Where is the configuration setting that enables javascript. Consumer Reports requires that the application be enabled to participate in a webinar I want to attend

This is Firefox 142.0.1 on Windows 10. I prefer to have a local copy of the Firefox profile saved to a USB stick as a simple backup and for copying to another PC if necessary. I have been doing this for years, but now I am unable to do so because Windows gives me an "access denied" error for all of the files in the top-level profile directory. I cannot even open them in Administrator mode. If I try to copy the profile directory as described in your help pages, it says that I need permission from the account that I am logged in as in order to access the files! I have been using Windows since version 3.0 and I cannot understand what Firefox has done to make the profile inaccessible to everything but itself. Obviously, Firefox is able to read the files without additional permissions, so why can't I?

I have tried all of the recommended ideas in the articles about reloading bookmarks and nothing has worked.

i got the new update but i have one problem. where is the home button on the toolbar? i would like to just press that like before instead of opening a new page and closing the old one

See the image below, how do I prevent that black box showing up and showing anyone who uses my device my sensitive data? How is this not a common setting to be changed?

Very insecure and Horrible to have on by default. Recently switched to firefox from chrome because of security concerns but stuff like this is making me want to go back, because HOW IS THIS SAFE AND SECURE?!?!?!?

I've typed in passwords in boxes that arent really password boxes, and firefox has suggested my own password in plain sight like in the image below.

Strongly recommend firefox to not make this default and make it an accessible setting to disable because I've leaked my sensitive information to online calls because of this. This urgently needs to be addressed as a security concern. At least have a cogwheel button next to the black box to quickly disable this setting. Very very disappointed.

Yesterday I got a prompt saying there was an update available for download. Today when restarting my laptop and opening Firefox ALL of my bookmarks are missing!!! My bookmark toolbar is also empty. Where did all of this important stuff go? Please help me restore this my information asap. I am freaking out!

Hi Guys, I have used Firefox browser to open and use Yahoo Finance for many years without any problems. On Wednesday 16th July 2025, suddenly, I could not download any stock charts. At first I thought it was a glitch with yahoo itself. However after a lot of searching and frustrating trial and error I seem to have pinpointed the problem to my Firefox browser. These charts will open as normal in Chrome. I have refreshed, uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox without success. Any ideas please?

Cannot open AOL Mail or Facebook at times after sleeping my PC. If I revert to my Laptop or using MS Edge on my PC all is fine. I have reinstalled Firefox, but problem persists from time to time.
