Running Windows 7 Pro with Firefox 92.0(64-bit). Once 2 days ago and just within the last 30 minutes I opened Firefox. Instead of opening to my homepage, I got a new Firefox page (white background) asking me something which I really didn't care about. Instead of wasting my time I clicked the Home icon and went to my Homepage (Yahoo by the way). The first time it happened (2 days ago) it separated all of my favorites with one line in between each, turned everything in the favorites white (no color). A pain in the ass to work with, so I finally did a rollback of the OS to August 30th, and then everything was OK. The Firefox experience just repeated itself 30 minutes ago and boy am I pissed. The same thing happened to my Favorites sections. What is going on and how can I fix it without doing an OS rollback ?

                                                                                                       Thanks, Sam G

Windows 7 Pro using Firefox 92.0. going from Mozilla homepage to my homepage in firefox I click on the Home icon upper left corner. This is causing my favorites to be separated by one line each and colors are now gone. It appears that the Mozilla homepage is causing something. It has happened 5 days ago and I rolled the OS back. It now happened last night.bold text. I really don't want to roll the OS back again. I guess I could roll it back and then tell myself "don't ever go to Mozzila again". Any suggestions ?

Bookmark Tag data wipes out when I click "save" (I can see it wipe out.) with no explanation via error message as to why or what parameters that field was given. It doesn't happen all the time. I can create short Tags but not long Tags in succession. That's what makes me feel there has been limitations put upon tags recently.

OS is Win7-x64, graphics Intel HD Graphics on Haswell pentium G3220 with latest available driver.

Since version 89.0 or 90.0 (not sure which) following webpage rendering issues appeared on my machine: - page loads ok, but when I scroll up/down with pageup/pagedown keys then some keystrokes are not followed by redraw, or redraw is partially blank (horizontally split - see attached screenshot). Subsequent keystrokes either have the same problem or are rendered correctly. - scrolling is only problematic with pageup/pagedown keys. Alternative methods (up/down keys, mousewheel, holding and dragging scrollbar or clicking above or beneath it) work ok. - I'm sure that version 89.0 or 88.0 didn't have this problem. Since then I haven't changed any about:config settings or updated graphics driver. Compositing was then and now set at WebRender (not WebRender (Software)). - I tried disabling hardware acceleration on version 92.0, but it hasn't solved issue, so I reverted this back.

Troubleshooting info is attached.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Earlier version of firefox worked fine on Youtube.... but now when using firefox on Youtube the video will not load. The pic and start chevron are there, but nothing happens. When I run Trouble-Shoot mode it works fine. Do not have this issue with MS Edge Browser.

Troubleshoot info very long.... could copy and paste.... first lets see the reason why an update Monzilla stopped working in Youtube. FYI, I turned off tracking-blocking, and set to only block 3rd party cookies.... problem still remains.

For anyone who wishes to reduce horizontal spacing between bookmark icons in the horizontal Bookmarks Toolbar across the top of Firefox window (under the address bar), here is the code to add to userChrome.css:

/* Bookmarks Toolbar icon horizontal spacing */

toolbarbutton.bookmark-item:not(.subviewbutton) {

   padding: var(--bookmark-block-padding) 3px !important;

}

The default value is 4px. I changed it to 3px. You can change this number as you like.

Remember to save the css file, close and then re-open the browser to view the update.

There is also a way to play with this live if you access the Browser Toolbox: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Browser_Toolbox and access userChrome.css: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Style_Editor

Hope this saves someone the hours I spent finding this solution. Cheers!

Hi!

Every online video I watch with Mozilla Firefox (92.0, 32-bit) has serious vsync/tearing problems. I tried Chrome - it doesn't have such problems. Local video players (VLC, MPC etc) also do not have such problems.

Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 32-bit Intel Pentium 4 2.66 GHz D1 (no SSE3) GPU: Integrated Intel Extreme Graphics 2, Springdale-G (865G) (82865G) DirectX: SW: 11, HW: 7.0 OpenGL: SW: GLDirect, HW: 1.3 System HDD speed: 76 MB/s read, 77 MB/s write

I tried changing various related (or not) values in about:config to no luck.

