Some of my bookmarks are gone AGAIN. This time adding .old to files and deleting others did not fix the problem, nor has restarting firefox. I can see that sites have blue stars, indicating that they are saved into bookmarks (such as "weather") that I can no longer see in my bookmarks menu. Trying to recover bookmarks does not work. I can see recent dates of bookmarks. I can see old firefox data on my desktop.

Bookmarks are a basic function of browsers. This is RIDICULOUS. Please fix this issue.

I have not had ANY UPDATES to my computer since yesterday. Yesterday all my bookmarks were there!

First, I am technologically illiterate, so my terminology will be imperfect. Until today, there was a second line in my Google browser that listed my favorite sites I visited daily. It was just below the Google Tab line (the very top line). That line is now gone and now I have to look up the web addresses in my bookmark thing off to the right. How can I get that favorite sites line thingy back?

Been trying to retrieved misplaced bookmark folders not bookmarks themselves in the Bookmarks Library with no success even going down several sub-levels; Would be nice if there were a search function, but will take a step-by-step solution. Thanks!

I asked this same question yesterday and a little while later, the horizontal bookmarks toolbar "magically" appeared. Now the toolbar is gone again. How can I find it and get it to stay at the top of my page? (I'm an 80-year-old granny/computer-dummy.) Thanks in advance for any help.

This is unbelievable ! I posted this again in response to somebody not being able to comprehend, "Bookmark Spacing Vertical Intervals Not Optimized". What the Hell else do I need to add to clarify that ? You don't want, can't or refuse to answer -- I get that. But DO NOT rope-a-dope me be typing it's not clear or you don't comprehend what, Bookmark Spacing Vertical Intervals Not Optimized means. It is a clear, concise description of an IT problem. I have zero clue how to describe it any other way. This is flabbergasting -- it is a well-known problem but all the solutions offered I have seen are garbage. Am wasting huge amounts of time and money, neighbor ! I can't submit a bill for all this runaround !

I am getting the following error message when using Firefox. The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. Some security software can cause this problem. I cannot see my bookmarks or add new ones. I followed the directions in articles about this problem and they did not. help. I decided to uninstall Firefox and l re-installed it from scratch and i still get the same error message.

After exporting bookmarks.html from Ffox on old computer, importing it to Ffox on the new one, all good, except that bookmarks toolbar shows on the imported list but doesn't display as toolbar.

i WAS BROWSING AND GOING THROUGH SOME OF MY FIREFOX FAVORITES AND I highlighted a FEW (NOT JUST ONE!) and clicked the delete button on accident. Is there any way of getting them back? I havent backed up a copy of them recently eitherr. Now Im all bumbed out!! :-(

I have created a number of folders for bookmarks and clicking on the folder used to produce a long list for each. Now, possibly since the latest update, the list is abbreviated and doesn't show bookmarks that, if I open in a tab and click "edit", are shown as being in the folder. The only forum article I have seen on the topic seems far too complicated for me to understand.
