I can no longer stream video from websites in firefox (v40.0.3), though they work with IE. Problem started abruptly last week. I am not aware of any changes, updates, or new software on my computer that may explain this issue. When I launch the video nothing happens and the cursor sort of flickers. How can I solve this? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi I have a problem with my new bought hp pavillion 10-k000ng with windows 8 1. The camera is working just fine outside firefox, but using it for firefox hello is not working. No error message is shown, it only goes to a black image. I also do not get the media symbol beside the url field. I also tried other webpages for testing the webcam and on non it is working. Therefor, I think it must be a problem of firefox and not hello. Thank you very much for your help! cheers Evchen

I use to watch ESPN videos streamed in FF. I have FF latest version (41.0.2) and the non-working websites are espnplay.com and foxplay.com. It is not a problem with my cable provider since I am able to stream videos in Chrome. In fact this issue started a few weeks ago; until then I could watch videos in FF as well. I do not have a problem streaming videos in youtube.com or any other website for that matter. It looks like the video keeps loading but never buffers. OS is Windows 7 64bit. Thanks for your assistance beforehand,

Fernando

I installed Windows 10 on Saturday (upgrade from W8.1). Since then, I've had this problem. I reset Firefox as my default browser because the upgrade switched it to ie. Whenever I attempt to watch video with Firefox I lose internet connection after a few minutes (the duration keeps getting shorter). I can surf the internet all I want with Firefox. It only occurs when I'm watching streaming video. It occurs on multiple websites. Once my internet crashes I can not access the internet on any browser but for some reason I can through Steam (gaming app). It is not my modem or isp. The modem is working fine. I've tried resetting the modem while the computer is on and nothing changes. If I restart my computer the internet comes back until I try to watch video through Firefox again. I can watch streaming video from the same websites with the MS Edge browser without any problems. I can also watch all the local video I want as well. So I've narrowed it down to a conflict between W10 and Firefox only. I have upgraded my video card drivers, as well as adobe flash player. I also did a DNS dump and ran CCleaner (Windows, applications, and registry cleaner). I did receive a runtime error while upgrading my video card drivers I'm including a screenshot. I have restarted the computer and checked the drivers for updates again and it says I'm up to date (Nvidia Geforce Version 358.50). Nothing improved after doing so. This is my system with no hardware changes: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NJVRTHE?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00

Unlike other posters who describe crashes while trying to stream Netflix due to Silverlight issues, the movies will in fact stream, but so slowly they are unwatchable. The audio keeps going but the video freezes and then skips. This has only begun to happen with the last 1 or 2 Firefox updates, and the last update is what has made Netflix unusable. I've spoken to Netflix tech support and their suggestion was to install Google Chrome and use it to stream Netflix. I will do this if I must, but would prefer Firefox if you folks can come up with a fix for this.

Hi,

I've streamed videos from Amazon successfully on my desktop computer (Windows XP in use) until the latest version 47.0 of FireFox was installed. Now my videos will not play. I did all the things Amazon suggested: uninstalled and re-installed Silverlight, disabled it, etc. but still no luck. I do not want to have to use Chrome to watch my Amazon videos. Chrome works, but I'd like to stick with FireFox.

Please advise on what I can do to get my video streaming back on Amazon.

Thank you.

Hello,

sorry for the weird title, it's hard to explain for me. My problem occurs not only for my usual Firefox, it occurs even after a complete Firefox refresh, without any Addons or changings in the options. It's just the Firefox, IE and Opera don't have that problem. I have Win7.

I can play most movieclips (Streams) as intended. That means I can for example click the progress bar to an unbuffered point, the player skips to that location and I can watch from there.

That does not work with every clip. Some clips (it's always the same pages but I cannot give you an example here) don't work that way. I can skip to a later part, yes. But only if the player has already buffered to that point. If it's in the unbuffered part, I cannot jump there.

Any advice?

I'm trying to stream ESPN, FS1, & NBCSN via XFINITY. When it starts to load they respond with a polite message that an updated version of the Flash Player is needed and supplies the Adobe link. Going to the Adobe site and initiating the update sequence Adobe replies with the message "Package 'adobe-flashplugin' is already installed". I'm using Ububtu 16.04 64 bit. Watching video on YouTube is no problem for example. There is no problem on a tablet using Win8 & Firefox to do the same thing.

Somehow websites have figured out how to play audio even when the Flash object is blocked. This did not used to be the case and I only recently noticed they can sneak the audio through.

I have looked around other help sites but found no solution. I have a link of an example, below. Note: this link has audio that is particularly annoying and vacuous.

I have task scheduler set up to open a stream on the web using Firefox, and then I have task scheduler open another program I use to record the audio. However, I was having some issues with streams stopping before I wanted them to, so I started occasionally resetting Firefox, and that helped. However, I still have issues if I open more than 1 stream in a day. Is there a way to make Firefox automatically reset itself?

What has happened with Mozilla? A month ago, there were no problems when watching stream video 1080p 60fps. But now it is impossible to do it: constant and long freezes. I have noticed that CPU load is almost 100% when watching stream. I have recorded the system parameters for 10 minutes for the same stream via Mozilla and Edge and the difference is great (see the attached files). I do not know what parameters were a month ago for Mozilla but definitely I never noticed any problems. Hope this info will be helpful to fix the problem.

My PC runs on OS Windows 10.

Process: AMD Athlon II X4 650 Processor 3.20 GHz

8.0 GB RAM

64 Bit OS

I am able to watch videos, except for LIVE streaming, at Youtube....No matter what browser I use; the live stream are having same issue as below: no picture but the sound is there.

On other sites, I can see the video and hear it only if I use Internet Explorer. If I use Firefox I only get the sound. Here is an example of a site with this problem:

http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/video/jimmy-kimmel-haunted-best-picture-mix-2018-oscars-52545828

Another Website I have this problem is at Amazon.com. I can watch the actual Movies on all browsers with no problems; but if I watch a Trailer of a Movie on Amazon.com, I get no picture, just sound.....Except both the picture and sound work on trailers if I'm using IE.

I have reinstalled browsers, Checked installs on Flash. Firefox really runs slow on OS Win 10.
