Hello there. Unfortunately, according to Netflix help pages, Firefox Linux is limited to 720p, unlike Windows or macOS version. Opera is the only linux browser allowed to stream Netflix at 1080p.

This is a Netflix side limitation because using a fake user-agent is a workaround.

I have reported this problem to Netflix, it appears to be a DRM limitation. My report to Netflix have been share with their tech team, but I doubt that leads to anywhere.

Question : why this limitation ? Is the Widewine codec implemented differently in linux version ? Is there a way to make Netflix change their rules from Firefox team ?

At the top of my settings it says: Information: Your browser is being managed by your organization.

What does this mean? It's my personal laptop, I bought it myself and I don't work for any organization.

For the last two years the issues with video stutter have been worse and worse for me. I don't know if it is because of a different codec the video is using, but if it was I would expect the fans to ramp up from trying to decode it. Instead, my laptop stays always silent, but the video laggs like crazy when I want to play it at native 1440p.

I cannot view or change the video codec, since the current issue happens on a platform (herohero.com) other than youtube.

I talk to friends on facebook/messenger. Previously my conversations were always on Firefox. But suddenly a couple of months ago I could no longer use my camera and my microphone on Firefox, and had to install a new browser. I have been trying several times to give Firefox permission to use my camera and my microphone, but sofar without success. What do I have to do?

I cannot get onto to Amazon website as I am getting an the following error:

Hello... currently when I try to open a PDF from the internet, I cannot open it in Firefox. Specifically I have been adding PDF files to a FB page, but cannot open the document when browsing in Firefox. I can open it, when using EDGE.

I've started having an issue in the last few days, with apparently two separate Firefox installs. A few days ago I was greeted by a fresh, blank install of Firefox and had to set everything up and sign in as I usually would on a fresh system install. Today, however, I somehow managed to launch both of them at once (I don't know how, as I just use the UI shortcut). After closing both fully, I can now only start the "old" one via the shortcut.

OS: Bluefin / Fedora 42.20, Gnome 48.6

According to the list of flatpaks, only one is installed. Unfortunately that's roughly where my knowledge of Linux ends, so I can't troubleshoot this further. Help will be apprecciated, as I don't want to roll a die on which of these will start up every time I reboot.

I have lost all of my bookmarks, bookmark tool bar after Firefox's last update. I have spent the last day trying to recover what has been lost but I am having no luck in getting everything back in place. I have tirelessly gone over all your possible remedies and get no results. I can't even send a message to Mozilla through their help messaging system. My only recourse appears to start using another web browser. If I can't talk to someone who can help guide me through a mess I did not cause, then I am forced to find another company that is responsive to my problems. I do not want to search from the address bar. The search bar is what I want to go to but invariably goes to the address bar. Is there an about:config setting to change this?

Will this fricking "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional" B.S. ever be fixed? Firefox didn't have this issue for years now for almost a year every time Firefox starts up on a cold boot I get this idiotic non-sense message!. I have to close the browser I JUST OPENED and reopen in. This error is pure B.S. as again cold boot, just launched there is NOTHING other than Firefox that might be accessing the various sql.db's...so if this message is to be believed Firefox is blocking Firefox from Firefox... FIX THIS!

Just what the headline reads, I have had zero problems before but with the new update my browser keeps slowing down and crashing on DuelingBook (a yugioh sim) even though it never did before. I havent tested other sites, but pokemon showdown works still so I wonder what the problem is.

I despise ai in every use and way with a passion. Now, it gets spammed everywhere on this browser, with no apparent way to disable and/or remove that filth. I don't want to see it, ever! Why is it even on by default??? I don't want "chatbots", "Ai assistants" or any of that shit at all.
