Latest update installed and lo and behold, once again Mozilla screwed it up. I now have one tab on the bottom of the page instead of many in a toolbar at the top of the page. Mozilla continues to ignore users' complaints about tab location preferences and other tab functionality and arbitrarily making decisions which for most people make no sense. This latest iteration of Firefox (89.0) is for me the last straw. I will no longer humor Mozilla by spending countless frustrating hours correcting your obvious lack of programming skills by attempting to return my browser to what it was prior to another faulty update. My patience has finally run out. Before I leave Mozilla and Firefox, one last comment. Because the Mozilla support forum relies on amateurs and volunteers to answer users questions, and since I have had trouble getting workable solutions to my problems, I tried to send feedback directly to Mozilla. That was a monumental task which I was not up to, obviously, which is why I'm here. Whatever good there is in Firefox is far out weighed by the lack of programming skills, beta testing, quality control, etc. prior to forcing out updates to it's users. Like many recent users I have decided to forego further use of the Firefox browser which is unreliable from a development team which does not seem to care. I am beginning to wonder if the continuing screw ups are being deliberately caused by embedded saboteurs from Google or Microsoft!

Hi,

I recently had to "refresh" Firefox after internet connectivity issues (Firefox would randomly be unable to connect to the internet for several minutes at a time, many times throughout the day). A refresh seemed to take care of that connectivity issue, but it did reset everything else. I'm having issues now where Firefox is automatically logging me out of accounts that I would normally be logged into all the time. Passwords don't autofill anymore when I attempt to re-login to this accounts (even though post-refresh I have opted for Firefox to remember them).

"Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" is currently UNchecked, and besides that, I haven't quit Firefox. I've put my computer (mac) to sleep several times but I don't quit firefox when I do this.

Any other ideas? I've used Firefox for years without a single issue but have had several things pop up over the course of the past month that are making it a bit inconvenient...

Thanks in advance-

jscher has been very helpful with my intense dislike of Version 89, but in the last few days, something changed here and I can't get back into that discussion.

I updated my upstairs PC to 89, then was absolutely horrified when I saw it. It's ugly. There is little to no differentiation between the different parts of the screen. My Bookmarks list had so much extra white space added that I had to scroll down three screens to see it all - it used to fit on one page.

You made the type smaller and the bubbles larger.

You changed the ENTIRE Options menu so it's now hard to find what I want, and some functions have been removed.

Also, your STOP POPUPS no longer works AT ALL. I am being inundated with them.

I was so angry at this terrible Facebook-like new version that I deleted FF completely, ran CCleaner and re-loaded Version 88. Of course I lost all my favorites while doing this. When I went back upstairs a few hours later, the update was re-done WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. Very sneaky.

I found out how to shut off all the Proton stuff, so I can now use FF upstairs. I see tons of "fixes" using CSS stuff, which I am not comfortable using. A browser should make these options EASY!

You say this is a "new, clean look." You didn't take into consideration that many users like the way it looked before, and don't want to re-learn an entire new program. Please add back in choices for those of us who are not IT geek coders and just need a simple, FUNCTIONING browser.

Hey all,

After recent update i noticed that amazon, news.google, gmail, olx and other websites, facing issues with the sites loading completely, it looks like the mobile version is loading, or some issues with website being loaded completely. I don't see any issue with opening those websites on chrome. Gmail is going crazy though, have to load it twice, sometimes i cannot send mails, keeping showing error.

Everyday i use firefox, but never faced any issues till date, this only after the last update, which is the dark theme as such. Any fix please?

I have noticed that when I manually log in into accounts.google.com with no prior cookies in the browser and no association with a google account prior to that, it automatically logs me into sites like youtube.com, even with the strictest cookie policies (tried with Strict, custom+cross-site and custom+third-party). I do not particularly mind privacy wise since I'll log into them with the same account anyways, but as far as I understood, there should be absolutely no way this should happen. Cookies should be isolated by domain, I have uBlock Origin installed which prevents cookie sharing between domains by setting some CNAME records in subdomains (Uncloak canonical names), and afaik Firefox does not automatically read the google account cookies and share them around - if it did, that would be even more serious. So what is happening here and how can I change that? This seems to be a serious issue that I'm honestly not comfortable with out of principle since I chose the strictest settings.

I don't now what happened but my tab bar has a different look to it now. Possible a Firefox update changed the look of my tab bar, but nonetheless, it is now harder to see the tab bar. It seems to have a more transparency look to it making it harder to see the tabs. How do I change the tab bar look to what it used to look like, which was easier to see? Can someone help? Thank you.

Hi everyone!

When I browse the web with Firefox, it happens that the system becomes completely unresponsive. Some web pages seems to make Firefox using a lot of RAM and write a lot on the hard drive. I cannot actually say much more, because it not even possible to login in a console. The system is too slow and the console login times out... Firefox (or Web Content) writes wildly on the hard drive.

