Hello,

I just had Firefox overwrote a session restore I had open for a long time with a few hundred tabs. Is there any way to see prior session history or backup these sessions without manually copying the files? If not will these features ever be added?

Yesterday, 50% of my bookmarks were deleted and now I can't bookmark anything. I tried to restore my bookmarks to several previous dates, but I received the following message each time:

Unable to process the backup file.

I tried to bookmark different websites and no bookmarks are saved now. I updated to the latest Firefox today and no change.

I opened a profile that I had just used recently to a blank tab bar. I closed it and the sessionstore-backup folder did not have a recent backup, The most recent about a week old.

Just for testing, I tried to restore with one of the upgrade.jsonlz4 file, about 2 weeks old, but it also had no session. I then restored one that was 2 months old. That one had a session

Now, Firefox no longer generates the upgrade.jsonlz4 files

I'm writing because I’ve encountered an issue with the tab groups feature in Firefox.

Some time ago, after a browser update, I noticed a new feature that allowed me to group tabs thematically — I could name each group (e.g., "Study", "Work"), choose a color for it, and save and close groups to reopen them later. I found it very useful and used it a lot.

Last night, I decided to declutter my browser and closed several tab groups using the built-in menu. A bit later, I shut down my computer, but perhaps too quickly. This morning, when I turned my computer back on, Firefox was very slow to start. After a restart, everything seemed to work fine again, and the open tabs were restored.

However, all my previously saved (but temporarily closed) tab groups disappeared. In the tab group menu, I can now only see the ones currently open. I’ve searched through all the settings and history but cannot find any way to restore the missing groups.

Is there any way to recover the tab groups that I had previously saved and closed?

3 times now, my account has completely reset, forcing me to log into everything again and not working with the key that I copy and pasted and downloaded. I would like my old data back. Why does this keep happening?

I use the Firefox browser.

While online, as I pressed a letter , Firefox closed, and its icon on the Taskbar disappeared.

After finding a Mozilla support page, and updating the browser, I found that all of my Bookmarks had disappeared.

And even worse. I tapped the 3 bars in the upper right corner to go to > Settings > Privacy Security > Saved Passwords. All of my Passwords were eliminated too. This is disastorous.

Help, I'm 71 years old.

you asked me to change my profile, choose a color and I did. But when I wanted to Firefox, all my old password and bookmarks had disappeared. I want them back if I am going to continue to use Firefox as my favorite browser.

You cant just delete all my bookmarks. Im almost in tears to have lost so much. This is beyond a joke, beyond any kind of punishment or war-crime.

How can you have the ability to delite so many bookmarks that people treasure and live with on a whim through b.s. with no apology, no meaning or reason given.

You are atrocious. This action will have caused immeasurable pain and grief to me because you suddenly decide one day you can wipe out all bookmarks on an account for no reason at all.

All of my bookmarks have been disappeared with a new automatic update (9/22) and now I'm left with no bookmarks at all. My other devices were not synced because my work computer needed different links saved. Any easy options for recovery? The bookmark management tool shows no options to import bookmarks and clicking any of the restore or import options does literally nothing. This is a huge issue for work flow and is putting me out of schedule. Why would an update remove ALL bookmarks? Seems like a serious over look in function.

I'm not exactly clueless, but I'm not an engineer. For some reason, I had three open Firefox/Mozilla browsers open on the taskbar but connected to one icon. Today, I've lost the browser with all of my frequently used sites, and tons of research, family, friends, World War II, finances, etc. The other two browsers had one tab, and maybe ten-fifteen tabs, respectively.

How do I restore the main browser?

FF 145.0.2 (64 bit) canonical-002 - 1.0 running on Kubuntu 25.10 has suddenly started locking up completely after a minute or so with an "unresponsive". As I have just put in the crash reporter: "I haven't had problems with FF before but just possible that this relates to my growing problems with Thunderbird see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1551791. I putting a question in Mozill Support about trying to keep my tabs and perhaps groups before doing a complete reinstall." So my questions here are:

• I am planning to to a complete clean reinstallation from snap but is there a better (more stable) installation?
• either snap specific or generically: is there a way I can find the open tab list from the debris of this snap installation (and perhaps the groups but that's less important)?

Hi customer service, please help me to restore firefox data & tabs before today. my firefox update this evening crashed & unable to restore. Million thanks

The new version of Firefox has been uploaded to my desktop withoiut any notification or communication to me. I have now lost all shortcuts and other data stored on my original Firefox, indeed, I have been taken back to the original as if I am a new user. I have used Firefox for many years. How do I retrieve all of the lost data from my old version? I am not a techie so please advise in simple step by step measures. Thank you. Regards Martin Forge

I lost all my IT hardware and and just have my mobile phone. Now I am at a internetcafe. Where can I find my safed firefox bookmarks without installing firefox browser ?

I just used CCleaner health check and when done all my bookmarks were gone. I've had CCleaner for years and never had this happen before (laptop). The troubleshooting list was unclear and did not correct the problem.

mozilla keeps closing out.When it does I lose all passwords and bookmarks.I'm not even home when this happens.This started when I bought a new computer which has windows 11.Old one had 10.When some bookmarks come back they are old one or the don't work
