I am using a new Windows 11 computer. I use Firefox for almost everything. But it opens many processes and it very quickly gets to the point where anything I do causes a hang. If I am listening to music or a podcast it pauses and buzzes. This AM I turned on the computer and opened Firefox, without reopening an old session. I had open two windows with two tabs in each window. Using Windows Task Manager I determined that Firefox has twenty-one processes open. Some of them have the efficiency leaf and some do not. I do not use an Add-On manager, but use MalWareBytes for a VPN and protection. Please help.

I like Mozilla Firefox and feel safe searching with DuckDuckGo. My "subject" tells my story. How can I feel safe returning to you? Ann Marie

For quite some time I have been tolerating Firefox when it takes 10 seconds to load. Opera loads immediately. I am close to jumping ship.

When I have multiple tabs open, around the 6th tab, the entire computer freezes. I have to press the physical button to shut down and restart. This behavior started with the last Firefox update. It doesn't happen when I use Brave browser. What changed to cause this?
I'm running Mozilla Firefox for Linux Mint mint 100 - 1.0 version 141.0.3 (64 bit) on Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon. These are the latest versions of Mint and of Firefox for Mint.

Im using Windows 10 Pro 64 bit on a Asus laptop with 32GB RAM in it and a i9-9980HK @ 2.40GHz. It has a GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card in it with 6GB memory. I use it for work and need to have multiple tabs open at a time as a result. I always have at least 4 tabs and can sometimes get up to around 10. I also have Zoom running as well.
I keep seeing a ton of Firefox processes open when I look at Task Manager. Attached is a screenshot I just took with 7 tabs open. It shows 34 processes in the first clump with more open outside of that one.
I unchecked Use recommended performance settings and checked Use hardware acceleration when available but all that did is lower the amount of RAM being used by 100MB. I have 2 extensions enabled in Firefox, AdBlocker for YouTube and AdBlocker Ultimate. They have never been a problem before. This lag and massive overusage of RAM has only started in the last couple of weeks.
Anyone know why this is happening or how to reduce how much RAM Firefox is using? I like this browser and would have to have to switch to another one. Thanks in advance.

Hello Firefox Support,
Since the latest update of the Firefox browser, I have been experiencing frequent freezes. The browser becomes unresponsive when performing basic actions such as:
When this happens, the only way to recover is to close Firefox and reopen it.
Could you please advise on how to resolve this issue?
Thank you for your support.

Ever since this month's Windows 10 update I've been having problems with Firefox. I start it, the menu bar and tab comes up, but then nothing. I can't access any web sites. I tried removing the Windows update, then tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, and then messing with the settings. In each case Firefox would work for a couple of days, then I'd have to start it three or four times to get it to work, then it wouldn't work at all. I've been using it for 10 or more years now (four on this computer) and have never had any problems before. I'm loathe to switch to another browser, but if this can't be fixed I won't have any choice. This is what happens when I start the program.

I am on Windows for ARM devices and running Firefox 142.0.1 (aarch64). When I use Firefox for any extended period of time, I'll start to notice these blank icon pages accumulating when I hover over the icon on my taskbar. Nothing happens if I hover or click on any of them and clicking the 'x' on the right will not close them. They stay even after I close the browser and until I restart the computer. Has anyone seen this issue and know of anything that could fix this? I hesitate to reinstall right now, as I'm not signed into a Firefox account on this browser (this is my work computer). I appreciate any and all replies. Thank you!

Hello. Yesterday when I started my PC, the Firefox browser wouldn't restore my previous session. This has of course happened before, so I restarted, but that didn't help. So then I have to restore all the pages myself, boring. BUT, when firefox doesn't remember any of my usual pages, I'm starting to worry. Then I think I want to update Firefox, and that's when I discover my main problem.....I can't access the menu in the three symbols at the top right (shown in the picture/attachment). I can't open my profile, can't open extensions, can't download anything or open the downloads icon, and most importantly, CAN NOT open the "Open application menu" (the icon with three horizontal lines), so THEN I have a big problem. The menu bar and everything there is available, but without access to "Open application menu" I can't reinstall Firefox. I can't save bookmarks either, or see if the bookmarks are in a backup or something. So, I don't dare delete firefox, then reinstall it, without knowing if I'll find my bookmarks again. I've tried saving them to a file, but I've never heard of a JSON file, and I don't know how to process it. I should also add that I deleted all my AVAST anti virus programs and files two days ago. And I have found out that I do have the latest firefox update. Hope someone can help me or give me some tips. I'm not particularly computer savvy either, just so you know. And I'm norwegian :) Thanx, Bendik.
