Some videos get an error: error code 224003.

This has happened for a long time as still exists. The Internet has some solution but None of the Work. They suggest to change in settings: For Firefox:

"Click the menu button on the top-right corner and select Options. Select “Options” in the Menu.

Select General panel and scroll down to Performance. ...
Uncheck ”Use recommended performance settings” and then uncheck “Use hardware acceleration when available”

Some other Browsers get the same errors.

I keep getting a message that my browser is not updated. I am using Firefox 95 on Windows 10. Both should be compatible. Two of the websites are Yahoo mail and Chase (bank). I have reset the default user agent as the article states (nothing needed to be changed): https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-reset-default-user-agent-firefox.

I also disabled all add-ons, but that did not help. Not sure what to do from here. This just recently started (maybe 2-3 months ago).

This issue has started to become a problem over the last couple of months. Several websites that I log into frequently are no longer working with Firefox, or are not fully working.

For example, I can't use Firefox for these websites at all. AA.com (gives me a screen that says it's down for maintenance) bankofamerica.com (it allows me to start the login process but when it attempts the 2FA it errors out. ATT.com (everything appears to work, except the chat feature. If I log into att using safari (for example) there is a chat box in the lower right corner. The chat box is not there when I use Firefox.

This is starting to become an issue (and is very annoying) to where I may have to change browsers either to Safari (eh) or Chrome (yuk).

Are some of my settings set wrong? Is there another fix? or......

Thank you Elliot ...

Just booted up a new laptop with Win11 and installed Firefox - had been working normally, but now I can't get back into the browser menu or anything else on that menu/url bar. On opening a new window, I can click and view the menu, but within a few seconds it vanishes, but the button remains highlighted as though it's still open, so I can't re-open it.

Hi....I'm fairly computer illiterate fyi....when it comes to problems and causes etc.

Out of nowhere yesterday, when I went into my yahoo email on my laptop (old Dell Inspirion 8 years old I think but works fine and takes a beating) a pop up bar at top of screen beneath task bar pops up and says that Firefox says this page is slowing down my browser and computer and gives me option to STOP it. Indeed...as soon as that message appears i can't do anything in my email....locks...freezes up. Other windows dragging at that moment. Once I close yahoo....rest slowly returns to normal. It's been 24 hours and I've shut it down, turned on again...ran my system mechanic as I do daily and Windows defender reports no issues. Yahoo email works fine on my phone....and this has never happened before.

      • Machine seemed to be running slow a few days ago and I googled about that (before Yahoo issue) and learned about the task manager and how Firefox may run a bunch of shit eat up your ram? Mine showed 10 of them running?? But today during yahoo warnings and freezes it had 4 running.

I took a screenshot of it after writing this but even the time it took to do that froze me up this time so bad I lost all the windows including this post and i shut it down. Powered back up 2 hours later and it started normally and restored my session ( I was shocked this post in progress was still here lol.) So I immediately closed yahoo window to avoid issues and tried to upload the screenshot below. But Firefox said the "image was too large"....really? I crop it down and try again and it's just spinning below for 5 minutes...so forget it. Now I can't post this with that image upload spinning endlessly. (put profanity of choice here)

Anyone have any insight or help before I solve it my way? (That's usually when i lose my patience and throw it against the wall. :)

We're just users, we don't want time consuming problems like these... Thanks for your help.

Hello, wondering if anyone else can replicate this problem or knows a solution, as its quite alarming that opening a web page should cause the whole system to immediately shut down.

The web page (tbf, advert heavy clickbait nonsense) concerned is:

https://www.lep.co.uk/health/coronavirus/dont-be-a-dick-warns-lancashire-county-council-as-controversial-new-poster-targets-unmasked-shoppers-3498413

Opening in troubleshoot mode seems ok, opening in Safari seems ok, but normal Firefox results in the shut down as page is loading.

Brief info:

Hi guys! I have a question.

After a clean system reinstall today, my firefox can't play videos on specific websites (I'm from hungary, so some sites may be strange for you guys), for example facebook (Sorry we're having trouble playing this video), coub (just buffering), indavideo, vimea (xml_004 error), dailymotion (browser not compatible). All of this sites are working properly on edge.

I read some fixes, tried all of it (disable hardvare acc. and extensions, etc.). I had once a similar problem, then deleting the cert9 file solved it, but now it is not.

If anyone has an idea or asks for more information, write under this post.

Hi all, first time poster,

Very frequent firefox crashes has rendered the program almost useless, seems to continue to get worse as well. Minimal plugins enabled. Crashes still occur in Troubleshoot mode. No third party modules. Have also played around with performance mode. All continues to happen, in fact happened on this tab as I was typing this. Below are my recent crash reports. Any assistance - or if I need to post additional info - is appreciated. Thanks!