I used the Firefox provided by my Linux distribution (Linux Mint), but also the one downloaded from mozilla.org. The problem seems to be less frequent for the second, but it happend nevertheless.

The point is that this problem with Firefox happens sometimes, for example, when I forget the browser open on somehow demanding webpage (like in newspapers where there are a lot of media, graphics, and so on).

A point is also that I cannot replicate this "bug". If now I browsed the same pages that made the mess, nothing would probably happen.

I thought it had to do with the swap, but the system hanged both when the swap space was enabled and when it was disabled.

I saved a copy of the profile (and the cache) after the last crash, if they could be useful. The last time I had actually to force the shutdown of the computer, because there was no way to regain control over it.

Any ideas?

Thank you for your answers!

Hi,

I would like to create a pop-up blocker exception for a local temporary file like: file:///C:/Users/username/AppData/Local/Temp/DisplayURLs3227552811823012098.html

My firewall management tool generates a local report file, automatically opened by Firefox, but I can't add an exception like: "file:///C:" or "file:///C:/Users/username/AppData/Local/Temp/*"; it just does not work.

Thanks, Tom

I recently updated to Firefox 89.0. I like the new look and feel, but ever since updating, I no longer see the little red notification emblem on the tab in Firefox when I have unread messages.

I've attached an image showing the tab in Firefox 89.0 (Left side) and the same Discord session in Firefox 88.0.1 (Right side). In Firefox 88.0.1, the notification emblem shows on the tab, but in FF 89.0, it doesn't.

Does anyone know if this is this a bug or some kind of option that I can change in FF 89.0?

Thanks for any help or advice anyone has to offer!

The previous version of firefox would show which tab was making noise with a little megaphone symbol. But the June 2021 update changed that function so the symbol only appears when you hover the pointer over the tab. Not very convenient or useful. I was wondering if there was a setting or add on that would restore the previous noisy tab identification function.

Hello,

I'm using Firefox 89.0 (64 Bit) and I was wondering if it is possible to disable the shortcuts or hot keys. I use Azure Devops to create test cases. The test case editior uses shortcuts like CTRL + B to make text bold. But this interferes with the Firefox shortkeys. Currently the only way for me to format text in Azure Devops is to use the mouse which is very unconvenient.

I've been reading for an hour now so please don't be offended . I know you are volunteers and thank God for you. However I would just like to say a few choice things to the CEO at Mozilla. Dear Sir/mam or under todays circumstances it could possibly be Dear Trans, I would like to offer a suggestion because FireFox is catching up to the worlds most inefficient company Microsoft crap. Windows has more errors than it does users world wide and the programmers at Mozilla must have been previous Microsh-t employees. Our time is just as important as yours sir-mam-trans? I have followed every instruction to the finest detail except some of the details you say to use are non existent trying to set gmail as my mailto default . The last and final straw that wasted more of my valuable time was this set of instructions I want you to follow these yourself. The hamburger Icon isn't at the end of the address bar like it says it is so I googled where is it and got the following. "hamburger icon | Firefox Support Forum | Mozilla Support https://support.mozilla.org › en-US › questions 29 Jan 2018 — You can also get to the Firefox menu by clicking on 'Tools' on the menu bar : Press the Alt key on your keyboard and in the upper left corner ..."

Another bunch of my time wasted you cannot access anything that will help set gmail as the default going through tools. I'm being far more polite than I would be if I was standing in your office. Hey give me a job where I can get paid for not producing anything of value I'm sure you can squeeze one non family member in can't you? I have terminal cancer and not much time left here on this demonic earth thank God I'm going home soon. But until I do I would like the time I have left to be productive and would like to request that you fire all the incompetent family ,members they must be because your just as incompetent for paying a fertilizer spreader to write computer help articles.
Sorry to all you volunteers if any one can tell me how to do this I would greatly appreciate it and I meant everything and more that I said and hope someone sends it to the damn fool. These big corporations get filthy rich bribing politicians for tax breaks blah blah blah and you know as well as I do no business would be in business long making just half the mistakes they do unless you got the same perks . Have a wonderful day and blessings to all you volunteers and everyone that you love.Sincerely ARICHARDHEAD (Kyle Jennings)

Hi there,

I've been a fan of the multi-container feature for quite some time, and I enjoyed it most of the time. The only thing that annoys me, however, is that eveytime after I've removed some default container named in Chinese(I'm a Chinese and my Firefox UI is in Chinese as well), Firefox always added those same container back! Everytime! I just want to keep the containers that I've named in English and nothing else, and yet Firefox doesn't seem to understand that. It seems Firefox thinks I, as a Chinese, would definitely want those containers named in Chinese, which I don't. Hope you understand, and someone from the dev team can help fix this, because other than this specific issue, I don't have any complaint about Firefox, which is just a great browser and is keeping get better and better!

Thanks and have a great day.
