Hi All,

I've set Firefox to open PDFs in the default system application (I'm on Linux, KDE, Firefox 146). With previous versions it worked fine. Now, it won't open the file; instead it shows a popup that I have to click to open the file.

Is there a setting I can tweak to get the old behavior back?

Stop with the AI garbage. Please.

AI is a notorious waste of space in software and all it does is bog down the experience and make everything harder for everyone. Also it is notorious for collecting information and violating users privacy like the lab rats you apparently take us for.

I loved Firefox because I could use it comfortably without all of this stupid AI crap making my life harder. I've already hacked my browser to make sure this doesn't appear but I'm not satisfied. To any other firefox tech reading this get that Anthony guy out of here. We don't want him, and we don't want AI.

If Firefox becomes an "AI browser" as it's new CEO says I will switch to another browser. The privacy and environmental problems alone are enough for me to warrant this change, to say nothing of how it's slowing the browser itself down and making it worse. I'm sick and tired of AI shoving itself into every single aspect of life, taking things that already worked fine on their own and making them worse for no reason, in addition to ruining the planet and encroaching more and more on the privacy of everyday folks like myself. Anthony Enzor-DeMeo's insistence that we should "trust" this hypothetical version of the browser is frankly sickening, and everyone involved in this scam should be ashamed.

I've been doing free advertising for Firefox for years, successfully convincing friends, family and coworkers to reject chromium browsers and make the difficult choice to switch browsers and get use to a new interface on Firefox. I know most people like me are able to do this by touting that Firefox actually cares about keeping your data private and allowing users to opt in to many "features" that chromium browsers have you opt out of. Unfortunately with the recent inclusion of AI settings that have been turned on by default and hidden under layers of setting menus, it looks like Firefox is turning to the same tactics we came here to escape. If this trend coninues, I won't be able to in good concious recommend this browser to others, and might as well just switch back to chrome which more websites have better support for. I hope the company makes the right decision and keeps AI out of Firefox

Just wanted to add my voice to the complaints about further AI being added to firefox. Firefox as a browser is a refuge from the enshittification of the internet as a whole, with it being one of the few non-chromium browser options, please dont join in the effort to force AI on everyone. At the very least it shouldnt take multiple options to disable AI in my browser. But at best I would love to see firefox development focused on performance rather than more AI bullshit that only CEO's want.

Hello everybody, i hope you are having a great day!. I have a problem with Youtube about the frames drops, in 1080p60fps i have drops but in 1080p normal don't. For system operative i'm using Fedora 43. And the Firefox version is the 145.0.1 64 bits. My specs are low: Intel i5 6200u with his integrated graphics (Intel HD 520) Already installed the extension h264ify, and i think i have all the correct drivers and codecs from the rpmfusion (ffmpeg, mesa freeworld) If u need more detail and information i can give it to you. I know I am far from the first person to bring this up, but it is absolutely horrid how a browser that is supposed to be one of the better options for privacy is starting to integrate more and more unwanted AI "features". None of us want this, nobody asked for this. Generative AI (including LLMs like ChatGPT and its equivalents) is horrific to even try to get a correct answer out of. It's simply processing your input and guessing what you want to hear in its output. It doesn't give facts, it doesn't help the user experience, it just makes things worse.

Every single time a new AI...thing is added, I have to go find a way to turn it off. If this keeps going, I cannot see a future where Firefox is a viable option for secure browsing. If anything, it may actually become on-par with or, dare I say worse than Google Chrome.

This wave of so-called AI (really nothing of the sort) is a nightmare for security, usability, performance and efficiency and if you keep forcing it on us I'll be jumping ship, probably for whichever fork excising it all gets popular.

I've been using first the Mozilla suite and then Firefox (since it was called Firebird, even) for twenty years now, don't do this to the browser I love.

Please remove and do not add any AI/ML features to Firefox, it's the only mainstream browser of this kind left, i was planning on buying some merch but I don't think this company deserves my money if it tries to make cash off me in an insidious way either way

I am very disappointed with the recent news from Firefox's new CEO to evolve into an AI browser. I specifically have been using Firefox to avoid AI generated results like those in Google/Bing. Firefox is losing its reputation as a trustworthy, user-first browser. I will stop using Firefox if/when these AI features are added.