I've done everything I can think of and advice to fix problems in FF for Windows 10 to solve problems, especially tabs crashing. I've gone through the diagnostic steps and submitted crash reports. I can't do my day job this way. I didn't have the various problems, crashing tabs, difficulty getting to HTTP sites (I can't help how someone has their site set up) when I was back at release 83, as I recall. I want to find a copy of release 83 to install. What I want to know is, Will I miss crucial items if I do this? Thanks.

Hello, everyone.

I am really struggling to find any info on my issue.

When I try to open any external links (for instance, from Telegram), I get the infamous error message regarding "running not responding" FF. I've read tons of answers on this but none help.

1) I'm NOT on Wayland. In fact, I am on Fedora 34 Server + X11 + lightdm + bspwm. 2) There is no "no-remote" option in my fedora startup script, nor in my ENV. about:support + search by word "remote" did not find me anything looking relevant. 3) Obviously, my FF is responding quite well. 4) Opening links from terminal emulator with --new-tab does not work either. 5) Adding "MOZ_DBUS_REMOTE" did not resolve the situation.

FF v.95.0.2, from @System Fedora repo.

Please, guide me on getting more info to resolve this issue. Or maybe somebody is familiar with it?

Thanks a whole lot in advance!

I think FF has developed a bug, not sure when the last update occurred, but every time they update "automatically", which I DETEST! I end up with all sorts of issues, this time, when the Primary Password box comes up, I enter my Primary Password, and YES, I DO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IT IS, but every time I start entering it, the PP Box comes up with NOT RESPONDING right after I enter the first letter, sometimes I'll get several characters in before it LOCKS UP with this error again. And if I'm lucky, I might get the entire Primary PW in, but then it just goes back to the damn PPW Pop-up box and wants it again. I have tried far too many times to access my FF account with my PPW, but it refuses it. Again, I KNOW WHAT IT IS, and it worked just fine the night before, but now today 12/24, FF is refusing to accept the PPW, and I KNOW it is correct, and I even typed it in slowly to make sure I was entering the correct sequence of characters.

I think there may have been some kind of update and now it's LOCKED ME OUT and I need to gain access to MY site passwords, as I have over a thousand plus pw's in there.

FireFox NEEDS desperately to have, AND GIVE USERS, an option to RESET this Primary Password, as I DID NOT CHANGE IT, I **KNOW** what it is, but I can't get FF to accept it! As of now{this writing}, and there is NO WAY to reset it WITHOUT LOSING ALL YOUR SITE PW's and that is totally F'N RIDICULOUS there is no way to reset this Primary WITHOUT losing all YOUR SAVED DATA, because you can't even gain access to that data to even SAVE IT if the PPW isn't working or got skewed by some f'n update THEY DID that I didn't want to happen!

They NEED A RESET for PRIMARY PASSWORDS so crap like this doesn't happen. And not only that, they SHOULD HAVE A REAL SUPPORT TEAM that THE USER CAN CALL AND SPEAK WITH, ONE WHO KNOWS the software when an issue like this comes up and HAVE A FIX FOR IT, so you DO NOT LOSE SAVED DATA or at least a way to SAVE that DATA if you have to do a MAJOR RESET of the software, as it is, it's very stupid, idiotic and dumb that none of this can be accomplished! I was hoping there was a PRIOR VERSION using that option in Win 7 to try and restore a previous version that WORKEWD and had all my info, but NOOOOOOO, they make darn sure you can't revert to a prior version THAT WAS WORKING and leave you stuck with a version that has don nothing but frustrate you because you've LOST ACCESS to everything.

I WILL NEVER< NOT EVER, use a Primary Password Again, not in the way it is currently set up because, again, it's STUPID, MORONIC, IDIOTIC, and DOWNRIGHT IGNORANT NOT to have some way to RESET this PPW WITHOUT losing everything in the browser!

And I ticked off over this, you're darn tootin' I am! I did nothing, NOT A THING to cause this issue, it all started on its own when I opened FF to use it and IT REFUSED MY Primary Password, that HAS NOT been changed, I **KNOW** what my PPW is, and it no longer works! And I didn't need it to log in here, as this site uses a different PW with an e-mail I use frequently and know its password for site access here.

At random intervals, for no apparent reason, my Firefox starts eating memory at a prodigious rate.

At some point, my computer slows to a crawl.

The only solution I have found is to kill Firefox, start again, and wait for the next instance.

The attached image shows what the resource use looks like while I have the barest minimum open in the browser.

I've been fighting this for a long time. I'd prefer not to go with the dark side browser. But my wife uses that browser and has no problems at all.

At some point, one must question whether supporting open source is really worth fighting with zero functionality.

Thanks.
