Browser extensions at times---particularly when I have multiple tabs open, will NOT REMAIN TOGGLED OFF. (i.e. DISABLED) I slide the toggle to OFF, and in roughly 10 seconds it toggles itself back on. So, Short of closing the multiple tabs I have open and or clearing my caches and shutting down my browser and restarting it, is there a way to DISABLE extension(s) that WILL NOT remain DISABLED by making some change in the "INSPECT" menu or in the "about:config" menu? This is REALLY ANNOYING!

This has been happening for about two / three years. I'm just now inquiring for help with this issue. I'd be surprised there isn't some way to disable browser extensions that WILL NOT remain disabled, using advanced methods, i.e., something a intermediate PC user that can tweak / change.

Hello Mozilla Support!

I just installed Firefox 98.0 this morning. I was very surprised to discover that I can no longer view an attachment in Firefox or open an attachment without also downloading it.

If you can, please ask the developers to reinstate the Download Attachment options to "Open with Firefox" and "Open with [select the program]" without automatically downloading every attachment.

Thank you!

Hello, I'm not sure if I chose the right topic above.

I'm trying to visit a site which is still using http. But Firefox is automatically redirecting to https, where of course it cannot resolve the site.

In settings, I have it set for "Don’t enable HTTPS-Only Mode". But still, Ff is redirecting.

I don't know. Maybe I should set for https only, and then enter an exception??

I have searched for a solution, but for every solution I find, when I look up how to do it, it says, before you try this, try that first. After about 5 rounds of that, I got too confused and gave up.

Oh, I also cleared the cache, but no help.

I've enabled all the extra info below. But let me know if you need any other specific info. Do you need the address of the website?

Thank you very much.

I been using Amazon for a number of years. Until a couple of weeks ago the product videos yielded a message "video not supported by this browser". I liked that because I use the internet selectively - I have a filter that provides me with a "white list" of sites I wish to access, and unless I make a special request, I cannot access other sites. Similarly I try to avoid most videos. Recently the Amazon product videos have been accessible. Is there some way Firefox can once again "not support" them? Thank you very much.

My question concerns this Download Library that I found in version 98.

I do not like it now want it.

In doing a search to remedy this I came upon Download history window in support. It said to go to about:config page and change from True to False on browser.download.alwaysOpenPanel = false. I did this and this Download Library is still there.

How do I stop having a History of my Downloads?

I get the developers think the new features might be needed and good, and some are very beneficial. But, sometimes just leave things alone. At least have some setting in Privacy & Security to give those the option to turn it off. Was that not option? You all are coders, just add a few more lines of code. Easy for me to say.

Thank you Irv

I upgraded to version 98 on March 12, 2022 now on March 13, 2022 when I download a .docx file it no longer opens in WordPerfect as it did in version 97.0.2! Instead it asks to SAVE the file! That is NOT what I want to do! I want to open it without saving. I have spent a lot of time this morning trying to figure this out and getting no where.

Hello, Just recently the pull down menus on all sites including this page here, do not work. If I click the arrow the menu pops up & immediately disappears. I cannot choose any of the things listed in the menu. I have to try a 1st letter or number to see if that matches any of the items on the menu. Also, every time I use the CTRL button, the screen resizes! Every copy & paste makes the screen get larger, and I have to manually size back down to normal. I have tried the Firefox refresh, and it made no difference. Is there an update I can take off, or a new one that will fix these issues? Thank you Christine

I have some serious doubts about Firefox that said here are three issue that are creating these doubts. 1 I have continued to see Japanese character in the DuckDuckGo Search Text Box. I gave up and and have now tried to use Google as the search engine seems to fix the issue. Very SAD Fix Not sure who is responsible Firefox or DuckDuckGo

2 When I open Firefox I would like the cursor to be placed in the Search Text Box.

I see a lot of answers none of which work This makes the support help for Firefox close to useless Sorry I am kind of tired of out of date answers

3 I find the pocket less than useful and would like to hide it. Once again out of date answers.

So If I can get an answer to number 2 and 3 I might continue to use Firefox but as of now I am spending too much time looking for answers to what should be easy fixes To BE CLEAR I am NOT talking abut the Search Bar at the top of the Page.

Hello,

From the version 89... we have a non solutioned problem with Firefox... In Belgium, we use a "electronic Identification card" to access differents officials web site. but with Firefox I (We!!!) have a problem... the identification process loop with a message "Please insert the smart card" ??? After I receive the message: "Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to certif.iamfas.belgium.be. A PKCS #11 module returned CKR_GENERAL_ERROR, indicating that an unrecoverable error has occurred.

Error code: SEC_ERROR_PKCS11_GENERAL_ERROR"

I restart, I reinstall FF, I reinstall the eID software... no way!!! But it's work fine with Chrome, Edge,... Why not with Firefox 98.0.2 ?!? It's very important to find a solution for the belgian users, without this support, the users go to Chrome, Edge,... Have a nice day, Philippe

Yum SSL Connection Problem

I am attempting a yum EOL upgrade on a 5 year old Centos 6.5 server. I have performed the same upgrade procedure on 4 other Centos 6.5 servers without any problems. "yum" is the Centos utility used to download and install system packages from Centos repositories. This is a Catch 22. Since yum on this server is after End-Of-Life for the operating system, yum is not working on this server. Since the current yum installation on this server is not working, I am not able to use yum to download any Centos 6.5 system packages. There are yum servers that are made available to support yum after the operating system End-Of-Life. This requires manually modifying the yum configuration files in yum.repos.d to point to the Centos 6.5 End-Of-Life yum repositories. I have made this change on a number of Centos 6.5 servers without any problems, but one very important server is failing to connect to the Centos 6.5 End-Of-Life repository. Since yum is not working on this server, I can not upgrade Firefox. When I attempt to manually upgrade Firefox with a Firefox RPM, the upgrade fails because of a large number of library dependencies. This makes upgrading Firefox on the server manually almost impossible. A simple solution would be to perform a full operating system upgrade on the computer, but that would wipe out all the files on the computer. My only option is to fix the yum EOL SSL connection problem with the version of Firefox installed on this computer. The SSL error is:

https://vault.centos.org/6.10/os/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] problem making ssl connection Trying other mirror. Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: base. Please verify its path and try again

I have googled this error and attempted several suggested solutions, but none have worked. I went into about.config, and made the following changes:

In about:config, I tried setting:

security.tls.version.max;4

security.ssl3.rsa_aes_128_sha;false security.ssl3.rsa_aes_256_sha;false security.ssl3.rsa_des_ede3_sha;false

These changes are not helping. I did not make these changes on other Firefox installations for this yum EOL upgrade, and they are working fine.

I do not know what is unique about this particular server that is causing the SSL Connection problem with:

https://vault.centos.org/6.10/os/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml

On all other servers, I can successfully connect with that server.

Again the yum connection error is:

https://vault.centos.org/6.10/os/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] problem making ssl connection Trying other mirror. Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: base. Please verify its path and try again

If I attempt to connect to this server using Firefox on this server, the connection fails with the error:

Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to vault.centos.org. Cannot communicate securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm(s). (Error code: ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap)

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. Alternatively, use the command found in the help menu to report this broken site.

I would appreciate any suggestions that you could make to help with these connection problems. I do not know what is unique about this particular Centos 6.5 server configuration that could be causing this problem. Your help with this problem would be appreciated.
