installed latest FIREFOX, but cannot recover previous passwords and bookmarks Used to use 'Sync' login and password and it would auto download to the clean Firsfoc install. Now it wont ans years of passwords have vanished and I am in trouble! Please advise

Hello! See the screenshot please: so, I downloaded à pay-bill, with Firefox (under ubuntu), in private navigation, and I get the file with a padlock-symbol at the end. What means that? What means that for me (on my computer), what means that for à friend, when I sent him the pdt-file (can he open it?). Nota: I understood that I can choose between "delete downloads when closing the privat window" or not. And I choosed not to delete them (but there appears this padlock-symbol). Thanks for your help! When right-clicking on the Firefox icon in the Windows task bar one has the option to "pin" items by hovering over an entry in the "frequent" list and clicking on the little pin needle icon (with the hover text "Pin to this list").

How can I pin items that are not in the frequent list? I have tried for weeks to make an important page a frequent one by making sure to visit it daily but it never makes it to the list.

Hi there, I'm wondering why Firefox is crashing tabs like crazy for me the last few days. Chat Gpt reckons these screenshots indicate a problem with the JavaScript Engine. I'm looking for expert help to differentiate the cause so I can be sure my hardware isn't damaged. Scrolling fb or youtube , even using chat gpt and firefox just throws me a crashed tab. I have uploaded the reports that chat gpt has reviewed to ensure it is being accurate.

I'm mainly looking to find out so I can rule out if there are problems with my hardware .Any help identifying the source of the errors would be greatly appreciated!

After checking for updates I will then go to SETTINGS> IT clearly shows that I am running Windows 11 PRO.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHY IN PLACES THAT ARE TRACKING ME AND TAKING MY PERSONAL INFORMATI0N, THAT IT SH0WS OR SAYS THAT I am running Windows 10? I often see it if I sign into one of the many different accounts that require 2 factor authentication, which will send me a notification alerting me that someone has signed into my account from a NEW DEVICE. OR FROM AN UNKNOWN DEVICE. That is when they ask if I recognize this login and it shows device and location from which the login attempt is happening. IF I answered honestly, (because it is showing a login attempt happening from a (WINDOWS 10 SYSTEM) and my system shows Me that it is running Windows 11 PR0: it would flag as suspicious and my account would get locked up for sure. Instead, because of the odd hour of the night it occurs, that combined with the location I know it is myself and even though it says "ON A SYSTEM RUNNING WIND0WS 10", I force myself to lie and answer that I do recognize the attempt. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP FIND A SOLUTI0N TO THIS ERROR. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

When right-clicking on the Firefox icon in the Windows task bar one can pin entries, which then appear in the "Pinned" section of that menu. The description is taken from the title of the website at that point in time.

I would like to rename one such entry (i.e. change the description). How can I do this? The context menu only contains the options "Open" and "Unpin from this list".

So, after using firefox in the background to browse websites or watch videos I checked my memory usage in firefox with about:memory -> Measure and saw that youtube was consuming a decent amount >2GB (checked the main url when clicking the youtube src, it was the video on that sole tab i was watching and nothing else playing youtube in the bg) so i closed that tab, waited a bit and re-measured but then see that the memory usage for youtube rose about 200MB... and the website for youtube is that same url for the tab that i just closed (when checking the src in the results for Measure). I've been revisiting the about:memory page, reloaded it and re-Measured and youtube is STILL THERE. Even now, 10 minutes later i still see youtube there, with none of my tabs running youtube.

If i close firefox entirely and re-open my tabs then it'll very likely fix it but this has to be a major issue no? I shouldn't have to close the entire browser program just to fix a website visit, which is youtube of all websites.

As of this moment, firefox, with 8 tabs open, is consuming 4,452.99MB (~4.5GB) where 2.5GB is youtube for that page i closed.

I don't know if sharing memory reports from the about:memory page give my cookies away or leave me open to a similar vulnerability so I won't share it unless a dev or similar asks for it but for now, I've included an image showing all the tabs i have open on firefox, 2 windows.

All of a sudden I am getting loads of SPAM emails and when I try to unsubscribe, I get a Secure Connection Failed error. I have marked them as SPAM but they just keep coming, daily.

Every time I close and reopen the browser (and then check the Process Manager), all my pinned tabs are there and taking 20-30 megabytes each while I didn't click on them and they're supposed to be unloaded after startup

None of the unpinned tabs are in the Process Manager

How do i stop this?

I'm changing computers. I want to upload my browser's bookmarks to a file. Then I can clear it for the next person to start from scratch. So far, I can't find a tab to make it happen. Please help. Thanks.

In version 146.0.1, or perhaps even earlier, I noticed that if you set a Primary Password to log in to the browser, you can reset it and log in simply by clicking the "Cancel" button. This allows you to access all of your user tabs and links. I hadn't noticed this before. It defeats the purpose of setting a Primary Password. I noticed similar issues in the Tor browser, but you can't set a Primary Password there at all, even though the feature is there, and it's built on the Fire Fox engine. Please fix this issue. No buttons should allow you to log in without entering the correct Primary Password.

Hi, Since three or four months, whenever I log into Outlook live, either on Mac or Windows PC, I get a security warning saying that the information will not be secure (Please see attachment.) When I log into the same account, from Edge for example, I do not get the warning popup. I really enjoy using Firefox and would love to continue but this case is worrying me a bit. Any idea to help? I would like my home page to be the ABC news site. However, the default seems to be Brisbane Qld. No matter how many times I change it to my location, which is Melbourne Vic. and then select "use current page" in settings, next time I turn on my PC, it's back to Brisbane. Is there a way to set my home page permanently to show my location (Melbourne Vi.) ? Regards, Manfred
