Running 98.02, Windows 10. Firefox keeps opening without all my tabs and other personalized information. Just a single tab or maybe 2 that have nothing to do with me. If I go to about:profiles, one of the profiles listed will (so far) have my lost information. When I recovered the first time, I quickly created a profile if the current, good configuration. However, now when the problem recurs and I go back to that profile I created, Firefox is once again a single tab of a URL I've never seen. I'm afraid I will lose everything!

BTW the first symptom was that when I clicked on a link in email (Outlook 2021), the link opened in a new Firefox window, not a new tab of the current window. This, despite telling Firefox not to do that in Settings and checking about:configuration to make sure it would not occur.

As of today, Feb 7th 2022, when I reload pages that have an email input box (to "sign up"), the page jumps down to where it can display that box as the last line displayed (which might be at the very bottom of the page). This happens on every page that has an email i/p box, but does not happen on any that do NOT have that box.

Furthermore, if that i/p box is about halfway down the page, and I have scrolled below it, then upon reloading the page it will scroll up so that the i/p box is the very first line displayed.

The i/p box is always filled with my email addy, and I don't mind if it is not (but I can't stop it from putting it in)

Restarting the browser did not change anything.

FWIW, I do not have caret browsing activated.

The custom screenshot select tool (the tool which lets you select custom area of the screenshot) only captures a part of that selected are. This is quite an inconvenience. I am on Mozilla Firefox 99.0.1 for Windows x64 system. I have added the screenshots.

Posted an Imgur link as Mozilla's website is seemingly stuck at uploading images.

Hi, so I noticed that the "WebGL Renderer String", which Firefox returns upon request, seems to be quite imprecise in some cases.

My desktop machine has a Nvidia Geforce GTX 650 Ti built into it.

Google Chrome for example returns the exact and correct renderer string: "ANGLE (NVIDIA, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Direct3D11 vs_5_0 ps_5_0, D3D11-27.21.14.5671)"

Firefox instead seems to assign and return a more simple, generic renderer string, in my case: "ANGLE (NVIDIA, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 Direct3D11 vs_5_0 ps_5_0)"

This is of course a great feature in terms of privacy ("browser-fingerprinting"). Nonetheless I didn't find any information about the rules which are applied, before such a more generic renderer string is being returned by Firefox. It would be cool if someone could share an insight with me!

Best regards

I recently installed a theme that I really like, but the search bar by default is a blinding white color and it contrasts heavily with the dark blue colors in the theme I picked.

Is there a way for me to edit the background color and text color of the search bar to be a different color? I've tried looking at different solutions and most of them make reference to userchrome or something else I have absolutely no idea how to work. Can someone explain to me, in the most simple and hard to get wrong terms as humanly possible, how to change the background and text color in the search bar? Is this something I edit the theme itself for? How do I do that?

Thanks in advance. Attached image shows the part of the browser I'm talking about if it somehow wasn't clear enough. I'd like to turn the white color into, say, dark blue or gray, and change the text color to a light blue or white.

There is a specific challenge that i am facing with Firefox and some of the solutions that i have tried is not helping me to resolve the issue.

What's the issue: There are double spaces issue in Firefox

Where is it : 1) Menu 1.1) It's in the Menu New Tab is seen to me as New Tab (more spaces are for demonstration only) 1.2) All the Menu items which have space are show with more then one space including

1.2.1) File Menu -> New Window (and all the drop down menus with spaces)
1.2.2) Edit Menu -> Select All (and all the drop down menus with spaces)
1.2.3) View-> Page Style (and all the drop down menus with spaces)
1.2.4) All the rest of the menus where ever there is a space there is a double space

2) URL : I type something in the URL and they are double spaced "this is test" will look like "this is test"

THIS URL looks to be double spaced on firefox https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1338204?page=2
   like below

3) Numbers in the browser :

Any number displayed is double spaced in the browser output (most of the times, most of the web pages)

4) Bookmarks : All bookmarks are double spaced

5) Settings:

Settings: I have tried some suggestions below and they did not work for me.

browser.proton.contextmenus.enabled browser.proton.contextmenus.enabled is still set to false but seems to have no effect toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets=true browser.proton.contextmenus.enabled=false

Every time I close Firefox, whether normally or using Allt-F4, there is a short pause (1 - 2 seconds) then around 20 - 30 seconds of intense disk activity which locks everything else on my PC (Win 10 pro 64). If I hard shut down the pc (ie, switch off the power) there is no adverse effect on firefox after restart, so whatever it's doing is apparently unnecessary anyway. How do I cure this, it's irritating me intensely - enough to seriously consider using another browser
