Firefox ESR 115.3.0

When watching streams in firefox, I noticed that overall iGPU load is very high, up to 70%, a lot higher than watching 1080p movie with dedicated player.

I found that the firefox actually only shares 10~20 iGPU load, the rest are from DWM, which load is up to 40% sometimes.

Also found if I switch from the tab with streaming page to another normal webpage, DWM immediately drops its usage to about 2%, firefox still uses some load as it's still decoding. DWM usage rises if I switch back.

I tried force firefox to use nvidia dGPU, firefox does use nvidia card to decode, but the DWM problem said above still apply.

115.3.1 esr automatically downloaded and installed and it disfigured 102.5.0 to the point that there was not an address bar, menu bar and only part of the tabs because I am using userChrome.css that I have used for years - is there a fix?

When I click on Help and then About Firefox I see the message 'Checking for updates' and then I get 'Failed to check for updates'

I have manually installed FF 115.2.1 and know 115.3.0 is available. Using Win10 and FireFox is on a portable USB stick

Been perfect for years. However, recently (2/3 months) when attempting to make a purchase online using my normal bank debit card, I am sometimes asked for verification. On entering the "Correct" details and the "Correct" PIN sent to me by my bank, the verification will not work. I have had several long conversations with my bank who have established nothing is wrong either with my banking or their system. Their investigation shows the problem lies with my browser ie. "Firefox". This is causing me untold misery and prevents me purchasing online with my bank. I have no idea how to find the issue or certainly how to fix it. Otherwise my pc is working just fine. Windows 10. I really hope you can throw some light on this. I suspect it has occurred since a Firefox update was installed!!!! William Burns

Dear all, we have lot of cases reported from Firefox users around the world. Users reported that the menu of the Firefox changing to default ---- installed version.

This feature https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/use-firefox-another-language simply not working on current stable and beta Firefox.

When the window with languages is closed it immediately forget every languages except default.

Workaround is install language version that user would use, but this is not easy way id we need to create all language package version in our global company.

I do know know if you even understand what i am trying to say here but ill try my best lets say i am in Facebook on Firefox and i am typing something. Sometimes when i an typing a pink bar comes up at the bottom left of the screen? not sure if it Firefox or windows but sem to come up only in Firefox. Recently comes up a lot

Just recently I was able to click on a notification and it would add a tab to Firefox and go to the URL in the popup. For some reason it stopped working. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I have observed this bug only in Disqus, but another Disqus user has seen it in other web sites viewed via Firefox, so maybe you could check your logic. Here is the original bug:

When entering a Disqus comment [or possibly other text boxes] and using the Enter key to end the first paragraph, the text typed so far is erased. It can be recovered by immediately pressing Ctrl+Z (Undo), but this is not obvious; most users will think they just lost that text, and will retype it. This was sporadic for a year or two, but right now (morning of 10/2/2023) it seems to happen on every comment I type. In the past, it only occurred on the FIRST Enter key, at least if I recovered via Undo. The only contact I have with Disqus is in the comments on an episode of the Kevin and Kell webcomic (https://kevinandkell.com). I am running Windows 10 on a Bootcamp'ed Mac, and my browser is the latest version of Mozilla Firefox.

That is a common problem unique to Firefox. When you hit enter and the post erases, right click in the box and click on "Undo" to get the text back, then you can do what you need to do whether is type more words, or post the comment.

Could this be an interaction between Firefox and Disqus? I have not personally seen this on any other website via Firefox, but FreedomFighter apparently has seen it elsewhere.

So I have a video playing on firefox, but the moment it drops from the foreground, it immediately pauses the video (the actual video playback). The audio continues, but the video stops until it is back in the foreground, at which point the video continues where it ought to. I have tried disabling the unload tabs in the config menu as well as disable the foreground pausing or whatever its called, as recommended by previous posts. I used to not have this issue at all, so I'm not sure what changed. Please help! Thank you.

Version 118.0 Seit heute Morgen kann ich Firefox nicht mehr normal starten. Nur als Admin, es werden aber keine Webseiten mehr angezeigt und wenn ich in die Adresszeile etwas eingebe passiert nichts. Ich habe den Browser deinstalliert und neu installiert, ohne Erfolg. Dann habe ich die Unser Datei gelöscht, ohne Erfolg. Die Firewall blockiert nicht und den Virenschutz habe ich deaktiviert, ohne Erfolg. Beides ist das original Win10 Werkzeug. Wenn ich about:support eingebe passiert nichts, kann das Menu aber über den Link öffnen

When I click a link in a Gmail msg, it opens in the same tab as Gmail. The default for Firefox is supposed to open a link in a new tab. I don't want to lose the open Gmail tab when I open the link. How can I change the behavior so the link opens in a new tab?

I want to use my 'esmail.hematdoost@gmail.com' instead of current 'hematdoostemail@gmail.com' on my firefox account, but it says that this account has already been confirmed by another user and it has a data breach, apparently on linkedin. I do not understand. both emails belong to me but I cannot use it as secondary email on my firefox!?

But apparently I'm not using it correctly.

When I close a tab, it defaults to the tab on the right, which, to me, IMO, is counter intuitive.

And just as bad, when I restart the browser, it opens to the tab on the right much of the time, instead of the current active tab.

Is there something I can do can do about this?

After upgrade to Firefox ESR 115.3, receive pop-ups of "Alert - Please authenticate to the token "ActivID ActiveClient 1". How to do so depends on the token (for example, using a fingerprint reader or entering a code with a keypad)." Firefox ESR 115.3 is installed on Windows 10 (22H2). ActiveClient 7.1.0 is used with SCR33x USB Smart Card Reader and US Government issued CAC (Smartcard) for authentication to different web sites. Some authentication actions complete by merely clicking OK on the pop-up alert. However, at least one web site (a tenable.sc site using authentication integrated with Active Directory) fails to authenticate and displays a Sign In requesting Username and Password. The only way to complete login (passwords are not permitted and smartcard authentication is required): In Privacy & Security > Certificate Manager > Authentications Decisions + delete the listing of the host name for the tenable.sc server. Close Firefox browser. Open Firefox browser and select the tenable.sc web site (it is an internal URL). Acknowledge the pop-up. A dialog box is displayed to select the certificate from the Smartcard. Authentication is successful and site is usable for that session; however, after browser is closed, inability to authenticate with SmartCard with future sessions unless the host name is deleted from the the Authentication Decisions. The SmartCard Reader is loaded in Privacy & Security Device Manager as ActivCard7.1 using the acpkcs211.dll from HID Global. Prior to upgrade to Firefox ESR 115.3 (from ESR 102.15); the pop-up did not appear for any of the CAC enabled web sites and login to the tenable.sc server correctly used to the smartcard certificate without requiring deletion of the hostname from authentication decisions.

Updated to FF118 last night. Win 10.

Previously I started FF with -no-delevate to allow dragging of URLs to the desktop. In FF118, this switch no longer works.

Any solutions?

I've built up an extensive library of very important bookmarks in firefox. Last week, I needed to clean my computer and deleted not the bookmarks, but the "downloads" folder of random PDF's and other documents. Now, my bookmarks are all gone and I've taken all the mozilla steps to recover them to no success. I can't even find any browsing history to revisit the sites and create a new bookmark list. Is there a way to access my previous history and bookmarks?
