Is there a way to set a default zoom for the firefox pdf viewer? The Automatic zoom has no toggle, and all pages open up as HUGE and I have to manually choose the zoom %. This is tedious and takes up time as I open many documents a day.

I am an academic. I use Canvas. When I am in Canvas and I try to open a document in it from Firefox, what I get are solid black pages. I do not have this problem with Canvas in Chrome or in Edge. I really don't want to use those Browsers. I actually have this problem with every PDF I try to open from all sites. This is a recent problem. But if I cannot correct it, I will have to use other Browsers.

A msg box comes up that says go to setting to enable the ability to highligh pdf's. I went to settings and did not find. this box comes in the upper right hand corner. I am usually working in PAGES. jhelp if you can. Thank you.

Every time I try to view a pdf file on Firefox I can view the file but in the lower right 1/4 of the screen I get a graphic of a page with shaded areas representing lines with writing on them. There is a type of pen cursor moving along the line.

This happens with different pdfs - from the internet and from my saved files. This doesn't happen on another computer with Firefox.

I've deleted and redownloaded Firefox an number of times, also tried troubleshoot mode - no improvement. Virus scanned, restarted a number of times.

Pdfs work on edge and chrome and reader with no problem.

How do I get the PDF viewer to work again? For years I have used the setting "save" to automatically download. Now I am unable to view them without going in and changing the settings to "open in firefox". I would like to continue to use the save setting without having to constantly change this back and forth. When I click to open the file, all it does it grey out.

See the attached image. This showed up when viewing PDFs. The highlighter demo can not be removed or turned off. I uninstalled Firefox, reinstalled, still there. Uninstalled Acrobat, the demo is still there.

Recently, whenever I open saved (or sometimes new web) documents in Firefox, a very large pop-up on the lower right side of my screen appears with a cartoon of a pencil scanning a document. Below the cartoon it states "Now you can highlight your PDFs! With our new highlighter tool, you can read and edit PDFs in one place." The pop-up blocks half the view of the document and cannot be minimized or closed. It also prevents accessing (it hides) the "print" option if I want to print/save the page. I have WINDOWS 11 and have looked online for solutions to this problem which always produces the same suggestion: "go to 'settings', click 'privacy & security', check 'block pop-ups', click 'OK'", all of which I've done. I now limit my use of Firefox to streaming videos via amazon, and use Chrome or Edge for anything else I need to do, but I assume Firefox would not be happy to know of the aggravation their browser is causing, forcing users to go elsewhere (or am I the only person having this problem). Every time I open a file that is downloaded the box showing info on the highlight tool comes up and then I have to hover over it and hit escape............I do not want it to open at all so how do I stop it..............

Hi, when I work in Xero, the pdf documents will not open. Firefox is up to date and I have wiped all cookied and history. Is there anything else I need to do please?

So i reinstalled my graphics driver yesterday, and after that when i open a pdf on firefox it only shows blackscreen. it didnt happen on other browsers(chrome, edge)

When viewing a PDF, I selected some text, right clicked and chose the "Highlight Selection". The selected text was not highlighted. Instead, the "highlight" button on the top right corner pop up and the freehand highlight was triggered, while all my previous selection was lost.

I image this was not the intention of the "highlight selection", and I was also wondering if there is a shortcut for highlighting text in pdf.

I create and save files in OneDrive. When I open a file, it always opens in the Microsoft Edge Browser which is a problem for the old guy, me. I prefer that they open only in the documents folder as their specific kind of document; Word, PDF, and Excel spreadsheet files so that I can then move my files into various folders and sub-files. Hopefully, someone can figure out what I have said and help me. • I'm uncertain if the topic I chose accurately describes my question.

When I open a PDF in Firefox, a half-page notice opens, telling me I can highlight the PDF. This prevents me from doing absolutely everything. Cannot read the file, cannot print the file with the box in the way. How can I get rid of this box? Thanks for your time.
