I haven't figured out how to get Firefox to fill in Verification Codes when logging into web sites that require such.

Can you provide steps to this feature?

Hello! My computer is Win 7 (my system info; the same with greater detail). I've been relying on Waterfox (mainly to download videos; it's not the browser I use regularly) for years, and it has never given a problem, far as web access. I have not updated the browser, main reason being my downloading add-on (which happens to be the popular "Video DownloadHelper") behaves in a less preferred way in my other browsers. (I fear an update would put the kibosh on the better way that program functions in Waterfox.)

Suddenly Waterfox has become moody (I don't know if BB code is going to work here, but the following image is a scrrenshot of "Hmm. We're having trouble finding that site." If not showing below, the direct link.):

I am hoping the ones reading may have suggestions for me to get my Waterfox back.

I did install a VPN recently, but I don't think that's an issue. Another point of consideration: Waterfox can access the internet in Safe Mode.

I consulted this handy-dandy page before bothering you:

7 Fixes to Try When Waterfox Is Not Loading Webpages on Windows

1) Weak internet connection. (Nope.) 2) Corruption in Waterfox installation files. (This possibility seems remote. After all, it was working well until now. ) 3) Malicious extensions (I have tried disabling all extensions, and there aren't that many.) 4) Webpages will also fail to load if there's something wrong with the browser's code. (This "code," whatever that is. was working fine for all this time. A quick look-see led to this meaning of "code": "..Code is made from C++ and C. Also javascript, pyhton, ruby, and many other languages." That seems to be a long shot.)

Their recommendations (leaving out the ones that are not relevant):

2) Update Waterfox. (I'm trying to avoid that. Of course, this might be the solution; however, It's not as though my version is that old and would have stopped working. Of course... who knows.)

4) Check Your DNS (Sounds like a lot of trouble; I don't think this will make a difference, as other browsers present no problem, and WF works in Safe Mode.)

5) Clear Waterfox Cache and Cookies (I did that.)

6)  Remove Unwanted Extensions  (I did that, by disabling the toggles, as suggested.)

7) Reset Waterfox.

That might be the last resort, and I have the feeling a reset is not going to do the trick. Doing this will get rid of the video downloading extension I'm trying to preserve, and instead I'm hoping one or more experts might come up with another suggestion that will work.

As an additional point, under Waterfox's "Options" > "Network Settings" > "Settings," where the default choice under "Configure Proxy Access to the Internet" is "Use system proxy settings," I fooled around by checking the first two, "No proxy" and "Auto-detect proxy settings for this network," and neither selection did anything. I could not try the remaining choice, "Manual proxy configuration," because I have no idea what figures or numbers to place for that one. It's really odd Waterfox suddenly stopped working; it was so reliable.

Seems like the newest Firefox update (131.0) changed the way my Home Page (on the new tab) looks. WHY??

Now there's a giant logo taking up a fifth of the vertical space, forcing me to scroll to see my shortcut icons. WHY????

Oh, and the shortcut icons are now spaced farther apart and are significantly smaller. WHY????????

I set browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.logowordmark.alwaysVisible to false but the logo is still present.

Please revert these changes. Or, if someone could provide me with some tips on how to edit the userchrome.css or whatever, that would be great.

As you can see from the screenshot i provided and as you can read from subject of this very annoying issue Firefox new 130 update has changed my URL bar and now stuff are missing to the point that links to Outlook and some other stuff that were in address bar URL because i wanted them there and now they place has been taken by namely foxovizija.blogspot.com and watchonlyfoolsandhorses.com and ajax.nl/shop just because i watched few episodes of fools and horses on that link same goes for foxovizija and browsed some items in ajax fan shop! I WANT DOES LINK GONE FROM MY URL so i can put links that i want to be in there and FF 130 address bar being populated by only the links i want to be there and stay that way! and one more thing i want to get rid of that ugly search with google thing because i don't even use google,further more once all of a sudden in FF 130 MY BROWSER IS MANAGED BY MY ORGANIZATION ? That was never there before this update ,so with all that has been said and screenshot as proof i beg you and plea on your kindness and knowledge to give me guidance how to fix this URL thing first,then how to remove THIS BROWSER IS MANAGED BY YOUR ORGANIZATION and last but not least how to block further FF updates because every new update is worse then the next and just keep pushing the whole browser down the drain ! Firefox 132.0.1 (64-bit); Fedora-40; Gnome. I just added the "authenticator" extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/auth-helper/?utm_source=addons.mozilla.org&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=search). I would like its icon to appear in the toolbar, along with those for NoScript, Simple Translate, and others. I tried following the instructions on this page: "https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/extensions-button". But clicking the "gear" icon in the toolbar brings up a list of all installed extensions, and there is no "gear" icon next to any of them.

