Have been running Firefox on iMac with no problem till today - suddenly quit responding & won't open. Called Applecare. Uninstalled and tried to reinstall from your website. Won't download. Found an update of Firefox 27.0 that I had apparently downloaded and updated on Feb 8. When I try to open that, i get a window that says it's running a compatability check for add-ons with this version. There it gets stuck and never finishes running the check. I don't know what add-ons are, where they came from or where to find them to delete. I can't get into your support.mozilla.org website from my iMac using Safari. Had to resort to my PC laptop from work which has Firefox on it too (which is working fine) to submit this.

I am curious as to whether or not Firefox (including any third party extensions) would be harmed if Firefox either crashed or stopped responding. I am using version 27.x of Firefox on Windows 8 with the Windows 8.1 update installed. I am using two extensions, which are Adblock Plus and WOT.

Yahoo mail opens - inbox is displayed with messages itemized as normal. When I click on a message, the screen goes to the background - no message is displayed. Has worked fine until this afternoon. Using Yahoo mail. Works fine in internet explorer. Clicking on the gear in the upper right returns screen to list of inbox emails. Compose does not work. Other websites seem to work normally using firefox. Tried uninstall and reinstall with no success. Operating system - XP.

All the sudden FF zooms in on certain websites, making the images blurry. Plus I do some web design and it really makes things confusing. Why did this all the sudden start doing this? I notice it a lot with wordpress and now Shopify. How can I stop it, it's so annoying.

So I think I might have deleted the security.enable_ssl3 and security.enable_tls by accident. Now I have problems opening websites. I went to about:config and typed in serurity.enable and nothing showes. I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox but I still have the same proble. how can I fix it?

\weaver\addonsreconciler.json inflates up to 500+ MB every few months. Even when I delete it it becomes a few MB size in a few days. Could it be caused by a large amount of installed/enabled addons? Is there any possibility not to create this file?

Used to work but does not now. not sure what might have changed to cause the problem other than installing a new Firefox version. works fine in IE so firefox must be the problem.

I don't have many taps oppened only 47 taps. My firefox now usiing 2GB ram, can anyone help me how to fix it? Thank you

This time the plug in update was for Adobe Reader but I have seen it with other updates as well. I noticed this behavior in my computer after microsoft switched to outlool.com. From that point on I started to get registry changes any time I opened microsoft explorer. That was the reason why I switched to firefox. My registry now stays unchanged any time I open Firefox but it continues to be occasional a problem when I run updates. Normally I check my registry before and after running the update. I contacted and complained to microsoft but I never got a satisfactory answer. My computer run on windows XP.

Every time I launch Firefox, a black bar appears at the bottom of my screen saying, "Sync encounteted an error". (See screenshot.) Clicking on "Sync now" makes it go away for a few minutes, but it comes back. What does it mean? What is "sync"? How can I stop it?

P.S. The entire error message (on the screenshot below) is "Sync encounteted an error while syncing. Unknown error. Sync will automatically retry this action." Then there's a button labelled "Sync Now".

Is using 'browser defender' toolbar from pctools safe for Firefox / Chrome / i explorer? I am using Windows 7 Thank you

I am a Realtor and need to upload PDF files to the website www.dotloop.com. This site only allows uploads of PDF files. When I attempt to upload a PDF the website returns an error message that says "You Can Only Upload PDF Files". When I call the website support they say it is a problem with Firefox mis-identifying the file type to the website. I attempted to unistall firefox and reinstall (suggested by .dotloop support) but this did not fix the problem. Is there a setting or some update to fix this?

I can't find my browser unless it's fullscreen. Maximize takes it to full screen size and I can't find an edge to drag smaller. Size gives me a 4-way arrow cursor which won't allow me to draw a rectangle or drop a window. WTH am I missing?