Thank you in advance for any help provided! (Not for the phrases "change your specs" :))

Hello everyone, since a few months ago (I think it started happening on June) I am having this problem where the bookmark bar, the tabs, the search bar, well actually everything in the header of the Firefox window will suddenly freeze and become almost unresponsive, and I say almost since I can still interact with the content, it will just not update visually when I do so. For example, if that glitch occurs, whenever I close a tab the other tabs won't cling onto one another like they should usually do, there's a wide space from the tab I closed that never gets filled. Additionally, right clicking stops functioning completely when Firefox is in this state. This strange glitch was only encountered recently, been using Firefox for almost a decade now and I have never seen this before.

The first time it occured was admittedly my fault and I thought it would only happen that day. I had over-stressed the browser by downloading an enormous amount of data at once, or more so I was about to. I have an extension called DownThemAll, and I like to download a ton of images off the internet, so as I was using DownThemAll that way, the browser started to slow down, then I interacted with something else on the browser and this is when this occured to me for the first time.

However, although I did not repeat the same mistake twice, this issue happened to me a total of 8 times.

The second time, I was on a private browsing window (Which had all the extensions disabled, except for uBlock origin, uBO-Scope, Decentraleyes, Emoji cheatsheet, Newsguard and an extension called Ecosia that acts as a button to get onto the main page of a search engine), and all I did for it to occur again was to check the download page as I was downloading a file from Mediafire. The third time, the same thing occured on a private window after I downloaded something from another website (Can't remember which one). The fourth time, it was caused because I opened a webpage on a private new tab (Can't remember which site). The fifth time, I added a page into my bookmarks by using the star icon. The sixth time occured by clicking on the search bar on my browser. The seventh time, it occured again by accessing a website on a private window, it was a neocity website called "loveweb" that was made by an animator on YouTube called Shadok. The eighth and final time it happened was yesterday and it wasn't on a private window this time, it was on my normal Firefox window, it happened because I wanted to check the history of all the pages I've viewed.

6 times out of 8, the problem happens although I'm on a private tab and the "patient zero" DownThemAll is disabled, and I had all the other extensions installed prior to the issue happening, so that cannot be them that cause the issue in the first place. Additionally, I have a few more extension on my "public" Firefox (Facebook container, OceanHero search, Simple Mass downloader (As temporary replacement), etc), but they couldn't possibly be the culprits as they are also disabled on the private window, and most of them have been installed a long time ago. I theorize that one of two things might be the cause of my problem.

  1. DownThemAll broke something in my browser the day I had used it improperly since the issue only started happening after that fateful day.
  2. Firefox updated and that broke something in the browser, so now I have this issue.

Note that uninstalling DownThemAll didn't fix the problem, which was obtuse on my part as the problem occurs even when it is disabled, so I reinstalled it.

Also note that the glitch is so sporadic and, should I say, rare that I cannot reliably troubleshoot it to fix the problem myself. If I could I would disable each extension one by one, alter the about:config options and modify my settings on the settings menu to see what could potentially cause the problem.

Firefox 92 - W7

Hello,

1° - How to prevent the dark mode ? If I take some themes, they will put about:preferences , about:addons , etc. in dark !

But, what is this fashion, this depressive fad ?!

2° - The bookmarks are no longer displayed instantly, there is an animation where they appear gradually, one by one. Do you know if it is possible to block this ?

I thank you for your attention.

Hi I use Firefox because I don't want Google to have access to my browsing I recently set my firewall for Firefox to Browser mode and I noticed that I got a lot of UDP from Firefox to Google servers. I.e. if I leave Firefox open then it can run to a few thousand over a 3 or 4 hour period even though I would not be using Firefox at all during that period I then removed Google as a serch engine and now use DuckDuckGo but still the UDP continues I have attached a screen shot of the blocked UDP so you can see the IP address the UDP is trying to reach Your claim of "No shady privacy policies or back doors for advertisers. Just a lightning fast browser that doesn’t sell you out" seems to be in contrast to the UDP Can you please let me know why Google is accessed from Firefox as what would seem to be a "back door for advertisers" Thanks