How do I add the "authenticator" extension's icon to my toolbar where the other extension icons are?

I updated my desktop browser today and now there is an expandable sidebar at the left margin of the window showing tool icons for Tabs from other devices, History and Customize sidebar. I can see how to remove tool icons and how to expand or collapse sidebar but can I remove the sidebar completely? Is this an option? I prefer the old look with the browser web page content extending all the way to the left of the screen, without the narrow vertical sidebar.

A sidebar has appeared out of nowhere. I removed all extension on that sidebar and it still doesn't go away. I already have a bookmark bar and extensions at the top bar. I don't want another sidebar at every firefox window. How do I remove the sidebar, please.

Well looks like they did it to us again. My tabs are back on top again and need to put them below where I am a lot of other users like our tabs!

Update: Codes working fine now for 133.0

I updated to version 133 today and was confronted with the vertical tab bar. I did not ask for this or want it, and now I can't get rid of the side bar, in fact I seem to have just made it worse / wider. How can I get rid of this (and block it) It is just taling up space on my screen. Please help.

I prefer the tabs be below the bookmark bar, and successfully modified the CSS file to do this some time back. Now update 133 has once again pushed them up below the menu bar. What do I have to do to get them back where I want them this time? And why can't you just leave the tab location preference alone when doing updates?

How do I turn this odd feature that dims FF bars when window loses focus? As of look of it only tabbar and toolbar are affected. I couldn't find anything relevant under "about:config". Also some tricks with CSS didn't work for me, maybe because I have custom chromeCSS that brings tabbar under bookmarksbar and applies other customization so that FF window looks like old good FF before they started to put everything on a single line in the bar. Thanks in advance.

I know I can hide the sidebar by clicking the button on the toolbar. But I'm used to opening my bookmarks and history with ctrl+b and ctrl+h, and being able to close them the same way. This still works to close the actual bookmarks/history, but the sidebar doesn't return to being hidden (despite being hidden before I opened them), it hangs around taking up space on the left of my screen. Even after I removed everything so it's just a useless blank rectangle with "customise sidebar" at the bottom, it defaults to staying open unless I click the button. It's really annoying. Is there any way to make it hide itself again automatically once I'm done using it?

Out of nowhere I got the sidebar today. An absolutely useless feature that I surely did not ask for. And there is no way of closing or removing it. Please provide a guide, to removing or hiding it PERMANENTLY!

Currently, and for some reason there seems to have been a change that's occurred because my browser seems to think I'm out of the country (USA) as my searches return "We don't ship out of the country." How do I tell my browsers that I'm in the USA?

What has happened to the "More actions" menu button - the one that normally is in the upper left corner of windows (see the attached image)?

I have just installed a new PC, with Debian 12 and KDE (plasma 5.27.5); the other windows have this menu button, but not Firefox and Thunderbird. Is there a way to get it back, eg by moving the menu bar out of the title bar and back to where it used to be?

The Support forum is full with people having this problem and it seems no one at Mozilla can even b.u.t.t in with something like "we are working on it" or "here is how you can fix it yourself, also for none nerds" or anything?? Hello Mozilla, are you still alive or should we move on to a browser that does not malfunction on such an important issue as copy and paste? Can someone please tell me how to disable the new Sidebar? It is interrupting all of my workflow on the screen and it is frustrating with all of the choice and customization options in Firefox, that there would be no way to disable it.

Today when I launched the browser, a sidebar appeared. No matter what I tried, I can't remove it, it really gets in the way, I searched for information all over the Internet, but I still couldn't find any information. How can I remove the sidebar?