I've had this problem for about 5 days, it may have happened prior to that, perhaps as early as 4/23/14 but I'm not well (inoperable brain cancer) and just began using my laptop again about 5 days ago. I became aware of the problems about 5 days ago, during which I have tried searching the Mozilla support forums and the web for some clue as to what else I can try, hence the reference to question #981577, which looks like it could have been written by me (my saved passwords no longer work, and I can't open add-ons now, but for the last few days I could use add-ons - the ones for sql lite, but I just tried the troubleshooter add-on listed at the bottom of this page and I can't utilize it, which happened to me earlier today when I downloaded an add-on, I clicked the orange FF button on the top left, then clicked on Add-Ons and it only goes so far as to reach the Add-Ons manager, but nothing happens when you click the Add-On you're trying to use - if it even shows up - it only shows a place marker page with "Disable" and "Remove" - I thought the problem was with the other Add-On I tried because it was over a year old and maybe it just didn't work. Somehow I think that the Firefox Menu Bar with the Orange Firefox button and other tool bars might be part of the problem. If I click on the Navigation Tool Bar and I click on the Bookmarks Button that I added to the bar, it will drop down and show me bookmarked pages (maybe 15) that aren't sorted like my missing ones. If I click "Show All Bookmarks" it opens the window labeled LIBRARY which shows on the left side of the screen. Inside the Library window is a toolbar with fwd bkwk grayed out/can't use, then organize, then views, then Import and Backup - then a box that's Search Bookmarks with a magnifying glass. Below the tool bar is a left screen section with an icon like a book that reads All Bookmarks, there are no bookmarks listed under that heading, and nothing happens if you click it like a button/command. On the right hand side there are two sections, the first section on the right hand side and upper portion under the toolbar is an area with Name and Location headings, and below show the 3 recent Bookmarks I have added lately. Right below the previous section is the heading Name: and then a blank search box. If I click "Show All" when working with Bookmarks OR Toolbars, they somehow default to a blank LIBRARY window. When I click the History area from the Firefox Orange button, it shows several recent websites, when I click Show All - nothing, I just and when I click on Bookmarks, there are several bookmarks that I have made today showing up, BUT NONE of these bookmarks show up in the LIBRARY window when I click Show All. I want to add that I get the same results when I use the Firefox Orange Button Toolbar as opposed to the original Menu toolbar. I have completed every task mentioned in the conversation of question #981577, and for the most part, I have repeated the steps three times each, with additional exits from Firefox and powering down my pc in between for good measure. I have also used Windows System Restore twice with no results, as well as attempting to "downgrade" my version of Firefox to 24 and 27 (which I know is not a recommended step and the first attempt resulted in downloading Firefox 28, which I was already running, and the second time, nothing restored or magically appeared, so I did an un-install and did a clean install of Firefox 28 from the download link on the Mozilla site. There is no indication that the other support-user had her question/ticket answered/resolved. The support communication spanned from 12/26-12/27/13. I wished that the previous conversation had taken place more recently, because it may point to a problem with FF28, but I don't know if it was released back in December. Here is the question/problem from the original poster, and I HAVE taken all of the steps as suggested by the support representative that assisted her.

I would be so grateful to have my bookmarks back because they are my lifeline, and I think I have/had more than 3,500 links. As far as my history, I never delete anything (bookmarks included). I know there must have been thousands of visited websites that I have saved. I've tried the whole restore bookmarks process, I've copied the folder and deleted the places file thing. None of that has worked.

What's weird is if I type something in in the URL box that I know is in my bookmarks, it will show up like it's in the history. But nothing shows up in my bookmarks folder at all.

I need some help on this as I've tried almost every way I've read and nothing has brought them up. Firing of Brendon Eich has shown me what type of a company you really are. I have no desire to support a bigoted company such as yours, especially when you back down like cowering wimps to the Gay & Lesbian groups. If that is your wish, I hope the 4 to 5% of the Gay community is enough to keep your company afloat. I'm out ....... and back on Internet Explorer.
