating? We would prefer a menu option but will accept a third-party solution if necessary. We want, among other things, to put a stop to the ominous "in X days we will install the update regardless of your obvious intentions to avoid an update" messages.

(We had these same issues back when we used Windows. The ability to prevent Firefox from updating seems to have been lost many years ago.)

Helpful responses are welcomed and appreciated.

I recently updated to 129.01 (64bit). Now Firefox keeps crashing, especially when I am trying to fill out an online form. Does anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions on how to resolve?

My organization has been using Firefox ESR for many years. I am trying to upgrade from ESR 115.12 to ESR 128.1 The upgrade is hanging at the very end of the install. Procmon shows firefox.exe being launched in the background and hanging. When I manually run firefox.exe, it says "Unable to read configuration file". If I edit "autoconfig.js", and comment out the "general.config.filename", then everything works.

We still use the general.config.filename and have not fully transitioned to the newer policies.json configuration (we have settings in both).

Was a change made in ESR 128 that broke (or stopped supporting) the older format ?

LINUX. see subject, please. i started on this laptop w/ mint. 5 or 6 years ago. then downloaded peppermint 1 and has been working great, but the browser does not update automatically like is said. Then, my Linux guy up and passed away. I know no one in town that uses it. I'M ON LINUX. any help appreciated. have gotten some replies with folk trying to help, but it just wants to download/install whole program. my bank wants me to upgrade to at least 115. can't access accts. Chase are useless. They don't know what Linux is. Perhaps someone here can point me in right direction? Regards. God bless.
