how come when ever i install any antivirus except for windows defender do i get this in Firefox Your browser is being managed by your organization. i went to policies but do not know what to do why can this not be removed from Firefox what do i need to do in policies to get rid of this. here is what i get in policies did not remove any thing this is what i get help please thi is documentation in policies.. When I start typing in the URL bar a search engine drop down appears. I do not want that to happen because when I do the URL text moves. I have turned off every search setting that I could find on the settings page, as well as trying various settings in about config.

Hi. I have followed the instructions on the Mozilla site above however this does not work. The Enterprise Roots keep reloading after a while.

Any idea how to stop this happening?

I have read many articles on this but nothing works. The E Roots will in initially not reload but eventually after a day or three its back.

Using 2025-04 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5055612) Firefox 138.0.1 (64-bit) and says it is up todate. I have looked at the about:config to find the browser.tabs.remote.autostart but it does not exist in the list of processes. I have also unchecked in settings both performance options intermitently to try and correct this problem, but nothing happens: (unchecked) Use recommended performance settings Learn more These settings are tailored to your computer’s hardware and operating system. (Unchecked) Use hardware acceleration when available Nothing pops up to allow choosing a different number as many support articles say. I have AdBlocker running as an add on and turned off the duck duck go privacy essentials and still nothing stops these insane amount of processes clogging up my computer. right now, on this page there is only this tab open and there are 13 processes running. How to remove thumbtack icon from quick link icons on the homepage of Firefox.

The little thumbtack icon was by the name of the quick link on my home page. I updated to 139.0.4 and now thumbtack in top left corner of quick link icon. I want the thumbtack gone.

Why is there in about:config no reference to documentation of the displayed settings?

e.g. browser.chrome.toolbar_tips.hide_on_keydown

What is it? What is the meaning of the values? What is the default value? Why do we have to guess?

It is probably documented somewhere (I hope). Why is there no reference to it in about:config?

For the past several days I have not had any sound when linked to video from news email and others. The sound icon on the face of the video is completely at fullest. I am 88 years old and have very limited digital skills. I have not been able to understand how to restore the sound. Don't understand why or how this happened. Please help. Susan J Morris

Hello: Thanks for creating Firefox. This is my first question after more than a decade using it. I couldn't find proper information about this. This week Firefox started to show a tiny shopping cart icon over the task bar icon of Firefox (image attached). I don´t know what it's and I can't find the functionality that make that appear. So, How do I disable it? I use Firefox everywhere, and I don't like it, specially in my job's laptop as my boss can occasionally see it and it's obviously not work-related in my case. I use chatgpt to get answers and it points to a "Shopping Assistant" feature, but I don't find it. Is it related? The term is so common that I couldn't narrow down to my specific question (what is it and how to disable it)

As the question stated I have navigated to my mozilla profile folder, ( C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\pw1dnvcy.default-release ) but there is no file called persdict.dat. I have ensured all file name extensions are visible, & none are hidden in windows file explorer (Win 10). I am at al loss I cannot figure this out.

On various websites with embedded podcasts, when the file goes past 1h the volume 'slider' goes away and becomes a basic mute/unmute button. How can i force Firefox to always display the volume slider?

Sat. 04/19/2025 @9:10 am CDT - Hi. About 2 months ago on any Settings page, FF began to show "your browser is being managed by your organization." The problem is - it's a STANDALONE box, not connected to any network beyond my ISP. I do own websites but I'm not perpetually logged into the host company, so their switch to Microsoft Entra wouldn't have an effect, I would think.

What settings do I change to make FF know that I'm not on a network? Thanks in advance.

Please I want to remove Ai from Firefox Mozila permanently on Windows 11 for all users/profiles:

I tried a lot of workarounds but they are unsuccessfully: I tried to create extensions (Hide Gemini, AI Google Overview), but they do not work for all users; only profile-based extensions are supported. I tried to use preferences using internal settings on Firefox, but it does not apply to all users. I tried using a script on PowerShell for all users merging internal preferences, but it does not work I copied the local and roaming settings from Firefox to the Default profile, but it was unsuccessful.

I also tried to remove "All" from the search page, but I moved the seach to go to the tab "Web" only.

The Problem Currently, Firefox lacks the ability to translate web pages into Ukrainian. Ukrainian is not available in the list of supported languages for translation, and users have no way to add it manually through browser settings. Why This Matters

Large user base: Ukrainian is the native language of over 40 million people worldwide Information accessibility: Many Ukrainian users need to translate English and other foreign language content Competitiveness: Other browsers (such as Google Chrome) already support translation into Ukrainian Inclusivity: Adding Ukrainian language would make Firefox more accessible to Ukrainian-speaking users Injustice of current situation: Firefox includes Russian language - the language of an aggressor country that is waging war against Ukraine, bombing civilians, and occupying Ukrainian territories. Meanwhile, the language of the heroic Ukrainian people, who are defending their independence and democratic values, remains unavailable in the browser

Technical Feasibility Mozilla Firefox uses its own Firefox Translations tool based on machine learning technology. Given that quality machine translation systems for Ukrainian already exist (Google Translate, DeepL, and others), technical implementation of this feature is entirely feasible. Important note: If Firefox already supports Russian language, then adding Ukrainian should not present significant technical challenges, as both languages belong to the Slavic group and have similar linguistic characteristics. This makes the absence of Ukrainian even more puzzling. Our Request We ask you to consider:

Adding Ukrainian to the list of supported translation languages Ensuring quality translation from major European languages (English, German, French, Spanish, etc.) into Ukrainian Providing the ability to translate from Ukrainian into other languages

I cannot receive a page from the copyright office because they say I have a popup blocker preventing it. How do I find it to turn it off. It is not in the system settings when searched. Help please.

Updated recently from (I believe) 138.04 to 139.0.1, and immediately noticed that the size of font (and icons) had changed in the folders I have in the bookmark toolbar, that is they are much smaller and thus also less space between. Why this, and is it possible to change the size, without changing something else?

It's possible that many don't have folders in the toolbar and thus don't notice, but I have 2-3 apart from bookmarks.

I remember a change many versions ago that increased the space between entries in the bookmark menu, and also in the bookmark toolbar folders. That was too much and I found a setting [in config] that could be changed to decrease the space back then. (I haven't looked for that solution now, probably have some doc somewhere, and won't bother searching since this is different. Same with this case; I did some quick initial search but found next to nothing and older. BTW, this is one of the downsides of changes like these and similar; the day you have too move to another OS version, i.e. reinstall everything you also have to keep documentation of all these little changes, apart from all the other things you'll have to export or save.)
