Fist I would like to participate with Firefox more - I want to become more a part of the community - and add in my consultant expertise Next I would like to suggest several things, but today just one - your Updates
I cannot take this anymore. Every couple weeks there is some update, and it is unacceptable - it disrupts my life. I do not want to restart my computer, I have dozens of documents and files open that I am working on, and this interferes with my daily routines, and as a top activist in your circle u are not yet aware of... its KIND OF important!
Straight up a vast majority of these updates should be released in 'packs' around the start of the month, and then I will not mind, but every couple weeks and the icon to download pops up continuously and then restarts my computer by force - that is MSN bully actions - like come on team... it is annoying as hell!
It's gotta change as it is even more annoying than bookmarks being saved on my home page in the top spots - blank is better than something that is not needed there - the Firefox browser home is a VERY important organizational tool for your members AND is your 'face' to the world that u are not using even at par to help your success.
As for other suggestions I would like to help in the future. Especially when it comes to you guys asking for with emails to get operational capital - I want to help - so I have sent letters in response and received no answers! If the Capitalist Elite will collapse the economy to repurchase everything back at half price, during that time many entities that receive public funding will no longer survive, as the public will be in bread lines.
The time to evolve your community has arrived... contact me for the next levels...

In other 'apps' on windows 10 the tooltip is above the pointer or below it. In Firefox it is directly under the mouse. So usually any tooltip popup in firefox is unreadable, mostly. One can infer the content sometimes.
How do i change that? Or what is the problem?
I'll try and include a screenshot. Hmm, the screenshot didn't include the mouse. I think i can do a video with OBS and then a screenshot of that.
Interesting, somehow in the screenshot from the obs video it shows 2 mouse pointers. One is very small and the tooltip is just below that, but the other is larger (the one I see) and it covers the tooltip. I'm using the standard windows mouse settings for larger mouse pointers. I just tried using the 'old' mouse settings to select a larger mouse and it behaves the same way. If I select size: 1 in the new size settings, and the old settings i have 'windows system' mouse, then the tooltip is under the pointer but the size is too small for the pointer. I then changed to another mouse setting in the old selector "inverted extra large" and you can see the tooltip because of the 'inverted' nature of the pointer, but the tooltip is still partially covered by the pointer.
Ideally the choice would be to put the tooltip above the mouse pointer rather than below. When you increase the size of the mouse pointer it only increases down, not up. The point of the pointer is always at the top.
I'm going to try one more thing, increasing the size in the new settings after having selected "inverted", but i recall that it changes to the new pointer style. Ah, there is an inverted setting in the new options as well, and if i select that instead of the gray color i was using then one can read the tooltip through the mouse.
So, then my question becomes "can I put the tooltip above the mouse pointer?" Because it is still covered by the mouse pointer as is. I don't see anything in 'about:config', so far.
Thank you.

I'm interested in learning more about Firefox's about:config configuration settings. I'm especially interested in why the developers have added the ability to create your own preferences for Firefox. It seems to be kind of similar to the Microsoft Windows registry, like how you can add your own custom values and suddenly windows behaves differently. But whenever I have configured the registry in windows, I have always had to follow tutorials, and I have always wondered how people were able to discover those registry settings. Did they have to have knowledge of the internals of the windows operating source code? Did they hack windows and discover that altering a certain registry setting, or adding a certain registry value, would cause the behavior to change? How did they come to understand such things? I recently edited the registry to change the right click menu in windows 11 back to the old windows 10 right click menu. I had to add a really long value into the registry, and it fixed it just like what I was used to in windows 10. But I have no idea how the person that wrote the tutorial knew to add that exact value.
So, I'm wondering if the settings are hidden, and that's why you have to create them on your own? Or if by creating your own preference, one is programming the browser on some level... If so, what's the extent of programming that can be done by altering about:config and creating your own preferences? I have decent programming knowledge of javascript, C/C++, and python and all, but I don't understand something as complex as a browser, and why would you allow the user to create their own preferences, but I would like to. To clarify, I see there are preferences in about:config which are visible and can easily be configured, but I do not understand why there is a feature to add a setting. Is it just for developers of the browser? Is there ever a situation where a normal user like me might need to add their own preference? Can you recommend any manuals, documents, or books that I could read about it? Do you think it's something where I would just have to start reading the source code to eventually understand it?
One last question: is it possible to disable certain javascript features using the about:config? Could I disable MutationObserver, for example? Or make it be undefined whenever a new tab is opened? Could I make it so that assigning to window.location has no effect? I'm interested to know these things and what is possible. Sorry for the long winded message, I doubt anyone will read it, but thank you if you read it, and thank you even more if you have answers. I have found the source code for firefox, but it seems to be a daunting task to just read the raw source code to get the answers I want.

Interestingly, today after changing motherboards and my old hard drives after my old MB died. Windows 10 reconfigured everything for audio except Firefox. After a lot of troubleshooting using various methods with no success (as all other aspects of windows 10 audio were working perfectly), I eventually stumbled upon a solution that finally worked for me.
In Windows 10, there is an app that varies individual app volume that eventually fixed my issue and i thought it best to post here for others, if they also have this particular problem.
All i did was the following:
1. Do a windows search for "App Volume". This will display Sound Mixer Options. Select it.
2. In the App Volume and device preferences screen that appears, go to Mozilla Firefox.
a. Ensure Volume is at a setting you prefer. b. Output/Input are most likely showing Default. Mine did but YouTube video's still had no sound. Change the Defaults to the same as the Masters at the top of the window and try your audio. Mine started to work again at this stage. After i confirmed everything was working again, i changed Mozilla Firefox Output/Inputs back to Default and it continued to work perfectly.
Please note that I made sure all my OTHER audios were working first with W10 before doing this, ensuring everything was functioning properly. ie. Other browsers were playing youtube videos with sound, playing an audio music file, etc

I have a website with a major audio mp3 library. When testing the audio player in Firefox I loss the speed and download functions of the player. The right click option is not really what I am looking for visually and practically for my users. When in Microsoft Edge or Chrome the player has the extended functions visible to the user. As I am principally a firefox user, I'd really like to find a solution. Three images attached show the issue. Any help is appreciated. Regards Erwin Henderson

Hi there,
for ages, I was slightly annoyed by not being able to choose audio output for video conferencing in my browser favourite, Firefox. I think it is time to move this to more prominence as it is solved for ages and exists as experimental feature: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=934425 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1294381
Toggle"hidden" config parameter media.setsinkid.enabled to true (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Firefox/Experimental_features#apis) to enable it.
Could you find good places to share this? My impression is that this default is a huge UX disadvantage of firefox vs. chrome at the moment.
Best, Baltasar

Hello. For some time, under each entered expression in the sent post office there has been a red "wavy" underlining. The problem is to choose a language. In my case it is Polish. Unfortunately, in the Firefox browser, which I use, there is no option to change the language to Polish (Annex 1) as it is in the Google Chrome browser (Annex 2). Why? I would like to add that this phenomenon only occurs in the case of Onet in Firefox. How can this be removed? Regards Alex.

I've got about 10 bookmarks with links to support pages each about adjusting specific about:config setting to my needs. Thanks
