Hello,

I'm using firefox 26.0.

I'm making an app using the HTML5 Audio fonctionnality. First thing, I'm not using the <audio> tag from HTML5.

Here is a small part of my code :

var audio = new Audio(); audio.src = 'music/Vivaldi.mp3'; audio.controls = true; audio.autoplay = true; audio.volume = 1;

If I change the volume property, it works.

But, as soon as I use createMediaElementSource(audio) The "volume" property does not work (http://www.w3schools.com/tags/av_prop_volume.asp). If I change the value, nothing happen...

The weird thing is that it works perfectly on Chrome, Safari & even on IE...

Why clicking in a french site for requesting help, I am finally rerouted to an english site ?

When I click on a .pdf link, Firefox downloads the file to my desktop. This is fine.

Sometimes, however, I would prefer that Firefox simply open the .pdf document in a new window. I know it used to work this way, but it stopped some time ago. How can I control this behavior?

I looked in Preferences > Applications and selected on "pdf". Two entries showed up under "Content Type":

 "Preview.app Document (application/po..."

and

 "Portable Document Format (PDF)".

Both entries have the same "Action": "Use PDF Browser Plugin 2.4.4 (in Firefox)"

Oops. I just figured it out. The PDF entry (only) has an extra pulldown option under Action: "Preview in Firefox". I tried it and it works!

I guess the old PDF Browser Plugin 2.4.4 must've quit working some time ago.

Dozens of people have strongly complained about Yahoo inserting itself in Firefox and hiding itself so it cannot be removed. This has been going on for at least a month.

Why doesn't Mozilla do something to prevent Yahoo from HACKING into Firefox.? It is an obvious attempt to pre-empt people's browser of choice. Surely there is someone in the Mozilla group who can either alter the code to block Yahoo or at least come up with a solution that lets the average user remove the stupid Yahoo software.

Thanks

I created a new FireFox profile. I launched FireFox using this profile, and closed the default windows. I disabled all extensions. I quit FireFox, and relaunched it. I verified that all extensions were disabled. Only extension is Troubleshooter (previously installed on a test sequence I messed up) Only Appearance is "Default 27.0.1" No Services.

I opened an about:memory window.

In a new single window, I opened the URL...

http://www.toscanamall.com/en/content/3-terms-and-conditions-of-use

I waited for it to load, and FireFox memory (according to Activity Monitor) was bobbing around 200MB. After a few minutes, the memory use was stable around 200MB. I saved my first about:memory report (#1), and then minimized the toscanamall window. I did nothing except move the mouse once in a while to keep the machine awake. During the next 5 minutes FireFox memory use went steadily upwards from the ~200MB to 575MB. I saved the next about:memory report (#2). I un-minimized the window - memory use went down to 270MB immediately, and I saved my 3rd about:memory report (#3).

I had to install some crapware, and it made me install snap.do. This was a mistake. I have completely removed snap.do, so I think, but it has injected itself somehow within firefox. I have removed it entirely, cept for when i type anything in the address bar for a search, it currently only searches http://search.snapdo.com/?st=ds&q= its driving me quite batty. Please read my things I have done before you post.

Things I have done.. - Switched the "search box" search engine. I've tried to switch it to something else like yahoo, and then switch back to google, then type in the ADDRESS BAR, still defaults to snap.do. I've also tried all sorts of things, as I believe since firefox 23 whatever you have selected in the search box, will default for the address bar, in my case.. no.

- keyworld.url or any about:config search for snap or snapdo or snap.do or * Listen, this has been gone since firefox 23. I'm running version 27.0.1, ITS NOT THERE DONT SUGGEST THISSS FKJALSDFLKAJSD. I've also tried the keyworld.url hack. First time I tried there was a snap.do keyword and i was like "EFFFIN AAAA!". But after a restart, snapdo still took over.

- Firefox>help>troubleshoot>reset I'll punch you in the face if you even remotely suggest this, i've done it 329049320 times ;)

- Malware/antivirus/dafjkdsj tool. Unless it directly removes snap.do dont even tempt me.

- uninstall/reinstall Ok.. c'mon, you think I havent tried this?

-add/remove programs rly?

Ok so you see my frustration here? One more list..

Things I will not do.. - Delete my firefox profile. I'd just really rather not, as history is how I browse some stuff. and well other things as well, I mean in the end, if i must i must.

But if anyone has any other ideas on how i can force firefox to a search engine please let me know, and i will be your friend ;D

Test PDF at: http://www.sloplanning.org/gis/mapimagepdf/RuralCDMaps/Rural%20South%20County%20CD.pdf

The PDF downloads VERY slowly (more than 2 minutes on a fast connection) in Firefox, but only seconds in Chrome or IE. When the PDF is rendered, most of the graphic elements within the PDF are missing; comparing the PDF image between FF and Chrome is stark. A good test is to wait through the long download in FF, then press the 'download' button and compare the resulting image displays. The 'downloaded' version has the graphics that are missing from the in-browser display.

At the moment we're stuck telling our clientele to not use FF. :(

In my testing, this is occurring in v27.0.1 of FF on Windows 7; I'm not certain of all the configurations for our clientele where this is also occurring.

Thanks, Steve

As others have posted numerous times, I am no longer able to print from my Canon MX340 printer. All was fine until I updated Firefox a couple of weeks ago. The printer works PERFECTLY AS IT SHOULD from Internet Explorer, Google, Iron browsers, so it HAS to do something with Firefox. and NOT the printer.

I have already tried to reset the printer settings in about:config as suggested by many, but this does NOT solve the problem. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but this does nothing to solve the printer issue either.

Would you PLEASE tell me, as well as the many others having this same issue, how this is to be resolved or if we'll have to wait until the next update to see any change? I really don't want to go back to using Internet Explorer!

Thank you in advance for your reply! :)

Firefox doesn't open half the time. I get an invisible window, as indicated in the window pulldown menu, there are several no-name pages listed there (just a blank entry where a page name would be) and no window will open when I click the dock icon Mac OSX 10.6.8. I can't open Firefox from the dock until I completely quit and relaunch it.

I have Reset Firefox, tried with and without addons, COMPLETELY deleted all firefox files from my system (searched for all files hidden or otherwise for firefox) several times and reinstalled fresh, and the problem persists. I have repeatedly deleted sessionstore.js. I have repeatedly cleared cookies and cache. This has started within the last 3 or 4 updates to Firefox.

In a nutshell: Click dock icon when Firefox is running but no windows are open. Nothing. Check Window menu, I see a no-name page, or several no-name pages in the menu. Clicking them only puts a checkmark next to the blank item and no window shows. Only quitting and relaunching Firefox completely solves the issue.

Ugh. Even after using the theme restorer add-on, it's still not the same. What have you done, why have you done it?

What did making these changes accomplish, honestly? Stylized tabs? No option to turn them off without installing a theme? Why did you mess with the options? The fact that a theme exists just to revert your awful changes means that I'm not the only one that finds having all their settings and layout choices messed with upsetting.

Why mess with the design at all, without asking users to approve it? If you make the browser faster, great, fine. Why does the shape and placement of my tab bar have anything to do with that?

Seriously, who looked at the new design and thought "Yep! That's what we want! Approve it!"? How did multiple people approve this terrible crap?
