Mozilla made an update of my Firefox installation on my Win11 laptop. all my password disappeared as well as my history and bookmarks.

I have now a virgin installation and is starting from scratch.

Now I get this error message: "This profile was last used with a newer version of this application. Please create a new profile." I deleted met shortcut and I opened Firefox by using Windows search. Now I see 4 profiles! I think I do not need to create a new profile. Maybe delete 3 of them ? What to do ? And, how?

My power just went out for a second, now Firefox its acting like I've never used it.

I've never had this problem. Firefox has worked just fine for years. I have never had an issue with FireFox. Now I'm being told to select a profile like there isn't a set of folders with files dating back to 2021 sitting next to these fresh new folders full of files all dated to today.—I don't know shit by the way, Google told me where the profile stuff is or something idk im pissed.

How do I get Firefox to recognize the same old mountain of files its been using to store bookmarks, passwords, and all the rest is right under its stupid nose? And no the about:profiles page just gives me another blank profile to choose.

opened firefox saturday and screen was totally different than what i had. guess it updated, but not returned to my profile. have tried to open my profile and succeeded, but can't get it to come on automatically when i open firefox again. how do i open the profile i want and then keep it opened?

You forced me to create a profile and I lost all my Bookmarks.

I have multiple profiles set up with the "old system" ( https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles ). Now, the new system is available for me, but I can't see an easy way to migrate my existing profiles into the new system.

Before i got the Profiles update that rolled out relatively recently, i created another firefox profile from the "about:profiles" page. I do not see this second profile in the new Profiles tab in the menu in my default profile. Is there a way to transfer the profile, maybe mess with the files and the folder of firefox, so i will be able to switch profiles from the Profiles tab, and not go through "about:profiles" every time? or just create a new profile and tell me how to transfer the data, where to find the existing one thanks.

No matter what I've tried, I cannot figure out a way to edit or delete the profile from the new profile manager. Both about:editprofile and about:deleteprofile show up as a blank page (with how it looks on my normal profile for comparison). I have tried deleting the folder multiple times, but the icon still shows up in the manager and clicking it just creates a new profile with the default settings. It also does not appear when using firefox.exe -p. I had previously been using the about:profiles to manage my profiles and wanted to see if I liked the new version (I didn't), hence why I was using it in the first place.) I'm currently using Firefox version 149.0 and Windows 11 on the latest version. I have found no solution that gets rid of it. I would also be fine getting rid of the profile manager UI so it stops bothering me.

Hello! I just installed F-Fox yesterday and want to delete Google Chrome. However, my husband and I both used Chrome and I would like to add him to Firefox, so his history, passwords, etc can be imported but I don't know how to add his profile to Firefox along with mine.

I have a problem with the browser automatically starting when I start my PC. I have this feature disabled (!) ("Open Firefox automatically when your computer starts up" turned OFF) Everything was fine, but then I started using the "profiles" feature - browser start's to open automatically when i start up my pc.

when I created a new profile (in addition to the main one). The problem appeared, and that was a long time ago (at least half of year ago it was already as now). I hoped that it would be fixed and didn't write to support. Windows and the browser itself have been updated several times since then - this did not help.

Changing the settings in different profiles, creating / deleting them, and other basic actions did not help. What happens is that the browser ALWAYS opens when I start the PC (Profile selection tab, i have turned ON "Select profile when Firefox start up")

I tried turn off \ delete all plugins, turn on\turn off almost every default setting, no effect. What should i do?

I did the CMD prompt -P and there is only Default showing.

You guys did an update that now makes me choose a profile every time I log in. WHY? Keep it simple. I tried to go into Profile and keep it simple. Can you tell me how to go back to reset the old way?

When I try to browse or download another copy, the error message "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible" appears.

How do I fix this?

I really don't need a profile in Firefox and if I delete the profiles listed, you will wipe out all my bookmarks/settings. Why do I need to see a yellow triangle on the Firefox app icon?

Firefox kept losing all of my saved bookmarks and passwords. Each time it updated everything would disappear. I went to the folders where the bookmarks and passwords are stored and the profiles were there but Firefox did not list them when I searched (about:profiles). Tried numerous times to move the files to the current folder but the program still could not see them. Tried copying, moving, changing names of files, etc. Finally uninstalled firefox and attempted a new installation but it will not even open because it says it can't find profiles even though there are profiles in the profile folder. Now what do I do?

Help! I updated my account to a new email months ago. I have been trying to set up a new different profile. Copying a profile or trying to add a profile adds the newly made profile to my old email address instead of my new email address. In the new profiles created, I am unable to login to my new email and password.

When I click on a link in outlook recently, I have been getting an seperate firefox pop up but it has none of my passwords. How do i set up to have all the info as the regular firefox browser I use.

Out of nowhere today I encountered with Firefox seemingly crashing. My laptop said it needed to reboot. Once rebooted I began to get the missing/inaccessible profile error. I tried to uninstall / reinstall but continue to get the error. When I search through for the missing profile per all guidance and troubleshooting Windows says it's not found. When I use the "run" it doesn't bring me to a folder but to a notepad type screen (copy paste below). I do not see where I have any options. Would it be effective to just delete all Mozilla from my laptop? I uninstalled / reinstalled but same error.

After closing Firefox, I often get a message for "creating a new profile". It seems difficult to do this and it would be very helpful to have a link where this can be easily done. Thanks for all your help. Alok Bhargava [edited email from community support forum]
